Qingran ignored Lingquan's knowing tone, turning her gaze toward the window. Below them, the lights of Guyoung flickered like dying stars, some already swallowed by smoke.
The buildings looked intact from above, but she knew better, decay always started beneath the surface.
Feng Yizhou must've sensed the shift in her thoughts because he didn't push. He simply sat there, hand warm in hers, thumb idly stroking her knuckle like he wasn't trying to memorize the feeling.
"What are you thinking about?" He asked, he understood she must be feeling a lot of pressure as the apocalypse was upon them.
"I'm going to check out the labs later when it's dark, gather as much intel as I can.."
Feng Yizhou nodded, that was a reasonable thought, the capital was basically empty by now, but on lockdown so the zombies couldn't go into the other towns but he knew that was impossible. They'd find their way everywhere.
