"So... you're Wade Wilson, a retired Navy SEAL?"
Since Erik Seven had concealed himself, the "Argos" project had temporarily lost track of him without deploying the EE1D drone.
Kagura decided to first figure out what was going on with this so-called "Deadpool."
Thus, she and Deadpool sat in the corner of a small alley, engaging in conversation.
"No, I'm Deadpool. You called me Deadpool first, so now I am Deadpool."
"You have to take responsibility for this! From now on, I am Deadpool. Please, refer to me as... Deadpool!"
Wade started playing a tongue-twister game with Kagura again.
"Honestly, I think the name Deadpool is pretty cool..."
"Enough with the nonsense! Answer the question properly, you annoying chatterbox!" Kagura snapped.
"Wade, can you tell me how you got your superpowers? And don't tell me you're from another universe or something."
"Are you checking my household registration? If you think I'm from another universe, you'll be disappointed. I'm a local, born and raised." Wade tilted his head.
"But you know what? I wouldn't mind if the person checking my registration was a cute girl like you. Hehe. Wow, you've got a great figure."
He leaned in closer to Kagura's face.
"Hey, pretty girl, let me tell you a little secret—I think you're even more beautiful than my ex-girlfriend! Too bad I can't see her anymore."
"She probably thinks I'm dead. And if she saw me looking like this, she'd definitely think I turned into a zombie and slap me in the face..."
"So, pretty lady, since you're so gorgeous and I suddenly like you, how about becoming my girlfriend?"
"Ahem! First of all, you can call me Flashblade. Stop with the 'pretty lady' nonsense. And second, there's no way I'm becoming your girlfriend!" Kagura sighed.
Talking with Deadpool was exhausting.
"Back to the point. You mentioned having an ex-girlfriend—why did you two separate? Did something happen?" Kagura patiently continued her questioning.
"Wade, I'm not a bad person. Like you, I just want to make a difference in this world."
"We may have different ways of doing things, but I think you truly deserve the title of a superhero."
"Alright, fine. You're no fun. But hey, if telling you my story might win your heart, then I suppose it's worth it. Wow, just thinking about it makes me excited." Wade shrugged.
"At first, I was diagnosed with a terminal illness—just a few months to live. That was the end of the road for me."
"I lost all hope and broke up with my girlfriend, planning to find a quiet place to die."
"Then, while I was waiting for death, a mysterious organization approached me."
"They claimed they could cure me. But their treatment was untested and came with serious risks."
"I figured, hey, I was as good as dead anyway, so I might as well give it a shot. So, I agreed and was taken to a laboratory." Wade let out a deep sigh.
"But what I didn't expect—and what you would never guess—is that the worst thing in the world isn't dying."
"It's wanting to die but not being able to. Every day, trapped between life and death..."
"You said an organization found you. What kind of organization was it?" Kagura focused on a key point in Wade's story. "Are they still conducting experiments like this?"
"I don't know. They never told me, and I never asked." Wade spread his hands helplessly.
"But I did catch a glimpse of their emblem—a big, red octopus-looking thing. The kind of logo that just screams 'evil organization.'"
"But I don't remember exactly what it looked like. You have to understand, I was constantly in a daze back then, pumped full of gamma radiation, experimental drugs, and all sorts of weird stuff."
"As for the place they tortured me in... well, it was completely destroyed in a fire."
"So after gaining your superpowers, you found a way to destroy the organization that experimented on you?"
Kagura summarized Deadpool's story while considering his description of the emblem.
'Hmm... that sounds an awful lot like Hydra.'
"To be precise, my healing ability only seemed to kick in after I was burned alive."
Wade lifted the edge of his mask, revealing his severely scarred skin.
"If I had this regeneration power from the start, I wouldn't have ended up looking like this. I could've gone back to my girlfriend... Ugh, I just want a girlfriend!"
"Pfft... That's so like you." Kagura covered her mouth, laughing.
In this world, which was similar to the MCU, she had yet to find any trace of the X-Men, mutants, or anything from the X-universe.
So why was Deadpool here?
Deadpool was created by injecting him with Wolverine's healing factor.
His regeneration ability shared the same origin as Logan's.
And in the X-universe or Marvel comics, the organization that experimented on him was the Weapon X Program.
But in this world, there was no Wolverine and no Weapon X. By all logic, Deadpool shouldn't even exist here.
That was why, from the beginning, Kagura kept asking Wade if he had crossed over from another universe.
That would've been the simplest explanation.
After all, she herself was a transmigrator.
The possibility of other people crossing over wasn't out of the question.
But judging from their conversation so far, maybe she had overthought things.
She still seemed to be the only known transmigrator in this world.
Deadpool's abilities appeared to have been accidentally granted by a mysterious organization that strongly resembled Hydra.
If Wade's story was accurate, then his "origin story" here seemed to follow the Deadpool movie rather than the X-universe.
Maybe, back in her past life, the demand to include Deadpool in the MCU was so high that he somehow ended up existing in this world?
Alright, no more wild theories.
Kagura shook her head lightly. Regardless of how he got here, the fact remained that Deadpool was sitting in front of her.
Same red suit and twin katanas, same regeneration ability, same relentless chatter.
The Ancient One had once told her that this was not the MCU.
This world had long diverged from it. So she shouldn't be surprised if strange people showed up.
"Wade, then my next question is why are you here? Do you have a grudge against A.I.M.? What's your reason for tracking and stopping Erik Seven?"
"Oh, that's easy. My face is a disaster, and I want to use their miracle drug to fix it."
