Kagura Hitomi wasn't someone who enjoyed surprises. She had died due to an accident and found herself in this world because of another.
Therefore, whether it was the battle against Obadiah Stane, the clash with Ivan Vanko, or the Battle of New York, she always meticulously planned her actions and executed them accordingly.
Of course, there were always... complications.
Such as her so-called "wonderful teammates." Yes, those "wonderful teammates." And more of those "wonderful teammates."
Unexpected situations couldn't always be avoided, but that was no excuse for acting without a plan.
In this regard, Kagura and Deadpool were polar opposites.
Deadpool was an embodiment of chaos.
Whether in peril or cooperating with others, he followed his instincts and whims.
Planning? Rules? Those concepts didn't exist in his world. Charge in headfirst and see what happens.
This was precisely why Kagura never considered recruiting Deadpool into the Avengers or the Griffin Security Agency.
That guy was the ultimate solo player. His ideal battlefield was one where he could act alone.
Stretching her slender waist, Kagura muttered to herself, "In summary, looks like I'll be handling this one solo."
After all... everyone else was either busy or on a date.
From the rooftop of the airport, she gazed toward the Boeing 777 private jet parked on the runway.
The departure time was approaching. One after another, black cars drove along the airport road and stopped before the temporary red carpet.
Each time a door opened, one or two men in suits would step out, greeted by salutes from the honor guards.
The military band played, and the soldiers assigned to security stood at attention as the VIPs arrived. Everything appeared orderly, with no trace of danger.
However, danger lurked beneath this façade of strict security.
"Cortana, can you hear me?" Kagura activated her earpiece. "Break time's over. Time to get to work."
"At your service, Master."
"This is a target elimination mission with a focus on hostage safety."
"Be careful not to harm any of the World Security Council members during the operation. I'd rather avoid unnecessary trouble."
"Understood. Should we proceed as planned?"
"Exactly. Let's go!"
For Kagura, straightforward elimination was always preferable.
Protecting hostages during combat was her least favorite kind of mission. But dislike or not, the job had to be done.
Her targets were the Extremis-enhanced soldiers who had infiltrated the VIP guard and surrounding security forces.
By rough estimation, more than half of the VIP guard and armed guards are near the plane's staircase had been replaced with Killian's Extremis soldiers.
These soldiers surrounded the unsuspecting World Security Council members and were ready to strike at Killian's command, wiping out both the Council and accompanying high-ranking U.S. military officials.
In this situation, Kagura had to rescue the hostages while eliminating the Extremis soldiers and preventing them from self-detonating.
The mission was demanding, and success relied heavily on precise planning.
Fortunately, Kagura had some nifty gadgets up her sleeve.
"EE1DII drone is in position. Optical camouflage is functioning properly."
Cortana began executing the plan, deploying Rhodes Industries' EE1DII suppression drone above the airport.
"Argos satellite orbit adjustment complete. Extremis signal recognition active. Data link established."
"Countdown to mission start: ten seconds."
[Full-spectrum electromagnetic cloaking: Activated.]
Kagura activated her stealth mode and leaped from the rooftop, advancing toward the private jet.
The plan was simple: the EE1DII drone would unleash a wide-range sonic suppression wave, causing the Extremis soldiers to instinctively activate their abilities.
The Argos satellite would then instantly identify them, and Kagura would deploy her "Skylark" swarm drones to freeze and eliminate them before they could self-detonate.
The entire operation would last five seconds—a textbook example of a lightning strike.
As the countdown appeared on her holographic UI, the EE1DII drone above the jet began charging its suppression module.
[3, 2, 1... Start!]
'BOOM——!'
A powerful sonic wave surged from above, paralyzing everyone within the drone's range.
"Identifying hostiles target..."
As the crowd froze, the Argos satellite scanned the area and marked all Extremis carriers in Kagura's heads-up display.
"Targets identified. Total: sixteen. Looks like Killian brought his entire squad."
Kagura activated the "White Moon" combat suit's module, releasing the "Skylark" swarm drones.
"Lethal mode. Prioritize heart and brain. No self-destruction allowed."
'Whoosh—! Whoosh—! Whoosh—!'
The swarm of Skylark drones launched from her suit and soared toward the struggling Extremis soldiers.
'Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!'
Like deadly daggers, the drones pierced through the soldiers' chests and heads, releasing extreme coolant to suppress the Extremis heat surge.
Ice shards scattered, blood splattered.
Within moments, all the Extremis soldiers hidden among the VIP guard and security forces lay dead, before anyone could comprehend what had happened.
Deactivating her stealth mode, Kagura stepped forward and greeted the bewildered World Security Council members.
"Hi there! This is your Miss Flashblade! Don't panic, the crisis has been neutralized before it even began."
With the Skylark drones dancing in the air and blood pooling on the ground, the girl in white gracefully bowed, resembling a smiling angel of death, turning this macabre scene into a surreal masterpiece.
"Master, detecting a high concentration of Extremis signals. Seventy-nine meters away, inside the rear section of the jet."
"Got it." Kagura smirked.
"Your turn, Aldrich"
