Chapter 54
*******
Roman's POV
As soon as I finished speaking, a sharp vibration came from my pocket. My phone.
Reaching for it, I pulled it out and glanced at the screen. Zeke.
That was all I needed to see. Without hesitation, I picked up the call, my grip tightening around the device as I stepped away from the deafening noise of my coronation party. The music blared, the laughter was loud, and the voices of the pack members merged into a chaotic hum. Every sound felt grating, an unwelcome intrusion on my already restless mind
But right now, it felt suffocating.
I pressed the phone against my ear, weaving through the crowd toward the quieter hallway. The farther I moved, the more muffled the noise became. I welcomed the silence, the reprieve from the overwhelming festivities.
Before I could even say a word, Zeke's voice shot through the speaker, sharp and laced with fury.
"Where the hell have you been all day? Why the fuck haven't you been answering your phone?"
