Alberto glanced at his wristwatch. 4:00 a.m. sharp. Frustration and anger churned inside him as guards rushed back and forth, not just empty-handed but armed, guns, blades, and combat gear clutched tightly in their grips.
From the other end of the room, the Elders stood like statues, their eyes throwing daggers at him as if he were the sole reason for this disaster. Their glares burned with unspoken accusations, their expressions twisted with irritation. They looked awful, not in the literal sense, but there they stood, half-naked, clad only in their boxers, while he remained the only one fully dressed. And judging by their expressions, that fact alone was adding fuel to their fury.
"Do you realize how humiliating this is?" Dominic's voice cut through the chaos, thick with barely restrained rage. "Standing here, like this, naked in front of the entire pack? And we can't even go home to put on something decent?"
