Malric sighed. "Luna Reana is a force and you know it, yet you run your mouth in her presence." He frowned. "You should have kept your hatred for her hidden deep beneath your intestines, Killian. You shouldn't have made this mistake..." He clenched his teeth, biting back the harsh criticism that was just at the tip of his tongue.
Killian turned his head slowly, and for the first time since the ambush, his eyes held something close to life.
His brother. His twin brother, whom he loved, yet couldn't stand the sight of. "You'll become the Alpha now. It's what you've always wanted."
Malric's jaw tightened at Killian's words, a mix of disbelief and something darker flashing across his face. He was used to scheming and wanting his brother off that seat.
He was used to hating his brother for being the one their parents and siblings loved the most. He thought the knowledge of his brother, or the sight of him like this would make him happy.
