Moris Sinclair didn't react to threats. He eliminated them.
Victor Mendez had made his move, but Moris wasn't about to sit back and play the obedient pawn. The note in his hand was a challenge—a reminder that Victor was watching.
But Moris had a message of his own to send.
He wasn't afraid.
A Hidden Weakness
The morning light filtered through the glass windows of his penthouse as Sarah walked in, placing a file on his desk.
"I did some digging," she said. "Victor keeps his operations airtight, but there's one thing he's vulnerable to."
Moris flipped through the pages. Images of a young woman—dark hair, piercing green eyes—filled the file.
"Who is she?"
Sarah's lips curved into a knowing smirk. "Selena Mendez. His niece. She's been living under the radar, away from his influence."
Moris frowned. "Why?"
"Because she hates him."
A slow grin formed on Moris's face. Perfect.
A Dangerous Meeting
That evening, Moris sat in the back of his black Bentley as it pulled up in front of a secluded café. Isabel was already there, waiting.
"You're sure she'll show?" Moris asked.
Isabel nodded. "She's not loyal to Victor. She's afraid of him."
A few minutes later, the café door opened, and Selena Mendez stepped inside. She was cautious, her sharp eyes scanning the room before settling on them.
She slid into the seat across from Moris. "I shouldn't be here."
Moris leaned forward. "Then why did you come?"
She hesitated, then sighed. "Because I want him gone as much as you do."
A spark of interest flickered in Moris's gaze. "Then we have the same goal."
Selena exhaled. "If you're planning to take down Victor, you need to know something—he's more dangerous than you think."
Moris's smirk never wavered. "Good. I like a challenge."
Selena shook her head. "This isn't a game, Sinclair. If you go after him, he will destroy you."
Moris's expression hardened. "Then we make sure he never gets the chance."
Victor Strikes First
As Moris left the café, his phone buzzed. It was Sarah.
"You need to get back. Now."
Moris's grip tightened around his phone. "What happened?"
Her voice was urgent. "Victor just made his move."
His blood ran cold. "Tell me."
A pause. Then:
"He went after Isabel."
Moris's jaw clenched. His heartbeat thundered in his ears.
Victor had just crossed the line.
And now?
Now, Moris was about to show him what a real war looked like.
