Chapter 91 - Chapter 91: Fossil Pokémon Bucket Arrives

"Blastoise!"

Blastoise opened its mouth and released a Water Pulse.

Bang!

The Water Pulse hit, and a mist burst out. As the mist dispersed, Aerodactyl fainted.

"Go, Poké Ball." Gary threw the Poké Ball.

Bang!

The Poké Ball hit Aerodactyl and successfully captured it.

Under the control of Confusion, the Poké Ball flew in front of Gary, and he reached out and grabbed it.

[Ding! Mission released: Collect the Green Reserve Team (Machamp, Aerodactyl, Gyarados, Heracross, Tyranitar, Magneton) / Reward: Intermediate Rare Candy x10, Advanced Rare Candy x10, Bronze Crown x1, Silver Crown x1, Gold Bottle Cap x1!]

Gary was stunned. Capturing Aerodactyl triggered a mission.

The system issued a collection task. The six Pokémon that need to be collected are indeed the backup team of Green.

Among them, Tyranitar is the face of Green as the Alliance champion.

Among the six Pokémon, the others are manageable, but capturing Tyranitar is the key challenge. Tyranitar is a rare Pokémon and cannot be traded.

To capture Tyranitar, one must find it in the wild, but wild Tyranitar are very strong.

Even if Gary's current Pokémon team up, it would be difficult to handle.

As for Larvitar and Pupitar, capturing them is even more challenging because Larvitar live underground after birth, eating soil daily, and rarely emerge.

When Larvitar consumes a mountain of soil, it evolves into Pupitar. Pupitar remains in a pupa state, buried underground until it is ready to evolve, then it emerges.

So capturing Tyranitar is not impossible, but capturing Larvitar and Pupitar is exceptionally difficult.

Wild Tyranitar are also very rare. Although many trainers have Tyranitar in the anime, wild Tyranitar rarely appear.

The Tyranitar Gary knows of is a female in the Silver Forest, and its child was with Ash for a while.

The key is that this Tyranitar lives in the Mt. Silver Reserve, and capturing rare Pokémon in the reserve is prohibited.

"Everyone come in and rest." Gary didn't dwell on it. He would address this task later. Now, he needed to leave the underground cave quickly.

Gary recalled all the Pokémon, found the Poké Balls from Jessie and James, and collected Arbok and Weezing.

Sabrina used Teleport to lead everyone to the top of the cave.

"Ash, are you okay?" After coming up from the underground cave, Misty and Brock checked on Ash.

"Misty, Brock, don't worry, I'm fine. Team Rocket has been dealt with, and... we saw precious ancient Pokémon underground," Ash said proudly.

Misty and Brock were confused. They hadn't seen the underground cave, but they heard a lot of noise from below.

If Gary and Sabrina hadn't gone down, they would have considered checking it out themselves.

"Are those ancient Pokémon still down there?" Brock asked.

When Brock asked this, Ash, who had just looked proud, suddenly said dejectedly, "They were all captured by Gary."

Brock and Misty immediately looked at Gary.

"Gary, can you let us see the ancient Pokémon?" Misty asked.

"Sorry, my Pokémon storage is full. The captured ones were teleported to my grandpa, so I can't show you right now," Gary said. "Rather than watching, let's call the police first."

After that, Gary took out his phone and dialed the police station.

After the call with the police station, Gary also called Professor Oak. After all, those ancient Pokémon had never seen modern humans. If Professor Oak released them rashly, they might riot again.

"Hey, Gary, how come you have time to call me?" The phone connected, and Professor Oak's voice came through.

It seems Grandpa hasn't opened the Poké Balls yet.

"Grandpa, new Pokémon have been captured here, and they should all be teleported over," Gary said.

"Oh, you captured new Pokémon again. I'll go and see later," Professor Oak was busy with research and wasn't monitoring the teleporter in real-time.

"I captured a lot of Pokémon this time, a total of 9 Pokémon."

"So many, what did you capture?"

Professor Oak was shocked. Didn't Gary say he would take the elite route? Why capture so many at once?

"Nothing, just two Omanyte and two Omastar, two Kabuto and two Kabutops, and one Aerodactyl," Gary said.

The other end of the phone was silent for a moment.

"Gary, you're not kidding, right? Those are ancient Pokémon, all extinct. Where did you find them?" Professor Oak questioned.

"I found them in the underground cave in Dasha Valley. They just woke up and are a bit hungry. Grandpa, you should feed them before studying them. And they can't be left in the backyard, or they might eat the Pokémon there," Gary reminded.

In the original plot, Aerodactyl considered Ash as food, indicating they haven't been exposed to modern society. If released casually, other Pokémon might suffer.

"Dasha Valley, I didn't expect there to be living ancient Pokémon besides fossils," Professor Oak exclaimed.

"I've said everything I should, Grandpa. Take good care of these ancient Pokémon. There should be females among Omastar and Kabutops. If the Pokémon League needs them, you can let them go," Gary said.

"Female? How can you be sure?"

Even Professor Oak doesn't know the ecological information of ancient Pokémon, so how can Gary know?

"Because when I captured Omanyte and Kabuto, Kabutops and Omastar didn't run away. In this case, it's likely that Omanyte and Kabuto are their children."

The egg groups of Kabutops and Omastar are both Water 1 and Water 3. There is no racial segregation between the two, and they can reproduce with each other.

"You are really observant. I know everything you told me. I'll pay attention to it," Professor Oak said.

"Then, Grandpa, please take good care of them for me. I'm also puzzled as to how they survived from ancient times. Although Rock Pokémon can rely on long sleep to avoid disasters, it shouldn't take tens of thousands of years," Gary said.

"What you said makes sense. Maybe they've been living underground all this time," Professor Oak said.

"Maybe." Gary had to agree with this statement. After all, sleeping for several years is impossible with just a few Pokémon.

Even Legendary Pokémon may not live for ten thousand years.
