Lily's life was vastly different from before. Alger had become much more possessive of her now, and it seemed he had truly changed. The hatred he once harbored had now turned into love and an intense possessiveness toward Lily.
She wasn't sure whether to feel happy or sad about it, but one thing was certain—she could genuinely feel Alger's love through all his actions.
This morning was like any other. Both Lily and Alger were ready in their work attire. Now that Lily was feeling much better, she had even prepared breakfast early in the morning.
As Alger came down from upstairs, Lily, who was pouring milk into a glass, cleared her throat and lowered her head.
"I'm sorry," she murmured.
Alger, who had just placed his work bag down, furrowed his brows and looked at her.
"Sorry for what?"
"For ruining the event yesterday," Lily said softly.
Alger chuckled and shook his head.
"Why would you apologize? It was clear that you fainted, and that wasn't something you did on purpose."
