"What are you looking at?" Yuki asked, his head swivelled towards Hatsuki, who had her eyes watery as she watched the documentary on her phone.
"Oh, it's just..." She wetted her dried lips and turned towards Yuki, looking at him eye to eye. Her eyes plummeted, and the words were like coarse grains, almost hurting her mind and soul.
"I thought of how lucky I am. So lucky to have you, and privileged enough never to know what real real hardship meant." Her voice cracked, and with each word, the volume lowered, and the final words were barely audible.
"How so?" Yuki asked. He could feel the tenderness in her soul. He could see the feelings that she'd bury within her that she wanted to share. Her desperation was locked in those eyes that were like glass.
