Chapter 77 - Chapter 78: Damian’s First Day at School

As the news of the Demon Corporation's upcoming press conference spread, various factions also received the information.

"That so-called Demon King is starting a company? What's he planning to sell—demons from Hell? Hahaha…"

"The Demon King? Raven, go investigate."

"Let's observe first. The Demon King's power is not something we can oppose."

Beneath the seemingly calm surface, the undercurrents of the world surged. Various factions secretly plotted, waiting for the press conference to bring unforeseen changes.

Unaware of the agitation caused by the Demon Corporation's press conference, Kino was entirely focused on other matters.

The next morning, soft sunlight bathed the entrance of a primary school in New York.

A group of stunning women had gathered there, their attention centered on a young girl.

"Damian, today is your first day at school. You must listen carefully in class, and if you don't understand something, ask the teacher. Also, here—take this. This is a man-eating plant seed I carefully cultivated. If anyone bullies you, throw it at them and let it eat them."

Pamela spoke while stuffing a small bag of seeds into Damian's pocket, her eyes full of concern.

"My sweet little cutie, come home early! Venom Mommy will miss you!"

Venom hugged Damian tightly, rubbing against her affectionately, unwilling to let go.

"Miss Damian, take this—an obsidian dagger. It's extremely sharp, capable of cutting through steel. Keep it for self-defense."

Xi solemnly placed the dagger into Damian's small backpack.

At the back, Frank listened to the series of absurd instructions, cold sweat dripping from his forehead as he muttered internally, "It's just school… does it really need to be this dramatic?"

Since Frank had no special tasks today, he once again took on the role of a caretaker.

After the women had finished bidding Damian farewell, it was finally Kino's turn.

The two of them stood there, staring at each other in silence, unsure of what to say.

"Just… study well. And if you can't, at least make sure you eat properly and don't go hungry, okay?"

Kino spoke awkwardly, struggling to come up with advice.

"Mm, I understand, Godfather."

Damian nodded seriously, while Frank also nodded approvingly, thinking, "Now that's a normal piece of advice."

However, Kino still seemed uneasy. He crouched down, rolled up Damian's pant leg, and left a demonic mark on her calf.

"I sealed a demon inside this mark. If you're ever in trouble, just shout 'Demon,' and a guardian will appear to protect you. But don't use it carelessly."

Kino warned her.

Demon? Frank's mind flashed with images of powerful demonic figures.

He had no idea which one Kino had sealed, but knowing Kino's nature, it was bound to be a formidable entity.

Out of all of them, you're the most ridiculous one, Young Master.

Frank couldn't help but complain internally. Giving a child such a summoning method—really? Aren't you afraid she'll use it as a game and summon the demon at random?

Frank looked at the peaceful primary school before them, a place filled with his childhood memories. It was the school where he had arranged for Damian to enroll, as well as his own alma mater.

Yet now, he was filled with worry, his mind unwillingly conjuring terrifying scenarios—visions of the school being obliterated by a rampaging demon, with terrified children screaming amidst the destruction.

"Today, we have a new student joining us. Please introduce yourself!"

The teacher on the podium announced.

"I am Damian Wayne."

Her voice was clear, carrying a trace of cold arrogance.

The students below started whispering among themselves.

"She's so pretty."

"I saw her getting out of a luxury car this morning. She must be rich."

Meanwhile, Damian was quietly observing her future classmates. In her eyes, they all seemed weak and childish.

Seeing that she had no intention of saying more, the teacher pointed to a seat by the window.

"Damian, take that seat over there. We're about to start class."

Expressionless, Damian walked over and sat down. As the teacher began lecturing, some of the boys next to her kept chattering nonstop, trying to talk to her.

She found it incredibly boring.

I've already learned all of this before. Why did Father want me to come to such a place? The life of ordinary people is so dull. I'd rather be training.

Damian frowned slightly, her eyes showing a hint of frustration and confusion.

When the bell rang for recess, she ignored the classmates trying to strike up a conversation and walked straight to the restroom.

But as she stepped out after washing her hands, a group of tall boys blocked her path.

"What do you want?"

One of the boys spoke arrogantly.

"Why didn't you talk to me when I spoke to you in class?"

"Because we were in class."

Damian replied calmly, her opinion of them lowering from childish to childish and stupid.

"I don't care. From now on, whenever I talk to you, you have to reply. If you don't, I'll have my older brother beat you up."

The boy threatened fiercely, while the boys behind him cracked their knuckles, trying to appear intimidating.

To Damian, however, they looked like a bunch of yapping snow foxes.

She silently analyzed their stance, noting multiple weaknesses.

They're full of openings.

She then assessed their physiques—flabby muscles, no real strength.

I could take them down in under ten seconds.

Finally, something interesting. A small smile tugged at Damian's lips, a glint of excitement flashing in her eyes.

I'll take thirty seconds to defeat them—just to pass the time.

Just as she was about to make her move—

"Nathan, you're bullying people again!"

A sharp voice rang out.

A wooden stick swung through the air, precisely striking the boys, making them clutch their heads in pain and scatter.

A girl in an orange hoodie held a broom, skillfully wielding it like a weapon.

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. You stole my prey."

Damian said, crossing her arms in slight annoyance.

"Stole your prey? Wow, that sounds so cool! Hi, I'm Jade Chan, but you can call me Jade."

Jade tossed the broom aside and smiled brightly.

"Hello."

Damian responded indifferently before turning back toward the classroom without another word.

She had already decided—she was going to ask her godfather to let her drop out.

There was no point wasting time on people she would never see again.
