Haider called her name softly, and then did not say anything else.
The atmosphere between the two suddenly became tense. Avril held her breath and waited for his answer.
The silence seemed to stretch on for a century, but the hands on the wall clock reminded Avril that only one minute had passed.
Finally, Haider adjusted his breathing and asked in a sexy voice, "Do you suspect me of something?" Suspect him?
Avril was stunned. Her first reaction was to deny it. She wanted to tell Haider that she believed in him.
But the images flashing across her mind made her hesitate.
When she was kidnapped by Angie that day, Haider had defeated those men without even moving to attack them. Angie's hand seemed to have been severed by his bare hands. That wasn't possible unless a very strong force was used.
There was something else! The vampire today reminded Avril about another important thing.
When Haider had appeared in that abandoned house, he hadn't made a sound!
