Chapter 82 - Chapter 82: The Origin of the Ten Tails

"Combining two into one, unifying everything—are you kidding me?!"

Onoki glared at Madara, his anger flaring just as it had in the past. He wasn't the type to hold back when faced with such absurdity.

Obito narrowed his eyes slightly, his voice calm yet commanding. "The Uchiha clan has a stone tablet that has been passed down for generations. It still remains underground in Konoha. The secrets written on it were left by the Sage of Six Paths. Without the power of special eyes, it cannot be deciphered. With the Sharingan, Mangekyō Sharingan, and the Rinnegan, the contents of the tablet become clearer with each stage of evolution."

Onoki frowned. "Your words keep getting more and more bizarre. The Sage of Six Paths and all this nonsense..."

"It is not nonsense. He existed. He left a stone tablet for us to understand the truth."

Raikage clenched his fists. "You're getting off-topic! What does your plan have to do with the Sage of Six Paths?!"

Obito remained unfazed. "Do you know why he became a legend? Why he was worshipped as the god of shinobi? The answer to that question ties directly into my ultimate goal."

Terumi Mei folded her arms. "Uchiha Madara, you possess the Mangekyō Sharingan, and Akatsuki also has the Rinnegan. You should know everything by now."

Onoki floated down from mid-air, his eyes locking onto Obito. "Then speak, Madara."

Obito shifted his gaze to Tsunade. "Before I continue, let me tell you something else. Akatsuki's Rinnegan has been taken by Uzumaki Naruto. Not only that, but he has also kidnapped two of my Akatsuki members."

Jiraiya's expression darkened. "What did you say?! Naruto took Nagato's Rinnegan?!"

Tsunade's brow furrowed. "Impossible. Naruto would never do such a thing."

Gaara, who had been silent, finally spoke. "You claim that Naruto took the Rinnegan and abducted members of Akatsuki. Are you saying he has betrayed Konoha?"

Gaara turned to Tsunade. "Hokage-sama, is this true?"

Tsunade hesitated, recalling the incident in Konoha when Naruto took Danzo's eye and severed his arm. Eventually, she nodded.

Gaara clenched his fists. "That can't be..."

Seeing his reaction, Temari placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Gaara..."

Gaara exhaled deeply. "I'm fine."

Raikage scowled. "Hokage, what the hell is happening in your village? Why do you always produce rogues?!"

Onoki shook his head. "This is bad. The strongest Tailed Beast is now out of control."

Terumi Mei mused aloud. "Could he be under the same kind of manipulation as the Fourth Mizukage?"

Jiraiya's expression grew somber. "No. Naruto is acting of his own free will."

His thoughts churned. What was Naruto planning after accumulating such immense power, even taking Nagato's Rinnegan?

Suddenly, an idea struck Jiraiya. He turned to Obito. "Madara! Tell us about the Rinnegan, the stone tablet, and the Sage of Six Paths. I want to hear everything."

Perhaps, somewhere in Madara's words, he could find a clue about Naruto's intentions.

Seeing their anticipation, Obito resumed. "The Sage of Six Paths once saved the world from a great calamity—a monster."

Jiraiya frowned. "A monster?"

Obito nodded. "Yes. Gaara, your own existence is proof of this monster's legacy."

Gaara's eyes sharpened. "What do you mean?"

Obito continued, "From the One-Tail to the Nine-Tails, each of the Tailed Beasts is merely a fragment of the original monster. This creature possessed the strongest chakra in existence, and its name was—Ten Tails."

Temari's brows knitted together. "I thought there were only nine Tailed Beasts?"

Obito sighed in irritation. "I just told you, the Tailed Beasts are fragments of a greater whole!"

He gestured as he spoke. "Shukaku, the One-Tail, Gaara's Tailed Beast;

the Two-Tails, the flaming monster cat of Kumogakure;

the Three-Tails, once wielded by a previous Mizukage;

the Four-Tails, wielder of Lava Release; the Five-Tails, master of steam;

the Six-Tails, a slug-like beast;

the Seven-Tails, the armored insect;

the Eight-Tails, bonded with the Raikage's brother, Killer Bee; and finally,

the Nine-Tails, the demon fox of Konoha."

Kankuro crossed his arms. "So that's why Akatsuki wants to capture the Tailed Beasts..."

Obito nodded. "To execute his plan, the Sage of Six Paths developed a powerful ninjutsu—one that still exists today. It is the foundation of all Jinchūriki—the art of sealing Tailed Beasts."

He let the weight of his words settle before continuing. "Yes, the Sage of Six Paths was the first Jinchūriki. He sealed the Ten Tails within himself to suppress its power. This is why he was revered as a god—he saved humanity from the wrath of Ten Tails."

Gaara's eyes widened in disbelief. "The Sage of Six Paths was a Jinchūriki...?"

Obito smirked. "But it doesn't end there. The Ten Tails' chakra was too immense, too malevolent. Even after his death, the Sage knew the seal would eventually weaken and the monster would return. To prevent this catastrophe, he divided its chakra into nine separate beings—the Tailed Beasts."

Raikage's expression darkened. "And the Ten Tails' body?"

Obito's voice dropped, his next words carrying an eerie reverence. "The Sage of Six Paths sealed the husk of the Ten Tails into the heavens, creating the moon. That is where its empty shell remains to this day."

As he finished speaking, a strange glint flickered in his Sharingan. A look of reverence, as if standing in awe of an unimaginable power.

The room fell into heavy silence.

Gaara looked utterly shaken.

Terumi Mei seemed lost in thought.

Raikage clenched his fists, feeling an ominous sense of foreboding.

Onoki, despite his stubborn skepticism, found himself troubled by the implications.

As for Tsunade and Jiraiya, they readied themselves for the inevitable battle ahead.
