Lu Xian stood on the rooftop of the Galiebi family's estate, casually cracking sunflower seeds as he watched the scene unfold below. Every now and then, he muttered a soul incantation, fueling the already chaotic battlefield.
What a spectacle! Even better than a movie.
Ye Mengnan was locked in an intense battle against a hundred elite warriors from the Galie family—a clash filled with passion and brutality! A true visual feast!
His "Abstract Value" was skyrocketing like a rocket, breaking past sixty thousand in the blink of an eye and rushing toward seventy thousand. Meanwhile, his soul power was draining like seawater being sucked away by a high-powered pump.
Lu Xian popped two Qi Restoration Pills into his mouth. His nearly depleted soul power surged back up, continuously replenishing itself.
"Damn, this stuff is like Popeye's spinach!" His eyes lit up. This was amazing! He definitely needed to stock up on more from Yao Lao for future use.
"Hey, Huo Huo, I always wondered why you're popping pills mid-fight. Turns out, these pills are legit!"
"Boom!" Xiao Yan kicked an enemy off the rooftop, then turned back and said, "Lu bro, I've never taken pills in battle! Can you stop acting like you've read the script? …Forget it. Anyway, are we really not gonna help Brother Ye Hei?"
"Help with what? Can't you see he's having the time of his life? That guy's been running for his life in his own world every day. Now that he finally gets to be invincible, let him enjoy the moment!"
Lu Xian continued munching on sunflower seeds, completely at ease. He was here to farm "Abstract Value." If they just wiped everyone out instantly, where would the value come from?
It was all about maximizing gains while recovering soul power at the same time!
Honestly, if it weren't for the fact that there was still another opportunity with the Oba family, he would've told Ye Hei to slow down a bit. Once his Golden Tome was out, heads were rolling like harvested wheat. Nearly a hundred warriors had surrounded him, yet in such a short time, less than half remained. It was practically a one-sided massacre. Ye Hei was ruthless—his expression unchanging as he slaughtered.
You could admire an emperor's greatness, but never bet on his mercy. A man who could become the Heavenly Emperor had his own understanding of the world.
Xiao Yan observed the battlefield below, then spoke after a moment of silence: "Lu bro, have you noticed? These are all young, strong warriors from the Galie family. Every one of them is fighting to the death, buying time. But I don't see many elderly, women, or children."
"Yeah, I noticed. You planning to wipe them all out?"
Xiao Yan's gaze turned cold. "Since we've already made our move, we can't leave any loose ends. If any of their descendants grow strong in the future and seek revenge against my Xiao family, that would be a disaster. It's better to leave a moral regret than a fatal threat. Wasn't that your philosophy, Lu bro?"
"You've got the right mindset!" Lu Xian chuckled, pointing toward a three-story tower. "I saw some women and children go in there earlier. There was also a middle-aged man who seemed a bit strong."
"That place…" Xiao Yan squinted into the distance. "Looks like the Galie family's library. A place like that would usually have at least one Great Fighter guarding it. Lu bro, wanna check it out?"
"Let's go!"
The two exchanged a glance before gracefully leaping across rooftops toward the library. Any Galie fighters who got in their way were swiftly kicked aside by Lu Xian—who, just for fun, shoved large objects into their mouths before sending them flying.
Lu Xian could feel his heart growing colder. He still remembered when he first crossed over, how just seeing a corpse and smelling blood had made him vomit uncontrollably. Now, he could watch heads roll under his feet without so much as flinching, all while snacking on sunflower seeds.
He was blending into this world more and more.
Who knows? Maybe one day, he'd end up like the Benevolent Immortal, playing a role in the salvation of all beings.
...
Two cloaked figures landed in front of the tightly shut doors of the Galie family's library. Just as they were about to break in, the doors swung open from inside. A middle-aged man with a grim expression stepped out, eyes burning with fury.
"Who the hell are you?! Are you really going to exterminate my entire family, including the elderly and children?!"
"It's just a difference in standpoints."
Xiao Yan's face remained impassive. If he showed mercy now, it might cost the lives of his Xiao family members in the future. He couldn't afford that risk.
"Uncle, don't get me wrong," Lu Xian shook his head. But before the man could feel relieved, Lu Xian continued, "It's just that your wife isn't a child, your son isn't a woman, your daughter isn't elderly, and your elders aren't kids. So when I swing my blade at them, I'm sure you can understand, right?"
Even Xiao Yan was stunned by that twisted logic. Damn, so this was how Lu bro justified his actions? Genius.
"You little bastards!" The middle-aged man, realizing he had been played, roared in fury. His battle aura surged, forming a protective armor around him as he swung his blade at Lu Xian.
Lu Xian remained expressionless. With a casual flick of his steel needle sword, he whispered, "One Sword—Immortal's Kneel."
Mid-air, the middle-aged man's legs bent involuntarily. His weapon flew from his hands as he crashed to his knees, skidding to a stop at Lu Xian's feet. His palms, now full of embedded steel needles, bled profusely.
Xiao Yan didn't hesitate. His sword flashed across the man's throat, spraying blood across the floor.
The Great Fighter was dead.
"Boom!"
The library's heavy doors were blasted open. They searched the first and second floors—empty. On the third floor, they found four young children and a few frightened women huddled together.
"We'll fight you to the death!" The women charged forward, but they lacked any real strength.
Xiao Yan scoffed and swiftly cut them down.
Four children remained. Some glared with hatred, others sobbed in terror. Xiao Yan hesitated, his grip on his sword tightening. Despite his earlier words, facing these kids made him waver.
Lu Xian smirked. "If you can't do it, then their fate isn't sealed. But letting them go as they are isn't an option either."
He crouched before one of the older boys. "After tonight, will you seek revenge?"
"If you don't kill me, I'll wipe out your entire family!" the boy spat.
Lu Xian drove his sword straight into the boy's heart.
"A child harboring such hatred cannot be spared."
He moved on to the next.
"I won't seek revenge! Please don't kill me!" the child begged, crying.
Lu Xian stabbed him too. "A coward with no loyalty cannot be spared."
The third child said nothing, only glaring at them with deep resentment.
"Silent? That means you're scheming. Can't be spared."
The fourth boy calmly said, "Kill me. My parents are dead. I have no reason to live."
Lu Xian studied him, then smiled. "Now that's a boy with loyalty and honor."
The boy sighed in relief—only for Lu Xian to stab him as well.
"You had loyalty, so I'm sending you to reunite with your family."
Xiao Yan: …
Lu Xian clapped Xiao Yan on the shoulder. "Just a difference in standpoints." Then he turned and walked away.
A voice drifted down the stairs.
"Make sure to finish them off. Some people have their hearts on the right side, you know."
