Sunlight flittered into the storage room through the old slats of the window, spilling golden lines across the floor. Everything had returned to normal, as the effect of his resonance bond with Timofey had worn off.
His floating restoration tools were nowhere in sight, already tucked back inside his repository. Yet, the curiosity in those big round eyes that kept glancing his way didn't fade away.
Timofey sat cross-legged on the rolled wool blanket, munching on a flatbread that Auri bought before sunrise. His gaze had drifted away from breakfast and settled squarely on Auri again, as if he had questions that needed urgent answers.
"Um..." Timofey started. "About the floating stuff…"
Auri bit into his own breakfast and gave a half-smile. "You're not gonna let that go, are you?"
Timofey's eyes only sparkled in anticipation.
"Thought so." Auri sat down beside him, arms resting on his knees. "It's not really that... you know, the 'M' word? Not the usual kind, at least."
