Chapter 25 - Securing beyond talents

*Adrian's pov:*

"As I gazed at her design, I was mesmerized. She had brought the concept to life with such finesse, it felt almost magical. When the judges' scores were tallied, she secured the second spot, narrowly missing the top by a single point. Mr. Emmanuel Clinton's feedback echoed in my mind - 'trendy, but with a touch of old.' Little did he know that her design would soon become the epitome of trendiness.

As the host, I was obligated to choose the first-place winner for my team. But my heart yearned for 'Mrs. Confidence.' Who was I to defy the rules, though? I, Adrian Huston, the business mogul who commanded respect and inspired awe.

With charisma oozing from every pore, I strode onto the stage, basking in the thunderous applause. I began my speech, my voice dripping with superiority. 'Good day, everyone. We've reached the culmination of this competition. I commend the finalists who made it this far - no small feat, indeed. As the host, I'm thrilled to have witnessed such exceptional talent.'

My gaze swept across the room, my eyes locking onto the Einstein family representative, Mr. Ken. 'As a token of appreciation, I'd like to offer the first position to the Einstein family. A humble gift, indeed.' My words were laced with sarcasm, but the audience was oblivious. I could sense the tension in the air as people wondered what I was really after.

Mr. Ken, the Einstein family representative, stood up, a hint of a smile on his face. 'I'm honored, Adrian. Your generosity is...unexpected. On behalf of the Einstein family, I accept your offer. We won't disappoint you.' He paused, his eyes narrowing slightly. 'Though, I must admit, I'm curious - what inspired your sudden...generosity?' His tone was polite, but I detected a hint of wariness, as if he was wondering what I had up my sleeve.

I smiled, my expression confident. 'Let's just say, Mr. Ken, that I'm always on the lookout for talented individuals who can help take my business to the next level. And the Einstein family...has a certain reputation for excellence.' I paused, my eyes glinting with amusement. 'But, of course, that's all just business. Nothing more, nothing less.''....

"With my response to Mr. Ken, the representative of the Einstein family, I had finally achieved the primary objective of this elaborate scheme. Now, with the first prize awarded to the Einstein family, I turned my attention to the real prize: Miss Stella Hornwell.

'Congratulations, Miss Hornwell,' I announced, my voice booming through the hall. 'Welcome to the Huston Group of Companies.' I could see the excitement and pride radiating from her face, and I felt a sense of satisfaction wash over me.

I glanced around the room, meeting the eyes of the other contestants. 'To the rest of the competitors, I want to assure you that your hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed. Each and every one of you has demonstrated exceptional talent, and I have no doubt that you will all go on to achieve great things.' I paused, surveying the room once more. 'As a matter of fact, the Huston Group is proud to offer all of you a chance to join our design department. If you're not satisfied with the offers you receive, our doors are always open.'

With that, I began presenting awards to the top three contestants, saving the best for last. As I handed Mrs. Confidence – Stella – her award, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. She was, without a doubt, an exceptionally talented individual – and I had every intention of making sure she knew just how much she was valued."
