On a Tuesday
It had been five years since Jin Shi joined the gang. With every mission, he continued to impress—always showing something new, something unexpected. His abilities were no longer in question, and he had become close to Hansuk, one of the gang's most respected members. Lately, they had been training together regularly, working on strengthening Jin Shi's physique.
Jin Shi's days were nothing like anyone else's. His life began at night and ended in exhaustion by morning. And that morning, after a long night of training and planning, he returned to his apartment hoping to get some sleep... but time wasn't on his side.
Tuesday.
The mandatory education day for the younger gang members. He sighed deeply, staring at the ceiling, helpless. Sleep had become a luxury he couldn't afford.
Dragging himself out of bed, he threw on his jacket and left his apartment, heading to the nearby shop to buy a pack of cigarettes—hoping the nicotine would snap him out of his haze.
On his way back, lost in thought, he accidentally bumped into a guy about his age. Jin Shi didn't even stop to look at him. He simply gave him a dull glance with his tired eyes and continued walking.
But the guy didn't let it slide.
He grabbed Jin Shi's shoulder and snapped,
"Aren't you going to apologize?"
Jin Shi slowly turned back and replied in a flat tone,
"Why should I? You bumped into me."
The stranger's expression darkened, his voice rising with arrogance,
"Do you even know who I am? I'll make sure you regret disrespecting me, you bas—"
Before he could finish, Jin Shi cut him off, clearly annoyed,
"Yah… With that pathetic attitude, you still need permission to start a fight?"
Infuriated, the guy tried to grab him to throw a punch. But Jin Shi was quicker. With one swift strike, the guy was down.
Unfortunately for them both, a police patrol had just passed by.
Minutes later, they were both sitting inside a police station—one looking miserable, the other bored out of his mind.
A tired-looking officer approached them with a clipboard in hand,
"Alright, someone explain—why were you two fighting?"
Jin Shi turned his gaze toward the window and muttered,
"Ask him. He started it."
