Chapter 108 - Chapter 108: Departure

Roa came to Xiao Die, whom he had first met, pointed at her mouth, and said, "I ask, you answer. Understand?"

She quickly nodded. Roa asked, "What's going on? You mentioned Kibutsuji Muzan earlier?"

Hearing this, Xiao Die instinctively looked at the red-clad woman beside her. The red-clad woman glared at Roa, and Roa stabbed the fruit knife into her heart.

The red-clad woman immediately grimaced in pain and no longer dared to glare at Roa.

Seeing that the red-clad woman had calmed down, Roa asked again, "What's your name? Oh, Xiao Die, right? A nice name, but you wouldn't want…"

He then pulled the fruit knife out of the red-clad woman and stabbed it into the ground.

At this moment, the ghost named Xiao Die was on the verge of collapse. She nodded in panic, and Roa, satisfied, untied the rope binding her head, held her head, and said, "Then, don't talk nonsense. Now, tell me everything you know."

Xiao Die's pretty face was covered in tears. She weakly said, "My lord, he took a fancy to a body, and then he asked me to deal with his descendants."

Roa raised an eyebrow, somewhat incredulously, "So, Kibutsuji Muzan, he…"

Xiao Die nodded, "He ate your entire family."

For a moment, Roa fell into silence. His mother, who went out to get her hair done and didn't return at night, and his father, who loved business and often didn't come home.

The two of them together were unlucky enough to be targeted by Muzan. What's going on? He had just transmigrated and already had both parents dead, with his father's identity taken over by the Demon King.

Roa expressionlessly looked at the four ghosts, still somewhat puzzled, "Kibutsuji Muzan sent you few to deal with me?"

Xiao Die said somewhat aggrievedly, "How could we gain the lord's favor? We are the weakest ghosts, only used to clean up small troubles."

Xiao Die's meaning was simple. She didn't know that Roa had such powerful strength, or perhaps no one could have imagined that this somewhat thin boy would have such powerful strength.

But that's what she said, though the actual situation was different.

This time, they were just unlucky to have encountered Roa's transmigration. If it had followed the original world line, the original body would have undoubtedly died.

Looking at the sky, it was already midnight, the darkest time of the night, but dawn was not far away. Roa didn't want to waste any more time and said to the two, "It's almost dawn."

Xiao Die looked at Roa with pleading eyes. Roa looked back at her, his golden eyes cold and emotionless.

She begged, "Please let me go. I promise I won't eat humans anymore. Really, look at my thin arms and legs. I haven't eaten many people."

Roa ignored Xiao Die's pleas, took out the rope again, stuffed it into her mouth, and tied her to the tree. He then looked back at the mess in the room.

The people had already run away, leaving only a pile of untouched food and wine.

Roa took out the wine, poured a cup, and took a small sip. A spicy sensation came, somewhat like white wine, but the taste was much worse, as if it had been distilled.

Looking at the dishes scattered on the ground, he shook his head regretfully, then turned his gaze to the four female ghosts and said indifferently, "Don't say I didn't give you a chance. You've become like this and still want to live? It's meaningless."

Roa pulled up a chair and casually chatted with the other person while sitting on the chair, waiting for dawn.

About an hour passed, and the darkness of the night was pierced by the first ray of light. Warm sunlight spilled from the sky onto the earth, and the warm rays shone on Roa, making him feel a comforting warmth.

In contrast, the four demon heads tied to the tree began to struggle in agony. The moment the light touched them, they turned to ash and dissipated. The demon blood on Roa's body also completely turned to ash and vanished under the sunlight.

Roa, who hadn't slept all night, yawned and got up from the chair, feeling somewhat bored. At that moment, a few guards and servants ran over from the entrance, looking at Roa with some trepidation as the bloodstains on his face continued to disappear.

Roa expressionlessly said to the guard beside him, "Bring all the valuable things from the house."

The servant glanced at Roa in a daze, instinctively nodded, and walked into the house.

Roa yawned again. He had originally planned to stay at home, but since he had come to the world of Demon Slayer and chosen the identity of a wealthy young man, there were still issues to deal with. If he stayed here, there was no telling when Muzan Kibutsuji might come knocking.

With his current strength, facing Muzan would likely result in him being worn down to death. While he might not necessarily lose, winning was out of the question, let alone killing Muzan.

The top priority now was to go out and gather more information.

Carrying a heavy bundle, Roa opened it and glanced inside. It was mostly jade and gold items, not a small amount, but not a lot either.

Roa asked the other person, "Is there any money left in the house?"

The other person grimaced and said, "The money in the house has already been mostly spent by you. Maybe you should wait for the master to return? He should still have quite a bit of money on him."

Roa curled his lips. This person was clearly a fool, suggesting he wait for Muzan Kibutsuji to return and start the final battle early? Roa expressionlessly said, "Forget it."

After saying that, he picked up the bundle and walked out of the house. The servant watched his departing figure in a daze, then suddenly seemed to remember something and hurriedly ran in front of Roa, blocking his path.

Roa raised an eyebrow and asked, "What's the matter?"

The servant said to Roa, "Are you leaving? Leaving this place?"

Roa nodded and said, "Yes."

The servant quickly added, "Can you take me with you?"

Roa tilted his head and looked at the servant, then suddenly laughed. "Why should I take you? Besides, the place I'm going is very dangerous. Here's some advice: leave this place as soon as possible."

After saying that, Roa swaggered off down the road.

Not long after, a Demon Slayer Corps squad arrived to investigate the area. What they found was a scene of chaos and battle scars on the ground. They also discovered a chipped fruit knife nearby.

"What's this… a fruit knife?"

His expression was confused, unable to believe the clues pointing to what had happened.

As Roa walked, he recalled the plot of Demon Slayer.

The plot of Demon Slayer was quite simple: it was a straightforward story of "demons eating humans, and humans killing demons."

A thousand years ago, the first demon, Muzan Kibutsuji, was born, and he used his blood to create other demons.

Demons possessed a vitality that couldn't be killed by ordinary means and strength that surpassed that of humans. They fed on humans. To resist the attacks of demons, the Demon Slayer Corps was established to hunt demons and protect ordinary people.

The Demon Slayer Corps mastered a power called "Breathing Techniques." By adjusting their breathing rhythm, they could inhale large amounts of oxygen into their bodies, enhancing their cardiovascular functions and gaining strength comparable to demons.

There were two simple ways to kill demons:

Exploit their weakness to sunlight by dragging them into the sunlight, causing them to turn to ash.Use a Nichirin Sword forged from special ore to decapitate the demon.

Both methods were effective in dealing fatal blows to demons. However, other weapons were largely ineffective against them.

Among demons, there were powerful ones known as the Twelve Kizuki, divided into Upper and Lower Ranks, with clear distinctions in strength and hierarchy.

Similarly, the Demon Slayer Corps had internal rankings based on strength and status.

Demon Slayers were generally divided into ten ranks: Kinoe, Kinoto, Hinoe, Hinoto, Tsuchinoe, Tsuchinoto, Kanoe, Kanoto, Mizunoe, and Mizunoto. Kinoe was the highest rank, and Mizunoto was the lowest. The higher the rank, the stronger the Demon Slayer, and the better their treatment, status, and authority within the Corps.

However, Kinoe was not the highest rank in the Demon Slayer Corps.

The Corps had one leader and nine Hashira.

The leader was the person in charge of the entire Demon Slayer Corps, acting as the brain of the organization. Everything in the Corps was essentially managed and regulated by the leader.

The Hashira, on the other hand, were the nine most respected swordsmen who supported the Corps. They were the strongest existence, surpassing all other ranks.

They were named after the Breathing Techniques they used.

For example, the five basic Breathing Techniques in this world were Flame, Water, Wind, Thunder, and Stone. Those who mastered a Breathing Technique and reached the pinnacle of their respective style would be named after it.

The Hashira who used Flame Breathing was called the Flame Hashira.

The Hashira who used Water Breathing was called the Water Hashira.

And so on. The nine Hashira were named in this way, each using the Breathing Technique they mastered.

Of course, while the Hashira were strong, they were still no match for the Upper Ranks. The current strength of the Hashira was generally between the Lower Ranks and the Upper Ranks. Except for the Stone Hashira, few could single-handedly take on an Upper Rank.

This was the awkward situation the Demon Slayer Corps faced. Their foundation had experienced a rupture, making it impossible for them to contend with the Demon King.

Demon Slayer had another name: Hashira Slayer. The number of Hashira who died was not just one or two. At its worst, almost the entire Demon Slayer Corps was wiped out.

Thinking of this, Roa couldn't help but sigh. Demons were truly filthy creatures in this world. They transformed from humans into immortal monsters, tearing at human flesh and sucking human blood. They were truly ugly creatures.

As the morning light filled the land, Roa unknowingly walked into a village. Villages like this were common, and you could see small settlements like this every so often. The villagers looked at Roa with strange expressions.
