A month later.
Total villagers: 40 people + 3 pets
Total houses & mini apartments: 2 + 1
The village atmosphere had started to become a bit fancy, with stone houses, attractive decorations, and cobblestone pathways.
With nothing much to do, Kai slowly grew lazy and began lying on his bed most of the time.
The villagers adapted easily and learned quickly using the methods from Earth. Work was divided—while the men hunted, gathered building materials, and helped Vix in his workshop,
the women handled simpler tasks like farming and tending to livestock, such as wild chickens and deer.
Rose and the others began sensing something was wrong with their brother. His lazy attitude had returned after all his efforts in building up the village. They didn't know why, but something must have happened that night a month ago...
The scene shifts to that night when Kai went out alone.
Kai sat by the campfire by himself, but before long, the woman who always visited him at night took a seat beside him. This time, however, something was different. Without a word, she raised her finger and lightly pressed it against Kai's forehead.
Suddenly, his memories surged—flashes of his past dreams resurfaced, vivid and overwhelming...
"Where the hell am I now?"
The room was extravagantly luxurious, designed in a classic style like something from a palace. By the window, a girl sat lost in thought.
Knock knock...
"Princess, I've brought your breakfast."
A maid dressed in a traditional uniform entered, walking straight toward the girl—but she passed right *through* Kai as if he were nothing more than a wandering spirit.
"Princess, your food is here. And please don't be late—you must meet your fiancé soon. We need to arrange this marriage quickly before your brother returns."
The girl by the window turned her face toward the maid, and Kai, standing behind the maid, froze.
She looked exactly like Rose.
Kai's vision blurred again—this time, he saw what looked like a wedding between Rose and a man. They appeared happy, with no signs of trouble.
Then the scene shifted once more.
Now, Rose was locked in a prison cell, her body emaciated as if starved, covered in wounds.
"Fuck! What happened?!"
Kai rushed toward her, but his hands passed right through—he couldn't touch her.
The sound of footsteps echoed, followed by the metallic scrape of chains dragging across stone.
A man with his entire face and head wrapped in burlap—only holes for eyes and mouth—stood before them, his body covered in scars. Without hesitation, he swung an axe and decapitated Rose right in front of Kai.
Her head fell slowly, rolling across the ground until it came to a stop perfectly at Kai's knees, staring up at him.
Kai froze. His body went numb. His mind emptied—nothing but white noise and Rose's lifeless gaze.
Then—the scene shifted again.
Suddenly, he was back on the battlefield, kneeling beside an emperor who bore his own face. The ground was soaked in blood. In his grip—someone's severed head. With a twisted smile, he raised it high for the enemy forces to see.
Meanwhile, on the enemy's side—an older man wearing a crown seethed with rage, his fingers digging into the armrests of his throne as his subordinates carried him forward.
Then, all at once, they roared in fury—
"ARRRGHH!!"
Kai sat motionless, head bowed, until finally...
The scene shifted once more—this time, to the place where he first arrived in this world.
The Emperor, now weak and drained, sat slumped beside a grave. Kai was terrified to look at it.
But as the Emperor lay back and closed his eyes... a name became visible on the tombstone:
Rose.
Tap! Tap!
Someone tapped Kai's shoulder, jolting him awake.
"Brother, why are you sleeping here? Go back inside."
It was Rose—she had come looking for him.
Without a word, Kai suddenly pulled her into a bone-crushing hug. Rose stiffened, trapped in his grip.
"WTF are you doing?! Let me go!"
She struggled, but couldn't break free. That night... she finally gave up and let him hold her.
---
Present Time
"Brother!!!"
"When are you going to wake up? You've been lazy for a whole month!"
Rose tried pulling on her brother's clothes, but he was too heavy. Kai rolled over and suddenly grabbed her, pulling her into a hug.
"What do you want me to do? We've already progressed so fast. The people are happy with their lives here."
She tap-tap-ed his hand, which was covering her mouth.
"Looks like you've got nothing useful to say. Don't disturb me—go find someone else."
Kai released his sister, turned away, and closed his eyes.
Rose couldn't do anything more. *Something must have shocked him deeply... his spirit seems broken.
She left the room and closed the door behind her. The moment she was gone, Kai—who had shut his eyes—opened them again.
He got out of bed and sat on the wooden chair by the small table next to his bed.
Kai remained lost in thought, unable to forget his dream. His mind was now consumed by endless " What if..." questions, tormenting himself over and over.
Meanwhile, Rose left the room and headed to where the villagers were relaxing. She sat down with a heavy sigh.
"How's the boss? Everything okay?" someone asked.
Rose could only shake her head.
"Let's give him time."
"Even if he's withdrawn from us now, he still gives us ideas and assigns tasks. At least the village isn't falling into chaos."
A somber silence fell over them—everyone missed the cheerful, lively Kai from before.
"Well, it is what it is. We should get back to work now. See you guys later."
As night fell, Kai stepped out of his house and wandered alone, his movements sluggish—like a man who had lost everything in the world.
Midway through his walk, three tiny lights appeared, circling around him.
He stared at them, then slowly extended his hand. The lights darted toward his palm, swirling faster and faster until they created a small whirlwind.
The vortex grew larger, and soon the lights began orbiting Kai's entire body.
Then—the wind lifted him off the ground.
"Shit! These things are trying to make me fly?!"
Kai fought to break free, but the lights held him tight. Higher and higher he rose, 200 meters above the earth, helpless.
Struggling, he finally looked down at the landscape below—and what he saw stunned him into silence...
