Ronan's POV
"Run," Kieran whispered to Sienna.
I grabbed them both by the shoulders. "This way!" I yelled over the Queen's terrifying transformation. The darkness flowing from her twisted body was unlike anything I'd ever seen.
We raced through the bush, Kieran supporting Sienna as her legs threatened to give out. The Queen's terrible voice echoed behind us, shaking the trees.
"What just happened back there?" I panted as we ducked behind a fallen log. "Zekehe sacrificed himself."
Sienna's eyes were red from crying. "He saved us all. My brother..." She hid her face in Kieran's chest.
The sound of snapping trees made us freeze. Syndicate guards were spreading through the woods, hunting us.
"We need to split up," I said, making a quick plan. "Kieran, get Sienna to the safe house. I'll lead them away."
Kieran's eyes narrowed. "Why should I trust you, Phantom?"
"Because right now you don't have a choice," I snapped. "I know these woods better than you."
