It's been three weeks since I arrived in the world of the Light First Being. Honestly, I'm quite bad at combat class.
During training, my stamina is terrible I can only train for about an hour before getting exhausted.
That's a major issue since I need to find a way to extend my stamina somehow.
If I rely solely on training, I'll never reach the top.
'At my current potential, I'd have to train every single day for the next thirty years just to be able to defeat a Viscount-rank demon, and even then, I'd probably need an army to back me up.'
That said, I actually enjoy the theoretical classes.
I can't wait to experiment and apply what I learn.
Aside from training, I've been focused on trading and investing. I've been converting a lot of gold into riel, buying stocks, and even placing my money in a private bank to manage my assets and acquire various properties.
The bank itself is a startup, so I invested in it as well acquiring a 20% stake.
One interesting discovery I made was about storage artifacts.
The key to the vault operates very differently from the storage ring I purchased. The storage ring keeps items within the gem embedded in it,
while the vault key seems to open a portal to a physical location.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to expand the portal enough to fit inside yet, so I have no idea what the vault actually looks like or where it's located.
Over the past week, I've been keeping an eye on Cassian and Harry. Every now and then, while moving between classes, I'd catch glimpses of them talking.
At first, it was nothing noteworthy, just casual conversations, but as time went on, they seemed to be getting closer.
That alone wouldn't usually be worth worrying about, but something about it didn't sit right with me.
Curious, I decided to ask Cedric to investigate this Harry guy.
What he found was… interesting.
Harry Link wasn't just some ordinary student he was part of the Elite 10, a group of the academy's strongest students.
He was already well-known across the campus, mainly because he had formed a student-led team that successfully defeated a Demon Baron. That's an insane feat, even for a group effort.
But what stood out to me the most was his team itself.
His group wasn't just made up of random strong students it was an incredibly diverse collection of talent.
Among them was the so-called "Child of Light," an Otherworlder, and multiple elite students from different classes.
What was even stranger was that they weren't all from Class A1, the so-called "Apex Class." Instead, his team ranged from A1 all the way down to D2. Some of them were oddly ranked, as if the academy had made a mistake in placing them.
And then, there was Cassian.
From what little I could overhear in passing, it sounded like she had accepted The deal with Harry.
That alone was surprising, but what truly caught my attention was how well Harry seemed to understand her.
He handled her rebellious nature with an ease that felt unnatural.
It wasn't just that he understood her combat style anyone who had observed her fights enough could piece that together.
No, he understood her far deeper than that. The way he spoke, the way he responded to her... it was as if he had studied her for years.
But that didn't make sense.
Harry had only been summoned into this world four days before me.
That wasn't nearly enough time to learn that much about someone, not unless he had access to knowledge beyond what he should.
And that raised a very troubling question.
'Was he like me?'
I clenched my fists at the thought, shaking my head.
"Maybe I'm just overthinking things again," I muttered under my breath.
Ever since I arrived in this world, it felt like I was constantly running.
Every day was another battle for survival, another scheme to make sure I wouldn't be left behind.
I barely had time to breathe, let alone think clearly.
The stress was eating away at me, making me see threats in every shadow.
But still…
I exhaled, rubbing my temples as I tried to push the paranoia away.
"Haa…"
Even if I was just imagining things, I couldn't afford to ignore Harry.
I sat in the cafeteria, absentmindedly poking at my dinner. The food was still warm, but my appetite was barely there.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw them.
'Cassian and Harry.'
Again.
They sat together, eating side by side, as if it was the most natural thing in the world. My fingers tightened slightly around my fork.
'Why are they always together now? Are they… dating or something?'
The thought was so ridiculous that I nearly scoffed out loud.
But still, the way they acted it was too familiar, too comfortable. Something about it didn't sit right with me.
And I wasn't the only one who noticed.
They were getting a lot of stares.
It was as if a pair of celebrities had casually walked into a small-town diner, leaving the locals completely dumbfounded. Some students whispered among themselves, others just gawked in silent curiosity.
They didn't seem to care.
Finishing their meal, they stood up and walked out together, continuing their conversation as if nothing was unusual.
Meanwhile, I just sat there, staring at my untouched food like an idiot.
'How long have I been sitting like this? Ten minutes?'
A few people were casting me strange glances, clearly wondering why I was just frozen in place, glaring at my plate like it had personally offended me.
'Ignore the weird looks.'
Shaking off my thoughts, I hurriedly finished my meal and left the cafeteria.
The night air was cool as I walked along the path toward my dorm.
The academy grounds were dimly lit by the soft glow of enchanted lanterns, casting long shadows along the cobblestone paths. I was lost in thought when I suddenly stopped.
Cassian.
She stood ahead, surrounded by a group of girls from Class C and B. My instincts flared, and I quickly stepped off the path, slipping behind a bush.
'Four girls.'
The one in the center, who seemed to be the leader, had long black hair and piercing red eyes.
Even from here, I could tell she was from Class B her uniform was a little more refined, her posture exuding quiet authority.
Something about this felt… off.
Lowering myself slightly, I strained my ears to catch their conversation.
"Do you really think someone as lowly as you can have Harry?"
The black-haired girl sneered, arms crossed as she looked down at Cassian with contempt.
"Yeah, she's just some nobody." One of her lackeys chimed in with a smug grin.
"You should just know your place and walk away," the black-haired girl continued.
"Harry is a hero summoned here to save this world. Unlike you, a lowly worm from Class D. You don't even deserve to be my slave."
Her words dripped with arrogance, and her group of followers laughed in agreement.
"Maybe we should just teach her a lesson, Miss Alisa," one of them suggested.
'Alisa so that was the name of the leader.'
Her red eyes glowed with barely concealed fury as she took a threatening step forward, her fingers twitching as if she was ready to cast a spell.
Yet, through it all, Cassian only smiled.
Not a nervous smile. Not one of fear. But an amused, taunting grin.
"Go ahead," Cassian finally spoke, her voice laced with amusement. "Try it."
Alisa froze, and so did her followers.
Cassian lifted a finger and pointed behind them to the surveillance camera watching their every move.
An unauthorized fight would lead to expulsion.
Alisa clenched her fists, seething in frustration.
"Tsk! Just you wait, you worm."
She spat the words out like venom before turning away. Her lackeys hesitated but quickly followed behind their fuming leader.
Cassian only chuckled, shaking her head as she continued walking toward her dorm.
From my hiding spot, I exhaled slowly.
'Well, looks like it's over.'
I stood up, brushing off my uniform, and stretched my arms.
'Guess I'll head back to sleep.'
The walk to my dorm was uneventful, the moon casting long shadows over the academy grounds.
My body felt heavy with exhaustion, and by the time I reached my door, a long sigh escaped my lips.
"Haa… I'm so tired."
I pushed open the door, stepping inside—
And froze.
My breath caught in my throat, and the bag of food I was carrying slipped from my fingers, hitting the floor with a dull thud.
There, sitting at my desk, one leg crossed over the other, was her.
The soft glow of mana pulsed faintly around her form, casting eerie shadows on the walls.
Her long, raven-black hair cascaded over her shoulders like silk, framing a face both delicate and cold, shimmered under the dim light, and her abyssal voids eyes gleamed with amusement.
She smiled.
"Hello, Daimon. My darling."
it was Liris.
