Chapter Two: Qualified
Dao Li and his crew advanced up the Blue Rose Mountain, hunting a Tier 4 Mutated Beast, commonly known as a Sacred Ancient Beast among the Radients.
(No one knows about the existence of Tier 5 beasts.)
Dao Li was skilled with spears, but unfortunately, he lacked a Spirit Treasure suited for it. Instead, he possessed a Tier 1 claw and a Tier 2 dagger, weapons designed for close combat. The biggest issue? He was still not completely Awakened.
Every Awakener sent to the Daylight Shelter was incomplete. To truly Awaken, one had to merge with an Evolution Crystal that had at least 60% compatibility with them. But in Dao Li's case—

Dao Li and his team continued their climb. A beast soon appeared before them— a massive orangutan, feasting on a blue-furred deer with dark horns.
It was their target.
The Tier 4 – Dazzling Orangutan.
Lao Ning, the group's leader, raised her hand.
"It's here. Stay silent and surround it. Archers, hold your aim. Fire only if it attacks."
Lao Ning was a Tier 3.5 Awakener, standing on the threshold of the Earth Rank—far stronger than Dao Li, who hadn't even Awakened yet.
Dao Li positioned himself at the edge of Blue Rose Mountain, a bow in hand and arrows strapped to his back. He was assigned as an archer, responsible for covering the melee fighters and striking when necessary.
From the ground, the Dazzling Orangutan leaped onto a tree, climbing to the highest branch in mere seconds.
Lao Ning clicked her tongue. "It noticed us. Kill it!"
Her figure blurred as she lunged toward it, slashing at its belly.
The Dazzling Orangutan may have been enormous, but it was alarmingly fast. Even an Earth Ranker like Lao Ning struggled to land a clean hit.
The beast roared, its blood-red eyes flashing with rage.
Whoosh!
The orangutan's massive hand swung toward Dao Li, aiming to crush him.
But before the impact—
Lao Ning appeared and grabbed him, pulling him away just in time.
Dao Li gasped, staring at the girl who had just saved his life.
"Why did Ms. Yu recruit you into The One Shot Guild?" Lao Ning asked, her tone dripping with disdain.
Dao Li swallowed back his gratitude. So that's what she thinks of me…
Lao Ning let go of him and dashed back into battle.

Minutes passed.
The Dazzling Orangutan was forced onto a cliff's edge—Lao Ning on one side, the chasm on the other.
The beast trembled. It was trapped. But instead of fear, an overwhelming bloodlust radiated from its body.
"Archers!" Lao Ning commanded.
Dao Li and the others aimed their bows.
The Dazzling Orangutan's fur turned deep crimson.
Lao Ning lunged, stabbing its shoulder.
Every archer loosed their arrows.
The Orangutan roared, sending out a terrifying shockwave.
All the arrows… bounced off.
Even more horrifying—every Awakener below Earth Rank spat out blood.
Dao Li, who wasn't even Awakened yet, staggered, his vision blurring.
He was barely holding himself together when—

Dao Li's breath hitched.

Just then, Dao Li vanished—
And reappeared right behind the Orangutan.
In his hand, a dagger materialized.

Dao Li's mind blanked. What the hell is this?!

The Dazzling Orangutan turned, sensing something amiss.
Dao Li had no time to think.
He shoved the dagger into his sleeve, pulled out his bow, and aimed—
But before he could release the arrow, the Orangutan blurred and appeared behind him.
BAM!
Dao Li was sent flying into a tree, coughing up blood.
He forced himself up, trembling.
The Dazzling Orangutan grabbed him, crushing his bow.
He was thrown to the cliff's edge.
Dao Li looked toward Lao Ning.
She was frozen. Literally.

«All time will remain frozen until you kill the Dazzling Orangutan»
What?!
"You've got to be kidding me!"
The Dazzling Orangutan roared, rushing toward him.

Then, he punched the Orangutan.
The beast laughed.
It ignored him.

The Orangutan's body split in two.
