Chapter 17 - Blasting Through Barriers

Death continued to guide Jacob on the intricacies of cultivation, where he assimilated the ambient mana within his being without adhering to any specific pattern to the madness. He gradually directed it to every extremity of his body until it could accommodate no further.

Jacob was informed that normally someone with his current physique would be born in the atleast the Nascent Soul realm. Jacob continued to absorb the surrounding mana into his body as it flooded his system without end.

About 5 hours later, Jacob felt as though he could hold no more mana without causing himself pain. His body felt unstable and stuffed. Death nodded at the sight and placed his hand on Jacob's forehead, directly imparting the method he would need to use to break through to the Foundation Realm and continue advancing into his mind.

Jacob began to follow the instructions in his mind as he began to forcefully take the reins of the mana swirling in his body. Although the mana followed his every whim as a favored child of the cosmos, the sheer immensity of the amount flowing through his body made it slightly difficult to control it all.

Slowly but surely, Jacob got the mana in his body under control, becoming faster with each completed cycle. Soon enough, he was cycling his mana through his body as if on autopilot.

As the process went on, the mana was filtered to a purer form and gained a specific attribute that perfectly suited him and would, in the future, enhance the strength of all his techniques.

Soon, every pore in Jacob's body was saturated with purified mana, and a luminous aura enveloped him. Unlike the typical translucent and opaque hues of mana, his essence manifested as a dark velvet, interlaced with subtle traces of black.

Death whistled in appreciation as he then instructed Jacob to form his Core and enter the Golden Core Realm. The process was somewhat distinct, as Death taught Jacob how to simultaneously activate and cycle his bloodline while he meticulously crafted his core. This approach enabled him to achieve a harmonious attunement between his core and the formidable power of his bloodline.

With the activation of his bloodline, Jacob's eyes and hair transformed into a deep crimson hue, and his physique grew increasingly resilient. After a period of diligent practice, he mastered the art of cycling his bloodline, subsequently embarking on the simultaneous gathering and condensing of all the mana within his body, concentrating it into a singular point just above his navel.

When all the mana was gathered into the singular point, Jacob began using a technique imparted to him by his teacher to envelop the mana in the power of his bloodline, using it to further condense his core and link it to both.

When the connection was completed, Jacob felt it resonate through every fiber of his being. Unbeknownst to him, at that precise moment, on a distant planet shrouded in crimson hues, a robust elder, adorned with a formidable great sword slung across his back and clad solely in tattered cloth pants and armored shoulder pads, opened his eyes.

This individual was the patriarch of the blood berserker lineage within this galaxy, and he had sensed a profound resonance within his bloodline concurrently as Jacob successfully forged a connection between his core and his bloodline.

Death glanced upward, a frown etching his brow, before gesturing with his hand to obscure Jacob from all forms of divination. The ancient patriarch residing in that enigmatic galaxy, who had been utilizing his lineage to trace the origins of the resonance, abruptly severed all ties to it.

He was momentarily taken aback as a primal fear unfurled within him, merely from tracing the origin of the resonance. He promptly dispatched all the warriors of the Blood Berserker Clan to seek out those who bore the vestiges of their lineage, for once they approached closely enough, they would inevitably feel the resonance reawakening within their bloodlines and would return with their findings.

Death snorted as he observed the actions of the patriarch and turned his attention back to Jacob, who was just about finished forming his Golden Core completely.

"Now usually with the amount of soul energy you have, one could also blast through the Nascent Soul Realm but I have something else in mind." said Death to Jacob.

Jacob slowly stood up from his cross legged seated position and bowed towards Death ready for this eccentric teacher to guide him.

As Jacob braced himself for another tedious technique he was surprised by what his teacher actually said. "Five years!?" Jacob asked.

Death had informed Jacob that, due to the many transformations he had recently undergone, he was to wait for five years before pursuing any aspirations of advancement. This interval would allow his soul the necessary period to acclimate to his new body while simultaneously enabling his body—far superior in strength—to fortify his soul.

Death then imparted a technique to Jacob that he was compelled to master, for he would be unable to depart from the cave until he could execute the technique as effortlessly as one breathes. A technique he would be required to practice without pause for the ensuing five years, even in his sleep.

Jacob was stuck in the cave for about two months until he could perform the technique while exercising, eating, sleeping, and fighting. Death taught him a few techniques for movement, stealth, and combat during the last two months, though, he had not completely mastered them and had only scratched the surface.

Well, that was to be expected from a technique that Death himself considered to be the very best. Luckily, he was allowed to master the techniques at his own pace.

When Jacob finally mastered the soul technique, executing it seamlessly regardless of the circumstances, he was at last permitted to exit the cave and return home. The technique was one that he was told would slowly condense his soul and his body, strengthening and fortifying it, and would also attune his soul to his bloodline power which would play a major roll in his future strength.

Jacob found himself unwilling to endure a wait of five years to strengthen his abilities, particularly after having swiftly ascended through numerous realms. He had been clearly informed of the potential to progress to the Nascent Soul Realm, yet he remained in favor of the reliability of his mentor's advice, convinced that it would not lead him astray.

Although he exhibited peculiarities and eccentric behaviors, such as gazing upwards at random intervals and chuckling for no apparent reason, who was he to pass judgment on someone immeasurably more formidable than himself?
