However, with the Blood Red Nine-Headed Bat King forcibly extracted, the balance of the original King of Slaughter's body was completely shattered. Although Tang Chen regained his sanity, his body was left in a state of utter ruin, no longer qualified to continue the divine trial.

The trials on the Sea God Island had made it clear: failure in an ordinary trial would result in expulsion from the island at worst, but failure as the next inheritor of a god meant there was no retreat—only death.

Initially, upon sensing Tang Chen's failure in the Asura Divine Trial, the Asura God had intended to quickly arrange for Tang San to begin the next divine trial. However, he soon realized that Tang Chen's situation was particularly dire.

The life or death of a mortal was of no concern to the Asura God. What troubled him was that Tang Chen's opponent happened to be the inheritor of his arch-enemy's godhood—a situation he could not tolerate.

Perceiving the vast disparity in strength between the two, the Asura God grew curious about testing the capabilities of the Angel God's inheritor. If she could be slain, it would eliminate future troubles.

In the Asura God's original plan, Tang San was supposed to annihilate both the Angel inheritance and the Spirit Hall, which had been established by the previous Angel God. However, plans often change faster than expected. His failed inheritor had unexpectedly encountered the Angel God's successor first.

Thus, from afar in the god realm, the Asura God directly activated the dormant Asura divine power within Tang Chen's body, which should have been impossible to access.

But just as the Asura God considered channeling more divine power into Tang Chen to tip the scales, he unexpectedly discovered a third presence nearby—the new inheritor of the Sea God. This revelation made him hesitate, especially when Ye Wen shot him a knowing smile, causing the Asura God to refrain from taking further action.

"The Sea God is always sticking his nose where it doesn't belong," the Asura God muttered in irritation.

"Still, this new Angel girl seems rather weak. Let this failure test her mettle. It'll make it easier to assign Tang San to deal with her later."

Though the Asura God was somewhat displeased with the current situation, he wasn't about to personally intervene against a mere Tier 2 goddess.

Moreover, under the Asura God's divine gaze, Qian Qian's essence wasn't that of the former Angel God, so their conflict wasn't as severe.

After all, there was already a new Angel God, and as a God King preparing to leave the god realm, he doubted others would risk collapsing the god realm by provoking him.

Such was the confidence of the Asura God as a God King.

"Still, I can't stand these self-righteous bird-brained angels," the Asura God grumbled in annoyance.

At this moment, Tang Chen and Qian Qian were locked in an intense battle, each attack capable of leveling hundreds of meters of land.

Despite being bolstered by the Asura God's divine power, Tang Chen still fought with great difficulty. Hoping for a reprieve, he called out once more,

"Little girl, why don't we call it a truce? Continuing like this benefits neither of us."

It wasn't that Tang Chen believed he would lose.

Rather, he knew his body was on its last legs and didn't have much time left. He wanted to spend his final days seeking out the woman he revered, not wasting his remaining life fighting a child he suspected might be his old friend's granddaughter.

Qian Qian felt deeply humiliated.

Though she had only engaged in combat a handful of times, she had never neglected her training or practical experience. Yet here she was, struggling against an opponent whose paper stats were 20 levels lower than hers. She couldn't help but glance nervously at Ye Wen.

Ye Wen understood that this situation wasn't entirely Qian Qian's fault.

After all, the Angel God was originally just a Tier 1 god, while the Asura God was a God King. The disparity in divine power naturally bridged the gap between their strengths.

This brief lapse in focus gave Tang Chen, a seasoned fighter, the opening he needed. With a single hammer strike, he sent Qian Qian flying.

Seeing this, Ye Wen felt a pang of concern. After all, Qian Qian had been raised by him since childhood. He quickly intercepted her descent with precise force, preventing further injury.

Fortunately, the defense provided by the six-word divine armor was formidable, leaving Qian Qian only slightly disoriented.

After being caught by Ye Wen, Qian Qian felt a warmth in her heart, but it was quickly overshadowed by a surge of frustration and shame. She even avoided meeting Ye Wen's eyes.

"Are you alright, Qian Qian?"

Ye Wen instinctively asked, gently patting her smooth hair to comfort her. But realizing she was no longer the little girl she once was, he subtly withdrew his hand without a trace.

Meanwhile, Tang Chen, feeling unexpectedly revitalized, decided to test his limits against the seemingly impenetrable Six Directions Seal Absolute. Believing he now stood a chance, he prepared to flee.

Qian Qian, feeling a twinge of sadness from Ye Wen's distant gesture, quickly noticed Tang Chen's intentions and moved to intercept him.

However, Ye Wen placed a firm hand on her shoulder.

"Leave this to me. Your prey won't escape."

"Mm."

Watching Ye Wen's confident figure, Qian Qian's gaze softened momentarily before she naturally responded.

"All this preparation—we can't let you escape.

Divine Skill—Spatial Displacement! Snap!"

Ye Wen locked onto Tang Chen with his divine consciousness and snapped his fingers.

Just as Tang Chen was about to reach the edge of the barrier, he was instantly teleported back in front of them.

Tang Chen's combat instincts were razor-sharp. He immediately resumed his battle stance, his eyes warily fixed on Ye Wen and Qian Qian. Internally, he was utterly shaken.

Although spatial-type soul skills had long been categorized among the seven elements, very few people possessed such abilities. At least, Tang Chen had never encountered one before.

Thus, he was both profoundly shocked and deeply despairing. Facing such an enemy, his only option was to fight to the death—there was no other path.

"Kill!!!"

With a thunderous roar, Tang Chen unleashed his terrifying God of Slaughter domain. Still unsatisfied, he layered it with his exclusive Hao Tian domain.

At this point, Tang Chen resolved to hold nothing back. Though unleashing his full power would severely damage his body, with no other options left, he chose to fight recklessly, ready to burn everything to ashes.

Facing this overwhelming murderous aura, Qian Qian's expression shifted.

But standing beside her, Ye Wen softly reassured her,

"Fight with everything you've got, Qian Qian. No need to hold back.

We're no longer the weaklings who needed to hide our strength."

With those words, Qian Qian's eyes hardened with resolve. She charged forward fearlessly to meet Tang Chen's explosive assault.

"Angel Domain!"

In the world of Douluo, domains primarily functioned as amplifiers or suppressors. To resist such effects, only another domain could counter it.

In Ye Wen's view, the crimson-golden and golden domains clashed violently, while Tang Chen and Qian Qian fought fiercely at the boundary where the two domains collided.
