Hana Shimura:
Age 18
3rd year highschool student
Quirkless
Tenko's older sister
Her old dream of one day becoming heroes with her younger brother died a slow, remorseless death as she grew older. Not only was she quirkless, raised with a father who had a negative outlook on heroes, and has since found other passions, Hana also had to give up on any big dreams of hers after her family split and she was forced to grow up faster in order to help her mother with the transition. So much of her emotional energy went into her mom that she often neglected Tenko's emotional needs, resulting in a more distanced relationship between them. (Another reason he clung to his friendship with Y/n so dearly.)
Now that she is a little older and wiser, Hana is trying to make up for the gap in their relationship with the occasional gift from work or dragging him along with her on errands. He doesn't know how to respond to these, resulting in more time spent arguing than actual bonding.
At school she is rather shy and rarely speaks to anyone. She is an average student as well, even bad in some classes like math and science. Where she thrives, however, is in the creative arts. She loves creating costumes, doing people's makeup, and scaring the misbehaving actors into following the rules. She can be pretty scary when she needs to be. Behind the stage is her happy place, which is where she makes most of her friends. On top of school, she works part-time as a costume designer for her school plays, and is looking into entering a college geared more toward theatre and films at the moment.
Hana still loves her brother and fondly remembers when they used to play heroes together in secrecy. And though she has given up on this dream herself, Hana hopes that her brother can live-out their childhood dream for the both of them. She even made his hero costume herself, styled after their grandma's.
All-in-all, she's very sweet and carefree but might take a while to open up to people. Like, I'm talking a long while! Only recently has she opened up to the idea of dating one of her long time friends, a fairly popular actor in her school who's had a crush on her all throughout highschool. So far, they seem like a pretty good, promising match. Hana is very much the mom friend and accepts that role with pride, and she's never afraid to embarrass her little brother in public!
Anyways, back to the show! 👀
===========================
Forgot to mention you already did the USJ training thing. The only thing noteworthy however was how un-noteworthy it was. Just basic training. The strangest thing that day, in fact, was you. Everyone kept asking why you looked so on edge the whole time. You were just preparing mentally. Just in case the show decided to repeat itself here today even without a Tomura. When it ended, you were more embarrassed than anything.
---------------
"Mama, Mama, I have your present!!" You scurried into the kitchen with the newly bought figurine in hand. Chloe declared she didn't want any kind of special birthday party or cake, so you concluded that now would just have to be the time you surprised her with a present! It was her birthday, after all! Her 181st to be exact!
You stopped in the entryway of your kitchen, gasping at the sight of your mother on the floor. The kitchen cabinets cast a sharp shadow over her hunched body. Her back to you, the woman cupped her face in her hands, sobbing on the kitchen floor. ... Her tears collecting on the tile.
Why was she.. Why was she crying?? She didn't look hurt!
"Mommy, are you okay?!" You stumbled toward her. Your own heart ached, wanting to see your mother sad no longer.
"Hang on, Emmy! Mommy's having a moment right now.." She stretched her hand out behind herself to stop you. You halted in the middle of the kitchen, mouth slightly agape.
"...Mom.. I'm not Emmy."
"Right, right, Lizzy, I'm sorry..."
"No..... I'm (Y/n).." You began to worry. Was she alright?.. To forget her own child's name? You knew she had in the past adopted many children before, but, that was AGES ago!
"(Y/N)???!" Your mother's head spun around, hands flat on the kitchen floor. You flinched back a step, terrified by the intensity in her suddenly darkened eyes. The way they shook, bearing into your very soul as if staring right through you. There was..so much confusion. So much fear... So much hatred.. All directed your way. ... Such terrifying eyes watered again. "...No... No, you're not my (Y/n).."
"Wh... What?"
"THIRTY-SEVEN!"
---------------
"GHAH!" You sat up suddenly, skin sticky with sweat. As you panted, the sting of pain mellowed out, duller now as your breaths soothed some.
"...You alright, (Y-)"
"-Shut up, Nomu!" The corner bound one did as instructed, shutting up. You wiped away a few emerging tears and sniffed. "Mmhmhh!" Mumbling pathetically, on the verge of sobbing, you grabbed the phone off the short table beside you and called one of the few contacts you had.
""Hello? (Y/n)? Everything alright?""
"I HATE you!"
""What did I do this ti-?"" You hung up and threw your phone at the distant wall. Before it could collide and break, Kurogiri caught it in a small portal and redirected it onto a pile of dirty clothes, saving the device. You huffed, sinking back into your pillows and blankets. You stared with a grumpy expression at the well lit room, already full of morning sunlight.
Kurogiri stood glancing between you and the clock. "It's nearly-"
"-are you a f###ing alarm clock??!"
"Um.. no?"
"Then don't tell me what time it is." You dug a little deeper into the pillows and blankets somehow, glaring at the door across the room relentlessly. After only a couple minutes, the alarm went off beside you. Now you finally stood and readied yourself for the day. Today was Saturday, the day of the Sports Festival, so you wanted to be as prepared as possible. You grabbed your school uniform and bag of toiletries to bring into the bathroom with you.
Exiting your bedroom, you nearly bumped into another in the hall. It was that slimy, blond haired, two face b###### who could make you answer his questions with his quirk. Yet for some reason Kai decided right after the whole hostage thing was a good time to bring the man into your home.
You shoved past Nemoto in order to reach the bathroom first. "Out of my way, idiot."
"Woah.. Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed." He heartlessly chuckled.
You jeered back at him. "Someone woke up on the wrong side of the planet." Even you didn't really know what that was supposed to mean... Sick burn I guess?
You slammed the bathroom door behind you, making it everyone else's problem, and later appeared in your school uniform. Your mood by now had calmed into more of a passive, mildly annoyed at everything type. It mirrored Kai's, in fact, as he nearly brushed shoulders with you going the opposite way down the hall, but dodged the contact last second. He didn't say anything. Just uttered a grunt that said more than any paragraph could. 1. Idiot, step out of my way next time. 2. Ew germs. 3. Don't forget to eat breakfast this time or all the food'll go bad again. 4. Ew human. And finally 5. Don't you dare think I don't care about my personal space anymore just because I let you live.
You slid into the kitchen and glanced at the moderately sized table where plentiful food sat. So kindly provided by the cooking staff, a special dish set aside for your special diet of sorts. You ate alone, since somehow everyone else had eaten already. Guess they had reasons to be alive earlier in the day than you. After consuming all that needed consuming, you called to Kurogiri and he opened a portal to your usual spot: some random dark corner nobody walked by.
The excitement of the day swept you away almost immediately. First of all, there was no usual attendance or check-in. The moment you entered the classroom, half the class were already standing around talking, their athletic uniforms already on. Aizawa instructed you to change into your scrubs as well in case peer pressure didn't reach you yet. By the time you returned from the changing room, everyone was already openly sharing their battle plans, or lack thereof, with one another. Either that, or they were complaining about how badly they were going to lose or were already making tier lists of the kids most likely to win in their class. You settled down and took your seat, knowing that later you were going to wish for more chances to sit down. So, here was your chance. Well taken.
"Hey, (Y/n), I bet you're going to have no problems getting a high score today!" Tenko fell into your desk, palms placed flatly upon it to peer into your eyes better.
"Heh. Wish that were so, but my opponents aren't robots like in the entrance exam! Meaning I'll have to be super careful." Said while fidgeting with your gloves. As you played a tired smile for your old friend to view, Iguchi approached. Hands in his pockets and staring directly at you, he definitely had something in mind. Both you and Tenko turned your heads to him.
The animorph formed a fist to clear his throat into. Glaring almost at you, the teen's strict pinkish eyes stuck only on you. "If we make it to the final rounds.." starting "..know that I'm going to beat you."
Tenko gasped, glaring at his friend a little bit. "Iguchi! What is that all about?! It's rude to just declare war on someone for no reason!" But, staring up at the teen's reddish eyes, you knew the reason he had. You'd beaten him not all too long ago in a 5-v-1, after all. He just wanted a little taste of revenge and perhaps a confidence booster to boot. Something that proved that he was indeed getting better. That he wasn't just stuck at the bottom, destined to wind up somebody's replaceable sidekick. Not to mention there was no doubt a part of him wanting to do this for animorphs all around the globe. So maybe they'd start to be taken a little more seriously in the near future. Yes, you had a pretty good understanding of how this kid worked by now.
You extended your hand out to the other, open for him to take it. "Give it your best shot, man. Because I plan to do my best as well."
Iguchi grinned and took your hand, resulting in a very firm, competitive handshake between the two of you.
"Ayo wait! You guys already making deals over there!?" Kao Rami, aka dance boy, complained, bringing more of the class' attentions to your little handshake.
"Tuh! No way am I striking a deal with Diforester!" Again, you keep forgetting that is your last name here! "I was challenging her, in fact!"
"Ooo~"
"Oh~"
"OOooOo~"
"Rivalry~!"
You slapped your knee and laughed. Your classmates were adorable sometimes!
----------
After everyone was here and accounted for, your class piled into a bus and headed to the large auditorium. Only the earliest bunch were filling out the bleachers. Guards were positioned already, and all you kids were ushered directly inside to the break rooms, ooing and awing all the way. Even you were impressed. It had been a while since you'd seen such a huge stadium in person!
Once in the break room, one of your classmates rushed up to you all panicky. Ito, the paper king. "Diforester, Diforester! Can you help me out here?!" He ran up to you with a pen in hand. You turned from Iguchi, hands still in your pockets.
"Sure. What do you need drawn this time?"
"A Chinese Water Dragon if you don't mind! I feel like that would give me the most strength!"
"Heh, probably some flight and water breathing too."
"Unfortunately, I can't replicate any emitter quirks. But I guess I might be able to fly."
"Heck yes. Gimme that pen!" You both sat down and you started to draw, starting with the head of the dragon on the side of his face and going down the classmate's neck, shoulder, and arm with the long body of the beast. The more detailed and quality the drawing on his paper skin, the clearer his quirk functioned. And, since you were the best artist in class according to an early drawing competition on the chalk board, that meant he usually went to you for more refined art. You didn't mind one bit either. You liked to draw, after all. Just rarely given the chance to. And today was perfect because you still had half an hour before festivities began.
----------
Tenko sat on the table (Y/n) and Ito were at. He and Iguchi, along with Umitsuma Kato, aka weather boy, chatted casually about a few class 1B students who might be some major competition. Gradually, everyone grew more and more anxious as the clock clicked closer to the event's beginning.
No more than five minutes away, Tenko's phone buzzed in his pocket. "Hhh, I thought I told Hana not to call me during the Sports Festi--" His whole body froze the moment he read who was calling him.
One after another, everyone in the group stopped talking and watched the..almost terrified kid.
"..-I I have to take this." Tenny stood himself up. Everyone murmured a little about what it could be. Even you weren't entirely sure who it was.
-----
After slipping into the hallway, making sure he was alone, Tenko finally answered the call. His trembling hand held the phone up to his ear, a forced smile letting out his cracking voice. "Hh-he-hey, Dad!"
""Right, Tenko, this is your last chance to turn back. If I see you on TV today uselessly fighting for your life out there at the Sports Festival, I'm cutting all funds to your mother. Period.""
The boy nearly choked on his own breath. "No- Dad, please! Both Hana and Mom are already working so hard!"
""Then don't be the one to make their lives any harder. I'm sick and tired of you ignoring me and continuing to go to that d### school! This is my final resort and I will cut everything off from here if you fail to listen! You got that?!""
Tenko stared at the floor, tears gathering in his eyes, whole body trembling. Never before in his life did he ever want to kill somebody so bad! Forcing him to choose between the wellbeing of his family, who had already given up so much for him, and his life long dream of heroism?? What kind of sick play was this?! His smile was so unbelievably weak. "...Y-yes sir." Voice trembling. He hung up immediately after, slid his back down the wall, and sat there on the hard ground hugging his knees close.
As much as he wanted to become a hero, he also didn't want to be the reason for his family's suffering.
You won a game of Rock Paper Scissors with Iguchi over who got to check in on your friend first. You leaned your body through the door, spying the kid sitting there on the floor. "Tenny?"
"Hey, (Y/n)..." His voice was too meek and timid to even try coming across as happy.
"..What was the call about?"
"Nothing." Simultaneously wiping the face moisture away. He faked a grin. "I'm just nervous is all.."
"Hm.." You walked Tenko's way and knelt beside him. Hitting him on the head gently with the side of your hand, "bap." Making a derpy sound as it hit. "My lie director says otherwise." Tenko picked up your hand and pried it off his head.
"I'm not lying, (Y/n)."
"Sure-sure-sure, real sure, very sure." You slid your back down the wall too, seating beside him. "Don't feel pressured to tell me or anything. But at least acknowledge that not everything's peachy." You elbowed the littler one. He was quick to fake a half smile, trying his hardest to pretend everything was fine.
"No-no, seriously, (Y/n)!.. It's nothing to worry about." That distant look said otherwise, but before you could respond, the soft chime of a bell rang through the halls.
""All UA students, please make your way outside onto the field.""
"Teh." You clicked your tongue, glancing up at the ceiling. "Come on. Let's go." He didn't follow. Half standing, your eyes snapped down to the other. He was staring down at his lap, biting at his lip. You turned to face him, on one knee now as you reached out your hand. "I bet I'll win~"
"Huh??" Tenko's red eyes snapped up, sticking on that confident smirk of yours.
You repeated yourself. "I bet I'll win. I know how hard you've been training... But I've been training harder, and I'll prove it today."
Tenko's brows furrowed, a grin growing wide. "Wanna bet?" His hand slapped against yours, grabbing it firmly. You pulled him up as you yourself stood. Still holding hands, "I'll show you just how strong I've gotten."
You continued to grin, tilting your head and closing your eyes. "I can't wait to see it."
----------
"Kachan, Kachan, it's starting!!" Izuku tugged his friend over to the couch. The young blond allowed himself to be dragged along, his attention more on the applesauce squeezie than the screen itself. Lately, he'd been trying to act more and more like he didn't care about anything, because that was what all the cool people were like. But Izuku could see right through it, knowing the other was interested.
Entering Izuku's living room, "Didn't you just say your friend told you not to watch the Sports Festival this year?" They both hopped onto the couch.
"I'm sure it's just cuz (Y/n)'s nervous! She won't really mind!" Izuku kicked his feet, still wearing a boot, and Kachan scooted to the very back and leaned into the cushions to get comfortable. "Look! Look, I see her! There's (Y/n) and her friends!!" Izuku pointed out the dots of people on the screen, the camera actively zooming in to get a closer look at the UA students entering the arena single-file. The little Bakugo slurped more apple sauce, watching intently.
-----
"So you're saying my son's potential killer is out there..?" In the stadium, sitting closer to the front, Endeavor leaned back in his chair, arms tightly crossed over his chest. His glare was fixed on the students streaming into the field, narrow eyes taking special interest in anyone with white hair. "...Guess this would fit the age range..."
Tsukauchi, sitting beside Endeavor also with his arms crossed, leaned forward to give the firey one a questioning look. "Remember, this kid didn't actually kill Toya. So stop referring to them as his murderer.. Besides, with the whole clone situation going on, we don't really know which is the original and which isn't. For now, we are simply here to observe."
"Hmf." Endeavors frown deepened. In his eyes...whoever took his son's quirk was as good as his murderer.
...After all...
...Toya would still be alive if only he kept his quirk... He just knew it.
The hero's eyes widened after spotting a very tall white haired girl. The tallest student in class 1A, even. She stood out from her classmates in other ways as well. Her posture was well practiced, striding confidently, without a fear in the world.
"That has to be the one.." Pointing you out to the detective. "There. She's the one who stole my son's quirk." He could smell the stench of a his son's blood all the way from up here, not realizing it was because the blood was on his own two hands.
-----
Everyone stood out in the grass, staring up at a stage in the center of the stadium. The crowds all around were so colorful and bright. Surprisingly noisy as well, especially among the students' relatives.
A hole opened up in the center of the stage, protruding from it a small circular pillar which carried the hybrid principle himself. "Hello, everyone, it is me, support hero and Principle hero at UA. Whether I am a dog, bear, or mouse is irrelevant, because today I an here to give a big welcome to all you lovely people here attending the UA Sports Festival!" Nezu addressed the crowd, which yelled and cheered excitedly. "Before we begin with the daring challenges ahead, which will challenge each student in every conceivable way to see who comes out on top, let's hear from the student who ranked highest on the Entrance Exam, (Y/n) Diforester from Class 1A!" The crowd cheered again, including your classmates huddled all around.
You blushed a little as both Tenko and Iguchi shoved you forward, smirking at you as you went. Your fought against your joints with all your might not to lock up, sweat dripping from your forehead as you climbed up the stairs onto the stage.
You knew ahead of time about this. Just thought you'd have more time to prepare!
You bowed to the principle once at the center of the stage beside him. The mouse creature grabbed the microphone and the platform rose enough so that he could hand you the mic himself. He pat you on the arm and the platform shrank, which he jumped off of before it sank back into the floor boards. He stood back, allowing you to possess the space where he once stood. You reminded yourself again and again to remain calm. To ignore all the thousands of people, both online and in person, and instead focus your thoughts on what you had to say. You stretched the mic stand and placed the microphone back on it. That way you could gesture freely.
"...I honestly don't know what to say..." You admitted bashfully. Suddenly smirking, you decided to pull a Bakugo. "Just know that I'm gunna win." A small pause to let that sink in. Surprisingly, there were no high pitch shrieks or astonished gasps. Your smirk dropped, getting serious. "...But not just for me... I'm gunna win for all the kids out there who were born with a, quote-on-quote, villain's quirk." Your hands were tucked away into your pockets, hiding just how terribly they were shaking. You stared up at the auditorium ahead with a very stern, fixed look.
Izuku's brows tightened. "A villain's quirk..? Wings aren't scary.." He mumbled, unable to come up with an answer on his own.
Bakugo dropped his apple sauce squeezie on the couch... Was it just him.. or did that girl look and sound... familiar...?
A purple haired boy suddenly felt seen. Sitting in the bleachers to your right, his mouth fell open, eyes full of wonder.
Endeavor growled lowly, tightening his jaw. Yeah, no doubt this girl was the one. After all, what greater villain's quirk was there than one which simply couldn't function without stealing from others?
A young blond girl with messy pigtails scooted closer to the TV screen. Previously preoccupied playing with dolls, she now listened closely to what you had to say.
Aizawa leaned against one of the large open arch doorways, the most of vestiges watching from the darkness, all judging for themselves the words you dared to say.
Tenko held his breath.
You inhaled sharply. "To all the parents who fear their children just because they have a scary quirk.. remember that they're still just kids. Raise 'em right and you won't have to worry about them turning into villains... And for the kids who grew up just like me..." Your voice started to shake terribly, blue eyes jumping around every which way. "Thinking you were all alone and that the whole world hated you because of the way you were born.." You had to take a moment to breathe, or else risk letting the emotions and stage fright get to you all at once. A shaky hand rose, extending your pointer finger to collect a single, small tear. Still rubbing that from your eye, "...You are perfect just the way you are.. and you can be whatever you want to be." Your teary finger turned back in with the others to form a fist. Not knowing what else to do, you thrust it into the air, aiming to emulate All Might's signature stance. But your fist got stuck about halfway there. And you smiled bashfully now. "...I'm going to become the number one hero with a villain's quirk... You can try and stop me, but I'll win."
It didn't feel right, no matter what you did or said, to emulate the pose of the former number one hero. So, you settled for a halfway there sort of pose. One that still somehow became iconic all on its own. When the crowd started to cheer, the haze lifted, your anxiety took it's course, body struggling to move an inch afterward. Stuck there, you decided to simply bow and dip as fast as possible. So, that's exactly what you did. You bowed, then immediately after jumped off the stage to hide amongst your peers. They were still clapping as you vanished.
You found Iguchi and Tenko again, relieved to see their proud faces. The boys both slapped you on the back, congratulating you for your bravery.
-----
"Deku..." Kachan's whole face was ghostly pale. Izuku turned his head, horrified by the state his friend was stuck in. The blond's whole body trembled, hands fidgeting with one another aggressively now. "..Deku, I think your friend is the same girl who took my quirk."
"No she didn't!" Izuku shot the idea down immediately, returning his attention to the TV screen. He watched with broader eyes now, though, trapped and torn between siding with one good friend or another.
Hopefully, Kachan was wrong. Hopefully, you only had one quirk.
----------
As you walked in line back into the building, a bright red wing wove frantically on the edge of the balcony just above the door you were headed toward. Tenko, walking in front of you, strained his neck to see who that wave was for. You didn't even notice until Tenko pointed the winged guy out. "The heck is he waving at?"
Once your eyes lifted, spotting none other than Keigo, aka Hawks, up there among the crowd, leaning over the railing to get your attention, you smiled and waved back at him.
"AY, PRINCESS!" The smiling blond chimed.
"WHAT'S UP, PRINCE?!" Waving back. "IT'S BEEN A WHILE!" You bumped into Tenko, whose joints had completely locked up. "Oop. Sorry."
"Is he your boyfriend???" Tenko released a prepubescent squeak, starting to walk again.
"Pff, h### no. We just hung out one time a couple years ago."
"Where did the nicknames come from??"
"Long story." You smirked. Not like you could explain its origins anyways without revealing a few secrets.
As you got a little closer, Hawks cupped his hands around his mouth. "I just started my hero agency!! You should join me for work study next year!! Maybe even work with me permanently after you graduate!!"
Chuckling, you copied, "I'll have to think about it first, but thanks!!" Tenko kept suspiciously glancing between you and Hawks. He didn't even know who this guy was! Why were you guys acting like best buds?!
A little snappy, "Don't you want to start your own hero agency??"
Your hand finally fell at your side again, still smiling up at the guy on the balcony. Hawks was in his familiar hero costume and everything! So cute. "Um, yeah. But we all start somewhere." You shrugged. Not to mention working as an understudy for Hawks would not only be fun, but also a great way to build up a good reputation.
Hawks leaned so far over the ledge that his wings had to flap a to keep him from falling. "Mind seeing me outside?! I need to talk to you about something!!"
You cupped your hands around your mouth again. "Sure!!"
Tenko gasped. "What if it's a trap?!"
You wheezed. "It's not.
...I trust him."
----------
The hero students had the option to either get involved in or skip the more casual events set up for the general course students. You chose to be one of those who took a back seat here, checking up on Hawks instead.
After circling around the back of the stadium, you found Keigo chilling just outside one of the tunnel things. He waved. You waved, then approached casually, hands in your pockets.
"D###, you grew." The young man gasped, classic smirk at play as you neared.
"T'h." You clicked your tongue and mirrored that easygoing smile of his. "Yeah, I improved my diet a bit." The two of you entered the tunnel's entrance, chilling in the shade and leaning against the opposing walls casually. Looked like the same place canon Izuku talked to Shoto.. Heh.
Chuckling, "Mind sharing that miracle diet with me??"
"I'm afraid most of it's just genetics, bud." Laughing.
"D###..." Joining in.
...
"Anyways, we've only got like ten minutes left. So what's up?"
. . ☝️゚▽゚. . "I forgot everything about the doctor I was supposed to arrest."
"..You're kidding."
"Can't even remember which hospital we visited."
🤦 "Bro.."
Hawks threw his hands up at his sides. "In my defense, getting knocked out like that did a number to my head! That whole day is a blur!"
"Yeahhh, sorry." You rubbed the back of your neck, looking down. "Got a slip of paper or anything? I can write everything I know now."
Hawks handed you his phone instead, open to a notepad app. "This should work."
"Thanks." You grabbed the device and started a-typing. Anything you knew about the Doctor. From his real name to his stage name to his quirk and history, the location of the base under which hospital and some general notes about what to expect when raiding it. When he received his phone and had a look at the notes, Keigo's eyes flew wide open.
"Woah! Wow, you really delivered! Don't think I'll even need all of this information, but thanks!"
You shot the guy a finger gun. "Concluded with my phone number in case you need any more information."
"Sweeeet."
"Mind if I ask for a favor in return?"
"Yeh?" The blond looked up, noticing how seriously your facial features had shifted. "Something happen?"
"It's...my dad." Fixing him with a very serious look.
"Oh? The criminal?"
"Yeah, he... I want to help take him down, but there's a chance I won't even know when and where the siege is going down. I was wondering if you were involved in the case."
"For who--? Ohh.. wait... No way." He gripped his head with one hand, starting to laugh. "I can't believe I didn't see it until now. You're All For One's daughter, aren't you??" You nodded. "D###! And you knew about the case already?!"
Sliding your hands into your pockets again, "Yeah, I have something of a window into the hero world..." Eyes thinning, "but it's not nearly enough. In case my other source won't tell me where or when my dad's gunna be taken down, I'd like that information from you."
"Why, exactly?" Uncertainty driven, Hawks crossed his arms, leaning against the wall while tilting his head back. Guess this response was understandable.
You mirrored his posture. "What do you guys know about his current status? Specifically how well he's doing physically."
"Khhh..." Diverting his eyes to the outdoors, sighing. "We know his face has been destroyed and he's gone into hiding, still recovering, barely functional. That's why we're trying to form a plan as soon as possible while he's at his weakest."
"Well, with that mindset, you're all doomed to fail."
"Huh?"
"Not only is he fine physically, but he also now has an insanely powerful quirk which he can use to both blip people out of existence and reverse damage dealt to himself infinitely. The guy's basically immortal. He's only hiding right now to make you all think he's weak. In fact," eyes staring out at the wild landscape, "..I wouldn't be surprised if he's counting on another attack. It is, after all, the best way to take out the next wave of Japan's strongest heroes. Trust me. I know how he thinks. This is all a trap and that's why I need to be there for it." Your dead stare was cold and serious, the hand of yours that had been gesturing around for emphasis now standing still, pointing somewhat at the guy across.
Keigo stared down at the ground, scratching his still smooth chin. "That's... Concerning.. I'll have to tell everyone this somehow. But you can't even legally get involved yet."
"Cute you think I actually care about that, 'specially when it comes to this guy." Spoken dryly. "Not only will my dad not want to fight me, but if I grab just a couple more quirks, I bet I can beat him all on my own too... So, I'm the best chance you heroes got. And I've been training in combat for years now, so don't worry about me... Hhh, besides.." You stared into the darker end of the tunnel this time. "even if I get arrested, it's better than letting you guys die.."
Keigo's eyes jumped to look up at your face again. He found himself staring at your hardened, determined expression. His heart softened. To think you cared so much about he and the others; to risk ruining your reputation so early on. The respect he had for you grew even more. Made him wonder why there weren't more people on this planet like you.
""Will all the first year contestants for the UA Hero Course please gather at Gate Five for the race?""
You snickered this time at the speakers overhead.
"Well, it was good seeing you after so long." Pushing off of the wall, you headed into the darker part of the building, waving half heartedly over your shoulder. "You should text me some time and name a place to meet up at. I bet we can help each other out quite a bit with missions and such. I am 'Princess of The Underworld' after all."
"Heheh, yeah! Great idea!.. Seeya!" After turning away to head outside, Keigo blushed faintly. Was he just reading things wrong, or did you just ask him out in the smoothest way possible??
You, completely oblivious, meant exactly what you said. Who knows? Maybe the two of you could become very useful double agents for each other in the near future.
