Remy's hands felt small and delicate in Christian's grasp as he gently pulled her up from her seat.
She hesitated at first, but seeing the reassurance and promise in his gaze, she held onto him, her fingers wrapping around his as she tried to pull herself up.
Her legs shook beneath her, unsteady and weak, unable to support her weight.
Christian's grip tightened, and he slipped his hand around her waist, holding her firmly. "Remy," he said softly, his voice full of warmth and reassurance.
His firm hold kept her in place, and she felt a sense of stability and safety wash over her.
He gave her a small smile, and Remy's heart beat a little faster as she met his gaze. She couldn't help but wonder what he was thinking, but before she could ask, her unspoken question got answered.
"Let's dance, Remy," Christian said, his voice low and gentle.
Remy's eyes widened, and she shook her head. "Christian, I can't.." she said in a low surprised voice.
But Christian just placed his finger on her lips, silencing her. "Shh.. I will guide you through it, trust me," he said. "I know you've missed this. Hold onto me, and try to move your feet as much as you can. Just know that I won't let you fall."
Remy slowly nodded.
Christian picked up his phone and put on some music, the soft melody filling the room. He connected it to an earbud in his ear and put one in Remy's, then led her to the center of the room.
The soft slow melody filled their ears, Christian began to sway to the rhythm, his body moving slowly and gracefully.
Remy held onto him, her feet tentative at first, a slight doubt was etched in her face but as Christian guided her, she started to move her feet in time with the music.
The experience was magical for Remy, and she felt like she was dancing again, the last time she did this was with Julian and it was years ago.
Even then the feeling was nothing compared to how she felt now.
Her heart swelling with emotions she didn't want to identify. Christian's smile grew wider as he watched her, his eyes filled with warmth and adoration.
As they moved slowly to the music, Remy forgot about her limitations for a moment, her heart felt lighter and she felt free, her spirit soaring.
Christian's firm hold and gentle guidance made her feel safe, and she trusted him completely. He was cautious though not to move much because she wouldn't be able to keep up.
The music ended and they stopped, "That was.. really...gre-" Remy spoke up but she was cut off by a sudden kiss and the remaining words got stuck in her throat.
She went still a second as his soft lips met hers in a gentle motion, but wrapped her arms around him and her fingers got entangled in his hair, she found herself being effortlessly pulled to him as she kissed back with same passion.
The world around them faded and it was just the both of them radiating an undeniable passion for the other as the kissed, he drew her even closer and deepened the kiss as his hand slipped under her top and traced little lines in her back.
Soon his movement became more frantic and he slipped his tongue into her mouth, Remy willingly allowed him in matching his intensity with need.
For a little while they were just lost in their consuming kisses.
Noticing that Remy had probably stood for long, Christian lifted her up and her wrapped her legs around him. They broke the kiss to catch a breath and locked gazes for a few seconds, they could see and feel their desire for each other.
But just as he leaned in to kiss her again someone stepped in.
"I think it's time you get out of here now Remy, you've been working all day. Take a brea-" Avery gasped and wasn't able to continue speaking as the scene in the room greeted her.
Remy quickly separated herself from Christian but he didn't seem affected by the presence of another person. He even held her closer.
Avery turned around immediately. "I'm really very sorry for barging in! Just.. just continue.. hehe.. don't mind me! I didn't even come here in the first place." She sprinted away immediately.
As Avery sprinted away from the room, she collided with Axel, who was walking in the opposite direction. "Ouch, watch where you're going!"
Avery exclaimed, her irritation evident in her voice. But as she looked up to confront the person she'd bumped into, she realized it was Axel. Axel's piercing gaze met hers, his eyes narrowing slightly as he steadied her by the elbow.
She stood up properly, dusting her hands, then folded her arms and rolled her eyes at him. "You're so tall yet you can't see?"
"You are still as clumsy as ever Avery." Axel said matter-of-factly. Avery looked like she wanted to retort for a moment, but then she took a deep breath. "Seeing as you're headed in this direction, I'm guessing you're going to find Remy?" Axel nodded. "You know what, don't bother. Let's just go."
Avery took Axel's hand and dragged him back. A look of confusion was plastered on Axel's face, and he stopped after they took a few steps.
"Hey, I just wanted to check up on Remy, she's been in there all day," he said, his voice laced with curiosity.
Avery didn't respond, instead, she wound her arm around his neck, pulling his head down to her level. She stood on her toes and whispered something in his ear, her lips barely touching his skin.
Axel's expression changed, and he smirked, his eyes glinting with amusement. He nodded, and without another word, he fell into step beside Avery, walking with her as she led the way.
~Back in Remy's Workshop~
"Umm.. I think at this point we should stop here" Remy said
Christian looked at Remy "Are you sure?" Remy nodded her head shyly. Christian's face softened, and he gently helped her down and put her on her seat.
But as he did, his expression suddenly changed, becoming flat and detached. "Well, if you say so," he said with a shrug. Remy looked down, and Christian added, "You still have work to finish up here. Don't waste any more time. You can join me for dinner when you're done."
With that, he turned and left. Remy watched him go, her mind slightly puzzled with thoughts of his sudden mood swing. She shook her head, chuckling wryly to herself.
"This guy's mood swings are definitely worse than that of a pregnant woman," she muttered under her breath. One moment he's all affectionate and sweet, the next moment he's all cold and distant.
It left her feeling a bit dashed, like she was walking on eggshells around him.
