Gabe and Paige's relationship is progressing very steadily. They always go out on the weekends to the point that their friends are asking too many questions.
"I'll head out, see you later," Gabe said while heading to his prior arrangements with Paige.
"Where are you going? I thought we would hang out more, since it's the weekend. We don't see you much on the weekdays nowadays," Monica said.
"Yeah, you're always busy," Ross added.
"Well, I'm a pre-med student in the program for 7 years to become an MD. They would cram a lot of subjects into those 7 years to make sure that we are as well prepared as those that take it for much longer," Gabe explained.
"Still, it's the weekend, you don't have any classes, right?" Rachel said, wanting to spend time with Gabe since he was like a younger brother she didn't have.
"Wait, he's going on a date!!!" Joey suddenly realized.
"Ohhhhhhhhh." The rest of them suddenly realized.
"How come you're usually slow, but you're fast when it comes to dating?" Gabe said to Joey with a double meaning behind it.
"Yeahh," Joey said happily without realizing it.
"So, who's the girl?" Monica grinned while asking.
"I'm not gonna tell you. I've seen you treat any potential boyfriends this one might have, plus we just started dating, you know. We were just seeing where things were going first, so we don't rush into anything," Gabe said while pointing at Monica.
"Alright, but bring her to the Thanksgiving dinner, okay?" Monica said.
"Yeah, we want to meet her, plus check if she's not an adult pedo, you know," Ross said.
"Thanksgiving is a no-go for me. I don't want her freaking out if I invited her to that kind of occasion but she thinks we're not yet ready or not at that stage yet," Gabe said.
"Well, Thanksgiving is still next month. I want you to think about it, plus you know, it's not fair that only my dating life is being jeopardized here. You have a dating life, you must SUFFER!" Monica explained while leaving a really dark tone at the end.
"I'll head out now because that just really scared me, plus I'm gonna be late. BYE GUYS." Gabe waved them goodbye after saying that.
Gabe then got ready, started going through his wardrobe and took a cab to Paige's dorm and waited for her there.
It had been a week since they started dating. Paige attends every session of Gabe's lecture, then they would eat out after every session, then just hang out, walk towards a park, just normal stuff that would be done on a date. But today it would be different. Paige wanted to celebrate their first week, so she handled the agenda for today. Gabe just had to go to her dorm.
A few minutes had passed since Gabe arrived at the front door of Paige's dorm when she came out. She wore jeans and a pink shirt with a jacket on. She made her hair into a ponytail.
'She's really beautiful,' Gabe thought while approaching Paige.
"Damn this weather, if it weren't cold, I'll wear my dress. You will like me even more with that on," Paige bragged while complaining about the limited wardrobe she can wear.
"Don't worry, you look perfect," Gabe said while still admiring Paige.
"You don't look bad yourself," Paige said while also staring at Gabe, who was wearing a simple navy blue blazer and a white long-sleeved shirt underneath, with black wide-leg pants.
"Well, let's go," Paige said, while reaching out her hand. Gabe then grabbed it and held her hand while they were walking.
They then went to Central Park, where they immediately tried all the dating spots there, and ended on a bridge that was overlooking a sunset over a river. They just watched as the sun set, not a care in the world, not caring about what would happen tomorrow and just focusing on today.
"Want to grab something to eat?" Gabe said, while still holding Paige's hand, and then Paige just looked at him while smiling gently.
"Yes, I want to grab something to eat. I don't want this day to end. I want to freeze this time, and stop the whole universe from expanding so that time stands still now, but I can't. So if we can extend it just a moment, I would be happy to, even if we just ate or sat on a park bench," Paige said while reminiscing.
"That's sweet. You know, I'm supposed to say the sweet things, considering I'm the man, but I do appreciate that. I, too, don't want this day to end," Gabe then said to Paige.
"Well, let's go, I'm also starving." Paige then led Gabe towards the exit, where they found a restaurant where they both ordered. While waiting for their order, a man suddenly proposed to his girlfriend near them. They both witnessed a magical moment at the beginning of their relationship. Gabe couldn't help but imagine if Paige were the one he would end up with. He then imagined their future, and he couldn't help but smile a little while knowing that maybe, it could be this, while Paige was imagining about maybe 5 or 10 years from now, Gabe would propose to her.
The future is uncertain, but both of them couldn't help but think about what if it all worked out, what if they are the ones destined for one another. Then the waiter brought them their food, and they just both enjoyed each other's company. After eating, they went to see a movie and went home, where Gabe made sure that Paige got home safely. After ensuring that, he went home by himself.
After opening the apartment door, he then found them all complete, waiting for him on the sofa.
"Hey guys," Gabe called out.
"How's the date?" Monica immediately asked without any hesitation, and all of them also waited for the answer to the question.
"Well, it's fun and you know I enjoyed it," Gabe said.
"That's it? That's all you're saying?" Ross said.
"Yepp, but I'll let you know this, I like this person," Gabe said clearly.
"Well, at least tell us what she looked like," Joey asked.
"Nope," Gabe answered. This continued for a while, where they would ask a lot of questions about his date, but he did not cooperate.
It was the ending of the night.
