Bi Da'er and the mercenaries were on their way back.

They used branches and vines to make two simple stretchers, carrying the two Soul Masters who had been seriously injured by the eyeless snake during the siege.

"Norbert, you remember this, half of this loss is on your head," Vega didn't dare to aim his anger at Bi Da'er, so he could only vent his anger on Norbert, the lone wolf.

"Hmph, do you think I wanted this to happen? The last time I saw it, it definitely wasn't this big." Norbert said, suddenly looking at a large tree to the side in horror.

On the tree trunk, the white-scaled snake, its abdomen scorched black by lightning and still dripping blood, was staring at them coldly. Although it had no eyes, its bow-taut body indicated that it had locked onto its target.

"Run!" he roared, quickly distancing himself from the terrifying creature.

The eyeless snake shot out like lightning, opening its dark mouth and biting Beninni, who was walking at the rear.

The latter didn't even have time to let out a scream before being swallowed.

Norbert could clearly see a bulge sliding down its throat, eventually disappearing into the wider part of its body.

A Soul Elder was eaten without any resistance!

This made the others even more terrified.

"Is this beast so vengeful? It came to deal with us directly, even ignoring its injuries," Bi Da'er said, his face pale.

"Shit!" Vega cursed, "Maybe we should have stopped it just now."

Although afraid, the mercenaries did not sit still and wait for death, and they all released their Martial Souls to fight back.

"Don't worry, its Soul Power consumption is high, and its injuries are not light," Leiqi shouted, stabilizing the somewhat scattered team.

The eyeless snake did not entangle, twisting its snake tail, and disappeared into the trees with a swoosh.

Only the still-shaking leaves were left, making a rustling aftersound.

Although they temporarily repelled it, the group did not have the slightest joy. The brief contact had cost the team a Soul Grandmaster, while the eyeless snake had only paid a little waiting time.

They continued forward with a more cautious attitude.

Not long after, they found the corpse of a giant snake about ten meters long in front of them. The corpse was corroded beyond recognition by stomach acid, but it could still be vaguely recognized as an eyeless snake, a smaller eyeless snake.

Next to the snake corpse were two human corpses, one with the skin completely gone, revealing exposed muscles and bones, and the other was Beninni, who had just been swallowed not long ago.

"I knew I wasn't mistaken, this is the eyeless snake I saw, ten meters, exactly five thousand years!" Norbert shouted, pointing at the snake corpse.

"Shit, did that monster eat its own kind?"

Koman, another squad leader of the Jackal Mercenary Group, looked even more ugly when he saw this scene, "Is it demonstrating to us, and expressing an endless attitude of revenge?"

"What do you mean?" Bi Da'er asked in confusion.

"Snakes have the habit of spitting out food when they encounter danger or strong enemies to reduce the burden on their bodies. Snakes without food in their stomachs are more dangerous and deadly than well-fed snakes," Koman explained.

"You see, the corpses of these two people and the corpse of the snake were all spit out at the same time and placed on the road ahead of us.

"This shows that when it fought us in the open space just now, it had this smaller eyeless snake in its belly, in a full state!

"Now we are ready to leave, and it is not threatened, why do you think it spit out the food?"

Koman asked in a serious tone.

Bi Da'er pondered slightly, and said solemnly: "For better hunting?"

"That's right, it wants to hunt us, to retaliate, and is willing to spit out the food it has worked so hard to capture for this purpose," Koman nodded.

"Damn it!" Vega cursed in a low voice.

...

"What should we do next?" Lei Yin asked, "Go directly into the forest to track it?"

"I feel like a few of us can't beat it. Do you have any interesting tricks you haven't shown?" Yan Jin looked at Amon with anticipation.

"It will definitely surprise you," Amon smiled softly, "The eyeless snake is a kind of Soul Beast with a strong sense of revenge. If we and the mercenaries stay together, it may be afraid of our strength and dare not act rashly. But after we separate, it is very likely to take revenge."

"So this is deliberately showing weakness?" Lei Yin pinched his chin, "Are we just going to wait here all the time?"

"Of course not, let's go, let's find Bi Da'er and the others. Since the eyeless snake didn't attack us, it's probably targeting the other side." Amon followed the traces left by the mercenaries all the way.

Before long, he came to the place where Norbert and others found the snake corpse.

"This is..." Lei Yin looked surprised when he saw the ten-meter-long eyeless snake corpse.

"Cannibalism... It seems that what we saw just now was not its strongest state. But, it's not much different." Amon glanced at Beninni's corpse, confirming that the eyeless snake was chasing the mercenaries.

Continuing forward, he saw several corpses along the way.

Some were pierced through the chest by earth thorns, some were squeezed into a pile of minced meat, and some were blue and purple all over and died of poison... There were not many traces of fighting at the location of these corpses, indicating that they were all killed in an instant.

"I wonder if Golden Fur has been eaten, if that's the case, considering he is our reserve partner, I will collect his body," Yan Jin muttered in a low voice.

Amon shook his head and said, "It shouldn't be that easy, his Martial Soul is the cat-type Martial Soul known for its rapid reflexes, and the Gem Cat is one of the best among them. With so many cannon fodder around, he can still live longer, of course, one by one dies, and he can't escape in the end."

Yan Jin vaguely saw a white figure in the forest, and without thinking, several volcanic bombs were immediately fired.

The eyeless snake twisted its body and quickly disappeared into the dense bushes.

"Tch, it slipped away so fast, Amon, we can't kill it like this."

"Don't worry."

The eyeless snake thought it was hiding very well, in the forest, it was the hunter, but it didn't know that pairs of eyes were watching it.

Those were worms with twelve segments and starry colors.

Amon scattered a large number of Worms of Time on the way here, their tiny bodies hidden in the branches and leaves.

If the eyeless snake didn't look back and fled into the depths of the forest, he really wouldn't have a good way to track it, but it insisted on retaliating against the mercenaries, plunging into the surveillance network set up by Amon.

When they found Bi Da'er and the others, the mercenaries had suffered heavy casualties, and even Vega's younger brother, Tapa, had died at the snake's mouth.

Seeing Amon, there was also a bit of resentment in his eyes, "It's all you, it's all you... just because you had to come and find this damn thing, my brother lost his life."

Levi, the lone Soul Grandmaster who hadn't spoken much, stood in front of him and said in a low voice: "Now is not the time for infighting, and you should have been mentally prepared when you embarked on the path of a mercenary."

Vega took a step back dejectedly, "Sorry, I lost my composure."
