"Yeah, to pay for your groceries that one time and save your pride," Shantel deadpanned. "Not to marry your mystery grandson."
"Groceries?" he scoffed. "That day you gave me back my dignity. And you think I'd let someone like you just walk away from my family? Never!"
"You're unbelievable," she muttered under her breath, rolling her eyes skyward.
He huffed. "I wouldn't have to if you'd just agree to meet him. Once. Just one time, that's all I ask."
Shantel shook her head as her lips tightened in frustration. "I told you—I'm not cut out for that kind of stuff. Marriage is not my forte. Besides, I don't even know your grandson. He's a complete stranger to me."
