Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Victor and Legna sat silently in a room, monitors pointed everywhere, pointed in different directions in the city. The two were awaiting Ryoji's arrival to see what business they would be taking care of today.

Soon, he walked in and noticed the two, and smiled. He bowed, "Good morning Victor and Legna. I'm glad you can show up today," he turned back towards the monitors walking over towards them. "If you remember, I said that today we would be taking care of important business."

Victor and Legna nodded and Ryoji turned back to them, "Besides powers, what makes a Superhero stand out?" He says with a smirk as he reaches for a pair of tablets seated on a table near the monitors. He grabbed them and walked over towards them, handling them both the tablets. "Their suits. If you'll look at the screen in front of you," he pointed towards the screen, which was an empty hologram of a person. "Here, you'll be able to customize your own suits with this here app. And you can let your imagination run wild, as this app can do anything."

Victor looked amazed, his eyes glowing with excitement. Legna looked down at the screen and wondered if that was truly possible, can this app have everything? That could adapt to any power that someone could have? That felt impossible!

"Once you finish, you give me the tablets and I pass them off to my tech guys for them to create it." He turns towards the door, opening it. "You have until the end of the day, have fun creating!" he says with a wave as he steps out of the room. Victor smiled and twirled the tablet in his hands. "I can really create whatever I want! I'm definitely gonna create the greatest super suit that has ever been seen!" Legna was already working to scroll through to see all of the options. She glanced at Victor, "Don't forget to create something that is gonna going to help you get the maximum use out of your power."

He rolled his eyes and sighed, "Yeah yeah of course, but the fashion is what comes first. With style, how are you gonna stand out?" He said as her eyes traced the various design choices. She turned the tablet towards him, "You know? Like this? I want something that's gonna improve my power, and maximize its potential." He looked over, getting in close to see. "Yeah, that's cool, basic, and unoriginal, but cool if that's what you want."

Victor turned towards his tablet and smiled, ready to begin coming up with the most creative design the world has ever seen, as he pressed his finger to the screen.

Dante presses a pencil onto a notebook page. The paper was lit up by a desk lamp, the faint sound of peaceful music playing through the speakers in his dorm room. His mind was racing with thoughts and ideas. He had to think of something practical and easy to get. Considering he wasn't some tech genius or anything, he had to work on small funds. But, that worked for him, he didn't need anything flashy right now, just something that would work. He had multiple ideas scribbled down, but other ideas were scratched out, as they didn't fit his vision, or his budget. Some of the ideas he had thought of he circled, which could lead to something for his design. He had written down words that might fit the vibe he wanted to go for.

One thing he wrote, was a fear factor. And fear isn't something he really needed, he didn't care if criminals feared him, especially since he would also be doing his hero work during the day as well. He thought about doing a separate design for the day and for the night, but he couldn't afford to keep both of those around. Besides, that was probably doing the most. Though, that didn't stop him from coming up with some pretty cool ideas. He had envisioned a sun design for the day and a moon design for the night. But of course, doing that would require a lot more materials, and he was working on a budget. But, regardless, of the design he felt like they were focusing on being flashy than being practical. He shook his head and crossed out the designs and focused on something else.

Another concept he had, was maybe a scarecrow asethic. It would play into the fear factor he wrote down, but then again, it looked a little impractical, and the design was super complicated, he had no idea how he could figure out how to do this. So that was out, though he could try and make a simple design, it was still too complicated. He crossed out the idea and moved on.

Another concept was, maybe going for a animal-style costume. Ideas he had was maybe a bear? A tiger? But with the design he wrote down, they ended up looking stupid and he just crossed them out not even considering them any more. He doesn't even know why he considered that, he always could costumes based on animals stupid, so why would he even consider it? He shook his head and moved on.

Another concept, was something simple. Just a cloak with maybe a full face mask. It had pads to protect parts of his body, while also keeping it easy to move. It was simple, but could work. He also circled some of the ideas he had drawn. He looked around the pages, and noticed some other things he had circled from other designs. He thought about mixing these ideas, and quickly ripped out a new page from his notebook. He sighed and began to draw another suit concept, now mixing all the ideas he had circled from the other suits.

And at the end of it, he thinks he has something that could definitely work. Firstly, he kept the tattered cloak from one of his designs, which definitely gave him that fear factor he had written down before. Secondly, he looked back at his scarecrow design and decided to keep the scarf from that design, which was like the tattered cloak. Third, he looked back at one of his more terrible designs, but one thing that stood out was the mask choice he had gone with. It was a half mask made from black bandages, which made it look more unnatural which plays into the fear factor he had written down. And he wanted to keep the pads and protection from the design with the cloak. He should also had gloves, as getting his fingerprints everywhere was a problem, he didn't know if he could hide his fingerprints from digital things, and it's not something he should be testing right now, so it's better he just added gloves to the suit. And boots, ones that were easy to run in, protected his feet and added weight to his attacks when he needed to fight…

Overall, this design worked, though he wished he could have more advanced tech to add. Cause now, he had to work by himself, and take care of crimes that he was able to see. He shook his head, making his mind focus on the things that were more important. That wasn't important right now, all he needed for now was something that worked for him and what he was gonna do. He relaxed in his seat and spun around, now another step in his plan, finding the materials for it.

For his gloves, boots, and maybe the cloak he could find a thrift store to get those things. That was probably easy, and the scarf he could find one and cut it up to fit his vision of it. He also had to make sure to get a hooded cloak, so that he could cover the top half of his face. He looked back at his notebook and wondered how he would go about getting his black mask. Maybe he could take some old black T-shirts or clothes that he has and cut them up to make up his mask. It would be a lot of work to completely fit his vision, but if he was going to do this, he had to put in the work now. He glanced through his notebook, and noticed something he had written down before started brainstorming. He smirked and stood, his eyes glowing red as he walked out of his dorm room, ready to get to it. It was time for this city to gain a Ghost.

Dante, who was on a mission to gather the things for his new suit traveled around the city. He went to various stores and thrift stores, where things were old and cheap. The first things he found were the scarf, gloves, and boots, as those were probably the easiest to find. The scarf would need some modifications but overall it worked for his vision. The gloves and boots were a bit more expensive than he would've liked, but they were what he imagined. Next was getting the hooded cloak. And that was the hardest thing to find, he actually never ended up finding one, just a normal cloak. He knew he would need to cut it up with the scarf to get the tattered vibe he wanted. And so once he got all the things he needed, he arrived back to his dorm room and went to his closest to figure out what to use for his mask. He ended up finding some old black shirts and jackets, and he was scared that this wasn't going to work how he imagined. But, he ended up going through with his plan and began to cut up the shirts and jackets. Once he got the slips of fabric, get began to stitch them together into something that looked like a face mask. He sighed as he looked at it. He put it to the side and turned to the cloak and scarf, ready to cut them up. As he cut them up, he turned back to his mask and wondered if he really needed to cloak, would the scarf would be enough? His plans were already kind of ruined when he couldn't find a hooded cloak…He sighed and just continued, this would just have to work for now.

After everything, he was about midnight when he finished. He put everything on and walked in front of his full-body mirror in his bathroom, and sighed as he looked at himself. It was far from perfect, his hair was showing, and the mask was poorly made, but was covered with the scarf. He sighed and looked determined in the mirror, this will work.

He was able to work with what he had, that was all that mattered. He looked down at his hand and clenched his fist. It wasn't about looking good, all that mattered was sending a message. And that message, is that this city had a Ghost.
