Jax paused for a long moment before asking, "Are you saying you came all the way to my room because you heard I needed armor?"
"…Yes?" the girl said.
Jax's eyes remained wide. "Are you serious? You came to my room, invading my privacy, because you wanted a job?" he asked before taking a moment to think about something else. "How did you know which room was mine?"
The young woman panicked. "I'm sorry. I really need this job," she said quickly. "Please, let me make that armor for you. I will make you the best I can. On top of that, I will provide a free maintenance check for your other weapons and armors too if you need to."
Jax didn't know what to say at all. A part of him felt betrayed to learn that she hadn't come for what he thought she had. On the other hand, he really did need that armor. And if she was going to give him free maintenance options, then he really did want to take it.
