Axel's mind was far from pragmatic. It wasn't that he wouldn't deal with things in a practical and simple way. It was just that, at this point, it wasn't needed.
Just staring at the monster for a split second, Axel saw that it seemed besotted with killing him right now, and well, he was too.
Unfurling his clenched fists (and also his inner flames), he dashed forward, carrying a large amount of wind with him.
The monster didn't react quickly because of the immense speed Axel accumulated while coming at it; it felt like a blast.

That was what it looked like. Axel seemingly looked like he teleported. It looked so unreal, like he didn't even move. Even the god of speed wouldn't be able to beat that.
