[Dad]
"Eve."
[What could you possibly have done? What could I even hate you for?]
"Eve, y-you don't understand. What I did is bad, very bad…"
[What did you do?]
Mr. Stavros couldn't speak.
[Dad] Eve called on the other side of the phone. [What did you do?]
"Eve…"
[What is it? Just tell me!]
"I…I don't…" he stuttered. "Can we speak in the morning? I want to talk to you face to face, not over the phone. So, can you come in the morning?]
[Dad…]
"Eve, please. This is not an over the phone conversation."
She was reluctant because she didn't respond instantly. [Okay. I'll see you in the morning]
"Good. Take care of yourself."
He hung up the call and glanced at the nurse who stood awkwardly. "You can..go ahead and do what you have to do now."
The nurse nodded.
….
Mr. Stavros turned on the bed. Someone was approaching, he could sense a strong presence, one he knew too well.
