Nikolas twirled the chopsticks in between his fingers around the Chinese takeout, rolling the noodles before scooping up into his mouth.
He sighed deeply, tossing the half-eaten takeout box aside. It was his first meal of the day, and yet he couldn't bring himself to stomach the meal.
He glanced up at the wall clock in the sitting room. 12:30 p.m. And he still hadn't pulled himself together.
The past week had worn him down,from the marriage deal with Selene to the maddening silence as he waited for Austin to finally serve him court papers.
Why was it taking so long? Was Austin second-guessing himself? Nikolas quickly shook the thought off his head, raking his fingers through his hair.
