Chapter 30 - Nightly outings

''Have a peaceful night, young lady.''

''Goodnight to you as well, Jane.''

After the exchange of words, the door closed and what could be seen in the dark room was lone lighted candle on the nightstand, and the shadows of objects on the ground.

As Jane wished, the room was peaceful until rustling sounds came from the bed. Small feet landed on the ground and slowly moved over to the dressing closet. It didn't take long until the set of feet were shielded from sight. The small heel of the small-sized black boots clicked on the floor until it stopped near the dressing mirror.

The lone lighted candle was placed on the dressing table. A moment after that, rustling sounds could be heard. Glossy black hair was tied into a low messy bun, and then a dark hood shielded the hair from sight. Red eyes reflected on the dressing mirror.

*pak* *pak*

''He's here.'' A soft murmur escaped her lips. Not a moment later, another presence could be felt in the faintly illuminated room.

''You look very different in this attire, Kieran.'' An amused voice followed after. Vibrant eyes took in the black attire of the elite slave kneeling in her gaze. Everything on him was shielded underneath the dark clothes, including his face. The only visible features were his eyes.

Kieran's outfits reminded Raven of the assassin that she killed on a night like this.

'If I were to count the number of weeks I've spent here, it would probably be a month or so…' Raven suddenly thought of the time she had spent in this world.

''...Does master's robe fit well?'' Kieran did not react to the former words.

''Yes, it does. You got the right size, thank you.'' Raven's eyes briefly went down to her robe, before walking past the kneeling Kieran to the opened window. Her robe fluttered a bit due to the cool breeze of the night. Her red eyes focused on the beautiful scenery of the estate in her gaze.

Somewhere out there would be an organization of assassins under her lead after tonight.

''Let's go.''

''Yes.''

Kieran stood up from the ground, and moved towards the source of the night breeze. He knelt before Raven and waited until he felt the weight drop on his back. Small arms curled around his neck, and her face laid close to his neck with faint breaths. The hairs on his neck stood erected.

Kieran ignored the silly reaction and stood up without staggering. He held the window frame and a moment later, leaped down the window without a sound. The two bodies glued together descended down the old manor.

''....Ah.'' Raven lightly exhaled once Kieran landed perfectly on the grass.

*Ba-thump*

*Ba-thump*

'It's loud.' She felt the thumps against her chest.

'There's a first time for everything.' Raven suddenly thought of those words. That sentence thoroughly explained the reaction of this body. It wasn't her first time falling from such height but it seemed to be a first for the original owner.

This body literally proved it.

''I don't weigh that much if I say so myself, Kieran.'' Her gaze wandered over to the tall sturdy tree near the room.

Raven could guess why Kieran avoided using the tree. Though she was a bit disappointed about not witnessing his nimbleness and agility.

If she were to guess, this tree should be how that assassin had entered her room. Kieran must have used the same means as him.

''This slave is being cautious, master.''

''Yes, Yes. Now, let's move on to our destination.'' Raven lightly dismissed his words and tightened her arms around his neck.

''It's best if humans don't deceive themselves under the guise of cautiousness.''

''…..''

Amarian Empire.

An empire said to be with many lands filled with milk and honey. An empire that many from different kingdoms and empires desired to migrate, not only because of the its unimaginable power, wealth and influence. The empire's history played a big deal as the Amarian imperial family was rumored to be a bloodline of the Goddess Agnes.

However…..

That wasn't only the reason for many from different lands desiring to migrate into the empire.

In the Amarian empire, the imperial family are not the only leaders. Yes, they are as seen as one by many from different lands and even its commoners. But only the empire's nobility knew of the powerful tigers struggling for power on one mountain.

The famed Grand duke Langston of the Langston Grand duchy. A formidable man known over many kingdoms and empire for many things, especially his family tainted bloodline.

The imperial capital which resides the famed imperial family blessed with Goddess Agnes's bloodline, and many of the Amarian nobilities.

Finally, the Holy land. A region whose authority fall under one person, the Holy pope of the famed Goddess Agnes's temple.

These three regions made up the Amarian empire, and the rulers of each had all been kept under check through a national treaty, thus making the Amarian empire what it is in the present time.

Raven learned all these through the original owner's memories, the stolen novel in her former life, and some geography books she read in the old library of the Sixth madam's manor during her free time. To live and survive in this new world, she needed information.

Information not only from her immediate environment, but from outside as well. That also meant she needed to be informed through other means such ruling an assassin organization the palm of her fingers.

The idea of doing this came from the night she killed that assassin. On his robe was a logo of a wolf, meaning that he belonged to an organization, and not a person, like lily.

So….why couldn't she take over the reins of that organization then?

That was the only solution she had thought of, but she was disgusted at herself for having such thought. Anything and anyone connected to an assassin organization, Raven extremely hated, but she had no choice in this world as it was the only way for her survive.

Kill the leader and sit on the ruling chair as a new leader. It was easy as that in Raven's imagination, but in reality, it was difficult.

Firstly, she wasn't in her prime. The original owner's body wasn't like her former body, and Raven knew how much efforts and hardwork she put to have gotten such skills in her former life.

Then, she was an adult with many experiences. Here, she was a child still with the experiences. She only needed to grow which would take more than ten years, and Raven couldn't wait that long to put her plan into action.

Besides that, she knew that if it wasn't for what happened that night, she might have been buried underground by the Langston family or be prepared to lose an arm or two.

Luckily for her and her very risky choices, Kieran, her elite slave and training tutor did not fail her expectations.

Throughout the passing days, he trained her in all seriousness. Whatever she asked of him, he heeded without a noise of complaints or question.

In return for his obedience, she was a good master to him. She made sure he was fed with the same food as herself. Even if lily and Jane had unspoken complaints, they did as she asked.

As for clothes, she would have to get him some. Wearing the same clothes as the first time she saw him wasn't so pleasing. He was a handsome man with beautiful eyes, and dampening his beauty was definitely not her.

All in all, Kieran was perfect for her plan to take over the assassin organization.

''Master, we have arrived.''
