Chapter 8: The aftermath
Third person pov.
Kael staggered through the forest, he exhausted his strength by using his powers on so many people at once. He managed to walk to a lake.
The lake had beautiful flowers surrounding it. Kael seemed to be thinking about something "she clearly saw me like that " kael muttered to himself and palmed his face. His shoulders fell and few minutes later his body followed. As Kael layed unconscious by the lake, he had another dream, only this time around it felt too real as if his body was actually present by the big black sea. The beast and the woman stood on top of the sea and the creature who had transformed and became me spoke "Kael.." his voice as cold as ice from the antartic.
"Who are you" kael said firmly refusing to cower in fear even though the powerful auras around him were strong. "I am you." The creature said "i am the true manifestation of levi, the first born son of Leviathan" He continued.
Kael grew confused, They were taught about the great beast leviathan but it was all only a myth right? He thought to himself. Kael laughed sarcastically and said "so if i understand what you are saying, I am the son of Leviathan?... The great beast?.. who is a myth?..."
"So i'm guessing that giant horse that woman is riding is the almighty Leviathan and the woman sitting on it is my mother?" Kael said in a sarcastic tone. The other him was about to speak when the woman cut him off and said "Did they ever show you a picture of your mother?" She asked, her voice calm and gentle
"Yes i have seen her picture countless times, but what does it matter, she's dead anyway" kael answered his voice laced with a hint of sadness.
The woman who had been covering her face with a cloak descended from the beasts head and took off her hood "kael.." she called when she got closer to him, he was looking down "Look at me" as if controlled by an evil spirit, keal raised his head slowly and behold he saw the face of his mother. "Mother" he screamed and his eyes shot open, he looked around breathing heavily. He was in his room back at the palace how did i get here he thought to himself then he heard the bathroom door open and seraph walked out.
They stared at each other for a while, then kael spoke up "How did i get here?"
"I brought you back with help from some guards" seraphine replied.
FLASHBACK
SERAPHINE'S POV
I woke up with a throbbing head, i had the weirdest dream. Kael looked like a complete demon, his eyes were pitch black, matching the dark sky, he had long claws like that of an eagle, darkness hovered around him.
I turned to the mirror, when i saw my disheveled look, my eyes widened "it.. it wasn't a dream" i said to myself as i staggered backwards, i hit a flower vase that was sitting by the bed side and it broke. Dera came rushing in "Princess, are you okay…. What happened" she panicked. I couldn't form words with my mouth. So the rumours are all true i cried, then i remembered when i had asked him about it and he said he didn't know.
After crying for over an hour, i stopped. Crying cannot change anything i am married to him already i just pray he doesn't kill me someday… "No kael will never hurt me" i said to myself then turned to Dera who had been watching me since
"Where is kael" i asked
"He did not come back with us, princess.. he left immediately after he dropped you with us."
"Take me to Fredrick, now" i ordered and walked out of the room with dera trailing behind me. We found him at the training field "Fredrick" i called out to him. He bowed
"Get some guards we are going to bring kael back, now" i commanded and he nodded.
When we got to the border where we had been attacked, all the soldiers spread outand started searching for him "i am sure he's back by here by now" i said. Fredrick had told me earlier that he went to the kingdom of crypt to meet with king Arid.
"The prince is here" i heard someone shout in a loud voice, everyone ran to the direction including me. I saw kael he looked exhausted and pale "Quick, lets take him back to the kingdom and get him treated" Fredrick said as he carried kael on his back.
END OF FLASHBACK
"How are you feeling now" i asked still being cautious, i think he noticed my behaviour. He frowned a little "i am fine," he said and walked past me into the bathroom.
