Chapter 16 - Chapter 15 - Blood, Loot, and Unanswered Questions

Lucian groaned, pushing himself up onto his elbows.

His entire body protested, but he forced himself to sit up.

Every muscle ached, every joint felt stiff, and his ribs still throbbed from where the Abyssal Tyrant had tossed him like a ragdoll.

But there was one thing keeping him moving right now.

Loot.

If there was any justice in this system, that overgrown beast had better have dropped something worth all that suffering.

And more importantly—

"Please tell me there's a damn Healing Potion."

He forced himself onto shaky legs, dragging his feet toward the pile of shimmering items where the Abyssal Tyrant's body had once been.

The moment Lucian stepped closer, the System activated.

[Ding!]

Unique Skill – [Item Manifestation] Activated.

Before his eyes, the remnants of the slain Tyrant dissolved, transforming into shimmering crystalized loot.

Weapons.

Armor.

Materials.

A familiar thrill ran through him despite his exhaustion.

"Alright… let's see what we got."

Lucian browsed through the loot, his hands moving with practiced ease.

Name: [Tyrant Fang Spear]

Rank: A+

Type: Polearm / Spear

[Attributes:]

Weight: Heavy

Durability: Extremely High

Mana Conductivity: High (Enhances Dark and Impact-based Attacks)

Reach: Extended (Ideal for Mid-to-Long-Range Combat)

[Effects & Abilities:]

[Tyrant's Pierce] – Thrust attacks have a high chance to inflict a "Bleed" effect, dealing continuous damage over time.

[Crushing Impact] – Piercing or sweeping attacks generate shockwaves, staggering enemies and disrupting formations.

[Predator's Reach] – Gains increased attack speed and precision when striking from a distance.

[Abyssal Fang Resilience] – The spear resists wear and tear, maintaining its sharpness even after prolonged combat.

Description:

A devastating polearm crafted from the fangs of an Abyssal Tyrant, this spear embodies raw power and ferocity. Though heavy, its reach and piercing capability allow for brutal mid-range engagements, while its abyss-infused nature ensures deep wounds and tremor-inducing strikes. Wielded by those strong enough to handle its weight, the Tyrant Fang Spear dominates the battlefield with relentless force.

Lucian blinked.

"Okay, that's sick. But… I don't use Spear."

"Might be useful later, though."

He stored it in his Spatial Inventory.

[Abyssal Tyrant's Hide]

(Rank A) – A rare material used for high-grade armor crafting.

Effects:

Highly durable, naturally resistant to magic attacks.

Can be refined into armor or sold for a massive profit.

"Alright, so that's definitely useful. Might be able to make some custom armor later."

He stored it away.

[Greater Abyssal Core]

(Rank A+) – A pulsating core, filled with condensed abyssal energy.

Effects:

Used in high-tier weapon enchantments.

Can be consumed to permanently enhance magical affinity (Warning: High Risk).

Lucian raised a brow.

"Enhance magical affinity?"

"I'll hold onto it… but something tells me eating a monster core isn't the safest idea."

Straight to Spatial Inventory.

Lucian scanned the pile one last time.

And then—

His eyes landed on exactly what he needed.

[Elixir of Restoration] X 3

(Rank A) – A rare potion that fully restores health and removes fatigue.

Lucian didn't even hesitate.

"Yes—hell yes."

He popped the cork and downed the entire vial in one go.

The taste was smooth, almost sweet, with a faint cooling sensation running down his throat.

And then—

A warm rush of energy spread through his body.

The pain melted away.

The aches vanished.

His wounds closed instantly.

[Ding!] Health Fully Restored.

Lucian let out a deep exhale.

"Oh, that's the good stuff."

For the first time in what felt like hours, he finally breathed without pain.

——————————

Now that the immediate danger was over, his mind began to drift.

Everything that happened today—

The fight. The overwhelming power gap. The sheer insanity of this dungeon.

And more than anything—

The fact that he had survived.

Lucian looked down at his hands, still flexing his fingers.

Not just survived.

He had won.

But the real question was—

How long could he keep winning?

His gaze shifted toward Ignis, the ancient dragon watching him in silence.

Lucian clenched his fists.

He had come too far to die now.

And if Ignis really planned to train him…

Then he would be ready.

"I'm not done yet."

———————————

Lucian sat cross-legged on the cavern floor, his back resting against the rough stone wall.

The fight was over.

His wounds were healed.

His breathing had finally steadied.

But his mind—his mind refused to rest.

The adrenaline had worn off, leaving behind something heavier.

Something he had been pushing away.

And now, as the silence settled around him, he couldn't ignore it anymore.

Just hours ago, he had been walking through the streets of London.

The city had been alive—honking cars, distant chatter, flashing lights.

It had been normal.

Familiar.

And then—

He had seen it.

A strange Cube, nestled in the shadows of an alleyway.

It had called to him.

Not with words. Not with sound.

But with something deeper.

A pull, an unexplainable attraction.

He had reached out.

The moment his fingers touched its surface—

Everything changed.

Lucian closed his eyes, exhaling slowly.

Aoi. Ayaka.

His sister. His Mother.

Were they looking for him?

Did they think he was dead?

The thought gnawed at his chest, twisting like a knife.

"Will I ever… go home?"

The words came out in a whisper, barely audible in the vast emptiness of the dungeon.

But the moment he spoke them—

Something shifted.

A faint pulse ran through his body.

Not pain.

Not exhaustion.

Something else.

Lucian's breath caught.

His body tensed.

"What was that?"

It wasn't coming from the cavern.

It wasn't from the System.

It was inside him.

Deep.

Buried within.

Waiting.

Lucian closed his eyes, focusing on the sensation.

And then—he saw it.

Floating in the darkness of his mind—

A faintly glowing Cube.

Not broken. Not gone.

Still pulsing.

Still alive.

Still waiting for something.

Lucian's eyes snapped open.

His heart pounded.

"What… are you?"

The Cube had brought him here.

But why?

And more importantly—

Could it bring him back?
