Cherreads

Chapter 26 - Anyway, I Didn’t See You

[Ningning doesn't know]: Military training starts tomorrow, are you all ready?

There was a moment of silence in the group, and it took half a minute for someone to respond.

[Denim Shorts Lan Lan]: Senior, your topic shift is too abrupt...

[Ningning doesn't know]: I said I sent it to the wrong group, and I've already retracted it. There was no original topic to begin with.

Retracting it means it doesn't exist anymore, that's reasonable, right?

[Princess Dress A Jin]: But we all saw it, Senior Bai, you said you met a very cute loli today and so on.

[Ningning doesn't know]: It was just a casual remark, like when you have nothing to do with your phone and randomly send an emoji.

[Ningning doesn't know]: Like this (laughing emoji), do you really think I would show that expression?

A few younger sisters thought for a moment, imagining the cold smile on their senior's beautiful face.

And so they all shivered together.

[Princess Dress A Jin]: Got it, Senior Bai, we understand.

[Denim Shorts Lan Lan]: That said, Senior, are you really not going to comfort Xiao Yi?

[Ningning doesn't know]: What's wrong with Xiao Yi? Did she fall?

[Princess Dress A Jin]: ...

[Denim Shorts Lan Lan]: ...

What do you mean what's wrong? Our group already has a loli junior, and she's even the top of the cute loli ranking, yet you openly praise another loli. How inconsiderate.

But the senior, true to her ID, didn't think there was anything wrong at all.

[Two-Tailed Xiao Yi]: It's okay, I'm fine, sob sob.

[Ningning doesn't know]: Alright, I'll bring you an extra bottle of milk tomorrow.

That should be enough, right?

In any case, after confirming that everyone was ready for military training, Bai Ningning gave a few reminders and then closed the QQ group, stretching comfortably.

I really am a caring, gentle, considerate, and generous senior.

It's getting late, time to go home.

Walking on the way home, Bai Ningning reflected on her achievements of the day.

First, she helped a junior with beautiful legs in black knee-high socks submit her day student paperwork. Then she joined a new club and became a core member. Next, she preserved the "Will of Manga" and successfully repaid her debt. Finally, she met an incredibly cute loli artist.

If she could smoothly get through the night and sleep well, today would be a complete success.

Thinking of this, Bai Ningning's expression turned slightly serious.

The night at home might not be easy.

But generally speaking, as long as she could keep her cute little cherry mouth in check, there shouldn't be any major problems.

In short, as long as she didn't get caught, it would be a success.

......

It was still a while before dark, around six o'clock, when Bai Ningning returned home to the courtyard.

Qin Yue was lounging at home, sitting on the sofa watching TV. She looked up and saw the girl walk in.

"You're back so early today?"

"Mm."

She replied coldly and walked forward on her own.

Bai Ningning had made up her mind to stick to a certain routine tonight—follow the rules, say less, and not get caught.

Following the rules meant coming home early; the rule was to be back by nine-ten, and she got home at six. Surprising, right?

Saying less meant acting like this now.

But Qin Yue found it strange, wondering what was up with this little green tea, coming home so early yet seeming reluctant to talk.

"What's wrong with you?" she asked. "Did something happen at school?"

"No."

Bai Ningning returned to her bedroom, took off her clothes, and changed into her pajamas... huh, why is it so cool on my chest?

Oh, Qin Yue had replaced all her pajamas with collarless ones.

Well, it was quite comfortable.

She hugged a pillow and lay on the bed, enjoying the air conditioning while playing on her phone. How wonderful.

But seeing her like this only confirmed Qin Yue's suspicions.

"What exactly happened?" Qin Yue sat down next to her. "Is it a club issue? Didn't you find a suitable new club?"

She knew about the issues with the tea art club even earlier than Bai Ningning herself. When she decided to take revenge, she had already privately investigated everything about Bai Ningning at school.

Bai Ningning's cute little cherry mouth itched, and she quickly covered it with her hand.

If she said, "Who are you to care?" tonight, she would basically be saying goodbye to sleep.

Qin Yue thought she was tacitly agreeing, so she continued to speculate: "Are you worried about the new club's prospects? Afraid of getting your club points reset next year?"

"That won't happen," Bai Ningning finally spoke. "If a club doesn't do well, it will just merge; it won't lose points."

Merged points are still points for you.

"Then what about your previous tea art club...?"

"That was a violation of principles," Bai Ningning explained simply. "Deductions are a punishment for members, unrelated to how the club performs."

University clubs are originally based on interests and hobbies, with no task requirements. They won't say your club did poorly and therefore you won't get points.

As for the tea art club, it was promoting incorrect values and got caught in the crossfire, so it was definitely different.

Alright, it seems it's not a club issue.

Just as Qin Yue was about to ask more, the phone in the living room suddenly rang, so she left the bedroom.

Bai Ningning let out a long breath.

The big sister finally left, now she can check the little loli's social media updates!

Don't get me wrong, Bai Ningning just feels that as a senior in the club and an older sister, she should understand her junior who shares the same traits a bit more.

The same traits refer not only to her loli face but also to her personality, which is not good at communicating with others.

When she opened the space of [Nainai-chan is almost done], Bai Ningning found that the other person was still a bit different from her—she was not good at communicating in real life, and she was also not good at it online.

[Please do not shake the window to urge for the manuscript, thank you everyone]

[Almost done, thank you everyone]

[Not done, I'm sorry]

[Almost done, I'm sorry]

[Starting to draw XXXX boss's commission tomorrow]

All of these are related to drawing, with no complaints or small talk about life, which is quite different from other people's spaces.

When she clicked into the drawing showcase album, Bai Ningning discovered that the loli junior's drawing skills were actually very good. Whether it was characters or environmental backgrounds, everything looked particularly comfortable from the lines to the color layers.

The only slight drawback was that every character she drew was not very large; even for girls, the bust was somewhat disappointing.

Bai Ningning thought, perhaps it was because she herself had no chest and had no reference to practice with. Thinking of this, she couldn't help but chuckle.

Qin Yue happened to finish a phone call and came back. As soon as she entered the bedroom, she heard the girl's bell-like pleasant laughter.

This sound was so youthful that it made Qin Yue a little enchanted.

She approached Bai Ningning, gently leaned down, and whispered in her ear, "Laughing so happily, what are you looking at?"

Bai Ningning didn't have time to cover her cute little mouth and blurted out—

"Anyway, I wasn't looking at you."

The bedroom fell silent, and the air became stagnant.

The girl realized something, her delicate body shivered, and she quickly remedied, "I was looking at a little loli."

Following the rules means speaking the truth.
