Gardevoir sighed softly. "Groon… (It's a long story…)"
Decades ago, this land was rich and ecologically diverse—not just forests and mountains. But one day, invisible boundaries trapped all Pokémon here. Initially, the forest and mountain Pokémon cooperated to survive. Over time, however, Dragon-types used their innate strength to monopolize resources: berry trees, evolution stones, and training grounds. Other Pokémon struggled to grow stronger.
In the wild, weaker Pokémon would simply migrate to claim new territories. But here, trapped, resentment festered. When non-Dragon Pokémon realized their stagnation was due to resource hoarding, they united against the Dragons. But without a leader, their efforts failed. Dragon numbers surged, dominating the land for years.
Though Dragons allowed minimal resources to prevent starvation, it wasn't enough. Then, a young Fairy-type emerged—a Gardevoir who wielded Misty Terrain to suppress Dragon powers. She rallied the oppressed, driving Dragons into the mountains and forging a fragile truce.
"Was that you?" Su Feng asked.
"Groon~ (No~)" Gardevoir shook her head. "Groon. (She was my mother—the strongest Gardevoir. She passed from illness years ago.)"
Su Feng hesitated. "I'm sorry."
"Groon. (No need. Death is natural here.)" Gardevoir gazed skyward. "Groon. (I wish I'd witnessed her era.)"
Su Feng frowned. According to Magmortar, the Pokémon world's collapse began less than 30 years ago. Yet Gardevoir's tale spanned longer. "How old was your mother when she died?"
"Groon. (Sixty. Why?)"
"No reason…" Time flows differently here. If true, Xiao Da and Xiao Di might have aged unpredictably. Panic surged. "Where's Xiao Da?!"
Gardevoir closed her eyes. Pink psychic waves rippled outward—Heal Pulse combined with clairvoyance. Su Feng's dormant telepathy tingled in resonance.
"Groon? (Are you… a Psychic-type?)" Gardevoir blinked, intrigued.
"Just a human with a little ESP," Su Feng deflected.

[ESP?! Wind Bro's a Pokémon confirmed!]
[Next he'll go Super Saiyan. Calling it now.]
Ignoring the chaos, Su Feng pressed, "Xiao Da—where is she?!"
Gardevoir turned to Swampert. "Groon. (Fetch her from Audino's hut.)"
