Of course, all of the villagers that appeared were instantly whooped by them without any semblance of effort, it was done so quickly in fact that the hero and the one's accompanying him had just reached the front door, they hadn't even opened it.
Walking through the front gate and passing by the unconscious men that were all over the place, they looked at the quaint wood and concrete houses all around, no signal of anyone else around.
"Damn, and i thought our city was backwards. Do you see that roof right there? Im pretty sure that stuff is illegal to use." Duke points at a house with a roof that glistened in the sunlight, and throws a piece of marble at it, making a loud thud noise that statled the people hiding inside there.
It wasn't hard to guess that the houses weren't actually deserted, it's just that the old men, children and women were simply all hiding inside their houses with their winds closed, some even barricaded them with furniture.
With the corner of her eye, Rei looked at the top window of one of the 2 store houses in the center square, a small child rapidly getting down when it notices that it was being seen.
She scoffs, tapping her feet in annoyance for their "easy job" being way more troublesome than it should.
"I wasn't expecting this place to have pavement, now i will have to scrub my feet!" Said Ju, who was flapping her arm towards herself to ward off the heat that was starting to increase.
Now with all of the villagers scared of going outside, if the briefing they were given about the guy they are after is correct, he will confront them head on no matter what the villagers try to do, so might as well finish this before the sun cooks them in the pavement.
"Alright fools, scatter, we will find him more quickly by covering more ground." Thane put his finger up and spinned it around, the 3 of his colleagues going off different directions around the village, while Thane continued straight into a more narrow street that seemed to end at a grocery shop before it split into 2 parallel paths.
Ju jumped back and forth between a house and a lamp post, landing with a soft thud in a house and slowly surveying the street around before hopping house to house doing the same thing.
Each step she did was one chill sent inside the spine of the people hiding and the closest thing to them was clutched, some were children, others were knifes or clubs, one was a grenade.
Duke was taking a leisure stroll without his jacket on, where he carefully placed it in a random clothesline in front of a house in the center square, at the side of a green shirt, which was his reminder to where he put it.
Of course, the sun was hitting him more directly but at least he stopped sweating that much now that he wasn't enclosed like a larvae in a pupae, plus by walking in the house's shadows he could avoid being so hot while walking.
He noted how many trees were all around the place, it felt like he was stuck in the past, he remembers living in a neighborhood almost like this when he was just a little boy.
Rei walked, no care in the world, no particular thoughts or concerns placed in her mind as she looked for any sign of the damn guy she was supposed to beat the living snot out of it, her hands in her pockets as she went in the direction of the biggest house around, probably the village's chief, heh, how outdated.
Thane was heading towards the little hill that had fewer houses around and was outside the villages crude wood walls, really, they were more like a very tall fence than anything.
At the distance, he could see that a church was standing at the very top, a cliff right behind it that lend to a dense as hell forest. Now it made sense why that guy didn't come to fight them right away, he was simply holed up there and nobody bothered to reach for him.
Maybe, but now it's less time to speculate and more time to investigate!
Meanwhile, Ju was sitting on a roof with a cat in her lap, it purred while their belly and chin was being scratched gently.
"I suppose you'd make a fine memento, but only if you were like a kitten or something, you're kinda too old my dude." She picked it up and looked deeply into its beady feline eyes.
"Do you have like, a kitten or some smaller cat i could take for myself?" It meowed and jumped down to the street, the sound of a bell chimed right where it landed.
"Quick, we must get Father Libelula so he can dispatch those ruffians outside!" Ju observed the scene that was unfolding with a grin, these morons think that some paternal figure would be able to defeat their group? They are getting delusional out of fear.
Someone rushed forward, and after putting their hands in their hips they pointed at some guy that matched the description of who they were supposed to... oh wait.
"We both can take care of em! With our strengths combined, we are an invincible trio!" The guy wearing a sweater was flexing his muscles and making poses.
"Hmph, i don't need your help to take care of some lowly bandits, but if you're insistent on getting yourself killed, lead right ahead." The rich looking crossed his arms, it seems now its her cue to make an entrance to this ridiculous situation.
"Oh don't worry, he ain't getting killed, just humiliated." The rich guy stepped back while holding some old hag in his arms and then putting her behind him, a sword appeared out of a bright light in his hands.
Ju jumped down and drop kicked 2 guy who just got out of the house at the same time, she noted now that this the front of some sort of inn, but that didn't matter.
"Come now peacefully, or i will have to be... rougher." She put one of her hands behind her back and the other right in front of her, the same with her legs, laughing at the poor little prince that she will unfortunately be her new practice dummy.
Elias took his stance, ready to cut off whoever she was down to tiny teeny pieces.
The hero put his hands up, bouncing up and down as he got himself into his rhythm.
