Nathan's POV
I looked into Derrick's eyes and wished I could ask for my freedom. I wished he would let me go, but I knew that was never happening. It was either I asked for something reasonable—which I knew Derrick would agree to—or I'd be at a loss.
"Go on," Derrick pressed.
I frowned but opened my mouth to speak. "I need a good bath and good food," I finally said. "Also, I don't have a wolf… this weather is freezing. Get me a bed in my cell… I can't be sleeping on the cold floor," I added.
Derrick remained silent for a moment as if contemplating my request. I looked at him, wondering if he was actually considering it, but eventually, he nodded.
"That's okay," he agreed, and I was a bit surprised but masked it with a blank look.
Suddenly, Derrick pointed at a door. "That is the bathroom… go bathe."
