The phone rang suddenly. Greg glanced at the caller ID before answering, his voice cool.
"What's up this late?"
"Why the attitude tonight?" Douglas's teasing voice came through the line. "Is Waldo available?"
Douglas had heard that Ophelia had arrived, and Waldo was notoriously private, especially when he was with her.
Greg turned back to glance at Waldo, who was about to open the door. His tone was icy as he replied, "If you want to chase the storm's tail, I'm sure you can find some time."
Douglas paused for a moment, then caught on. He chuckled darkly, "Seems like this is getting more interesting. Waldo… isn't in the best mood lately, huh?"
Greg scoffed but didn't respond, hanging up the phone abruptly. On the other end, Douglas was left hearing the dial tone, raising an eyebrow in amusement.
