Chapter 16 - 16. The Tipping Point.

As Mei Yoo Jun and Kang Min watched Rae Yoorin disappear into headquarters, unease settled between them. Without a word, they exchanged glances and followed suit, questions swirling in their minds.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, the air was thick with heat and tension. Shan held Ingrid beneath him, his body moving with raw intensity. Each thrust drove deep, forcing breathless moans from her lips.

"See?" he murmured with a smirk, his voice dark with satisfaction. "You used to fight me. Now you don't even try to stop yourself."

"Ahn… Hnn… Mmm…" Ingrid's moans spilled freely, her body betraying her.

Shan's grin widened. "Oh? You're enjoying this, aren't you?"

"I'm… ah… not…" she tried to protest, but her words barely formed before Shan silenced her with a bruising kiss. When he finally pulled away, amusement danced in his eyes.

"Sure, whatever you say." His voice was mocking, challenging. "Now, ride me."

Ingrid barely hesitated before straddling him, her movements driven by both frustration and need. His hands gripped her hips, guiding her, demanding more.

"That's it," he growled. "And shake that ass while you're at it."

Ingrid bit her lip, pushing herself deeper onto him, losing herself in the moment as she then lunges at Shan with a kiss, holding him tight. The tension between them built to its breaking point, and with a final shudder, Shan pulled her tight against him as he spilled inside.

Panting, Ingrid shot him a glare. "You're lucky it was a safe day, bastard."

Shan only chuckled, his fingers tracing lazily down her spine. "Luck's got nothing to do with it, sweetheart."

"Bastard! Fucking fuck bastard!" Ingrid scowled, her eyes burning with frustration.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm your bastard." Shan smirked, sweet-talking her with ease.

Later, after cleaning themselves up, Ingrid turned to him, arms crossed. "Well? What's your answer? I want you to delete that video. Then you can go ahead and get your revenge on Rae Yoorin. Isn't that your plan?"

She sat on the meeting hall table, tossing Shan Rae Yoorin's old phone.

"Yeah, no. I don't think I'm gonna do that."

Ingrid's eyes widened in shock. "You...!" She raised her hand to slap him, but Shan caught her wrist with ease.

"Calm down and let me explain, dammit. God, women are so quick to judge," he muttered, shaking his head. He glanced at the phone and played the video. "I mean, look at this—it's just a video of Rae Yoorin and her boyfriend, Gang Si Won, having sex. What am I gonna do with this? Upload it to a porn site?"

Shan scoffed, watching the screen before arching a brow. "Ishh… twenty minutes? Gang Si Won lasted twenty minutes? He better work on his stamina if you know what I mean." He wiggled his eyebrows playfully before getting serious. "Though, straight to facts—it's no secret they're together, but this could get both of us in trouble."

"Just watch it till the end," Ingrid said, her tone laced with intrigue.

"Hmm...?" Shan leaned in, watching closely.

On the screen, Rae Yoorin's voice rang out, smug and teasing.

"Ugh, if you were that worried, you should've just bought it for me in the first place."

Gang Si Won's face twisted with concern. "You're really gonna get in trouble, Rae!"

"Don't worry, I won't get caught," Rae Yoorin replied confidently.

Shan's eyes narrowed as the conversation played out. "Oh? This is..." His expression shifted as realization dawned.

"Well, this took a different turn," he muttered just as Ingrid slinked closer, pressing her chest against him.

"Well?" she whispered, her breath warm against his skin. "Does it interest you now?"

Meanwhile, Rae Yoorin sat at her desk, eyes focused on her PC as she worked on the sexual presentation slides—though she couldn't resist adding a few tweaks of her own.

Gang Si Won walked in and leaned against the doorframe, watching her with mild curiosity. "Oh? Rae, what's going on? Never seen you work this hard before."

Rae Yoorin glanced up, smirking. "Yeah, but this is just so interesting."

"Well, too bad," Gang Si Won sighed. "I'll be out of the office for a while, so I'll miss the presentation."

At the far end of the room, Mei Yoo Jun and her colleague Kang Min whispered among themselves, their hushed voices tinged with intrigue.

"Do you really think Rae would leave Si Won for a guy like him?" Kang Min murmured.

Mei Yoo Jun shrugged. "Still, that guy gave her a whole basket of flowers… and she threw it away after taking out an envelope."

"Agreed. And she's been wearing a lot of luxury brands lately," Kang Min pointed out.

Mei Yoo Jun's voice lowered slightly. "When you put it all together—mysterious man, envelope stuffed with cash, designer brands—it's pretty obvious that she has…"

"She has what?" Kang Min pressed, leaning in.

From the corner near the entrance, Shan Wolf, who had been passing by the break room, paused just as Mei Yoo Jun dropped the bombshell.

"A sugar daddy," she said, her tone matter-of-fact.

"What nonsense are they talking about?" Shan scoffed internally, shaking his head. Shrugging off their gossip, he turned away, heading back to his seat.

"SHAN!!"

A sharp voice called out, making him pause. He turned to see Rae Yoorin approaching, holding out a pendrive.

"Oh, Rae. Did you finish the scripts and slides for the final section?" Shan asked, eyeing her curiously.

"That's actually why I wanted to talk to you." Rae Yoorin smiled as she handed him the pendrive. "I'm done with it, and I really think we should rehearse the script together."

Shan took the pendrive from her hand. "Oh, and one more thing," Rae added with a casual smirk. "I made some additions—thought they'd make it even better."

Shan turned the pendrive over in his fingers. "Thanks, I'll check the updates and let you know."

"Great! See you later…," Rae Yoorin said, walking past him.

Just as she passed, Shan caught something—a fleeting smirk on her face.

His brows furrowed. What was that about?

Back at his desk, he plugged in the pendrive and opened the slides. His eyes scanned the content. Then, his expression darkened.

"The hell? There's no change at all."

His gaze flicked toward Rae Yoorin, who was now casually chatting with her colleagues as if nothing had happened.

Frustration bubbled up inside him. With an irritated sigh, he pushed back his chair, got up, and headed straight for the vending machine. He needed something cold to clear his mind.

A second later, the clunk of an ice-cold coffee can dropping into the tray echoed in the break room. Shan grabbed it, popped the tab, and took a long sip, his mind still circling back to Rae Yoorin's smirk.

"What the hell is she up to…?"

As Shan made his way back to his seat, his phone suddenly buzzed. He glanced at the screen—Sae Jin Mei (Read Chapter 9).

"Hmm? Jin Mei? I told you to call only if it's an emergency," Shan said as he answered.

"Actually, it is," Sae Jin Mei replied, her voice laced with frustration. "I wanted to ask why my retirement plan was suddenly rejected."

Shan frowned. "Strange. Didn't you already secure it? I remember you paid 50,000 won as an advance."

Before Sae Jin Mei could respond, another phone rang—this time, the company line. Shan hesitated for a second before picking it up.

"Shan speaking."

The voice on the other end was urgent. "Sir, there's a problem—the stock exchange for retirement plans just crashed!"

"WHAT?!" Shan's eyes widened.

"Yeah, and it's not just one. We initially had three reported crashes, but now it's up to ten!" the stockholder informed him.

Shan's mind raced. His fingers clenched around his phone as he pieced things together. Something isn't right.

Then, a realization hit him—something about Sae Jin Mei's situation felt like a clue. His gut told him there was more to this than coincidence.

Without wasting a second, Shan quickened his pace, walking with purpose. "I'll look into it," he told the stockholder before switching back to the other call. "Jin Mei, stay put. I need to check something first."

Shan Wolf tried to piece the puzzle together.

"Rae Yoorin… envelope of cash… retirement plan stock crashes… and now Sae Jin Mei's rejected retirement plan—even though she just got it yesterday? But now it's revoked?"

Something wasn't adding up.

Meanwhile, in her office, Ingrid stood by the window, peeking through the curtains at the staff outside her office. She sighed, annoyed by the usual workplace chatter.

So irritating…

Suddenly, the door burst open. Shan stormed in, grabbing Ingrid by the arms. His chest rose and fell rapidly, still catching his breath.

"The retirement plans. The stocks. Who's in charge of all this?" he demanded, his grip firm.

Ingrid blinked in confusion. "Umm… well, Rae Yoorin is in charge of that."

Shan's eyes darkened. "What? I thought she just handled paperwork and stock projects. Don't you have the final say on who gets approved?"

Ingrid frowned. "Well, technically… but Rae manages the processing and financial approvals. If something changed, she'd know why."

Shan released Ingrid, his mind racing.

"Rae Yoorin… just what the hell are you up to?" He said in his mind.

Shan's eyes flicked to the window beside Ingrid's office. A tempting thought crossed his mind—using his ability to kill himself and travel back in time. It would be easy, a shortcut to the truth.

But he shook his head.

"No. Not yet. I need to understand everything first. Every last detail. Only when I reach the true downfall will I use my ability." He said in his mind.

He clenched his fists, forcing himself to think harder. Then—something clicked.

Snapping his gaze to Ingrid, he stepped forward. "Ingrid, let me see all of Rae Yoorin's paperwork. Past and present."

Ingrid arched an eyebrow, smirking mockingly. "Oh? You know I can't do that. Not even for someone like you." She leaned back, arms crossed. "I'm the head manager here, and—"

Her words cut off with a choked gasp as Shan lunged, gripping her throat tightly.

His voice was low, seething with barely restrained fury. "I'm not playing around, you stupid bitch. If you wanna know why I'm pushing this—one of the company's shareholders just called. Ten users' retirement stock plans have crashed. Ten. And for the past 2 months. The first month was going fine and smoothly since its local launch. Now the 2nd month is begining to have problems. At first it was small problems but now 10 crashes has reported." His grip tightened. "I asked nicely. Now, I'm ordering."

Ingrid's breath hitched. Her eyes locked onto Shan's, scanning for any signs of deceit—but all she saw was raw, burning rage.

Outside the office, Mei Yoo Jun and Kang Min stood near the door, whispering.

"There's something going on between those two, right?" Kang Min mused, nudging Mei Yoo Jun. "I could turn this into a spicy office scandal article. Imagine the headlines—'Manager and Co-Worker Get Steamy Behind Closed Doors!'"

Mei Yoo Jun blinked, her cheeks turning pink. "That's… ridiculous," she muttered. But her mind couldn't help wandering, picturing it.

Two hour later, the meeting room was filled with staff. The air buzzed with chatter as everyone gathered, waiting for the presentation to begin. Ingrid was just standing at the entrance as she close the door and leaned against the wall for the presentation to start.

Shan Wolf and Rae Yoorin stood on stage, preparing to set up the presentation. The murmurs of the audience faded as they powered up the projector.

"Don't get nervous. It's just like we practiced," Shan Wolf said, adjusting his mic.

Rae Yoorin forced a small smile. "Okay."

But inside, her thoughts were far from calm.

"Nervous? Of course, I am. Because in a few minutes, everyone here will know the truth."

Her plan was in motion.

The secret Shan Wolf and Ingrid had been hiding—the accident video—would be exposed.

"He wouldn't have noticed if he had played it on the office computer. But once he opens the presentation on his laptop… the video will autoplay after the final slide that will be the closing slide."

She suppressed a smirk, her fingers tightening slightly around the remote control.

"The actual file would have been ideal, but a copy? That's more than enough to do the trick."

The presentation began.

"Hello, testing… one, two, three. My name is Shan Wolf," he introduced himself, tapping the mic.

"And I'm Rae Yoorin," she followed, keeping her tone composed.

Shan Wolf chuckled lightly. "Just so you know, I'm not exactly an expert on this topic."

A few people in the audience laughed. The atmosphere remained lighthearted as he moved through the slides, discussing workplace ethics and sexual harassment policies.

But Rae Yoorin wasn't paying attention to the speech.

Her heart pounded in anticipation.

"Just a little more… just a little longer…"

She kept her expression neutral, but inside, she was grinning.

"The moment Shan opens his laptop… the truth will be exposed."

Finally, they reached the last slide. Shan Wolf took a breath, preparing to close the presentation.

"And finally—"

Suddenly, he coughed.

A sharp, dry cough that cut through the air. He grabbed his throat, hacking uncontrollably. The audience stirred, whispering in concern.

Shan turned to Rae Yoorin, signaling her. "Ms. Yoorin… cough! Can you—cough!—take over for a while, please?"

Rae Yoorin stiffened. "What? But this isn't even my—"

She hesitated, but eventually took the remote. Staff members exchanged glances, murmuring.

Rae Yoorin's pulse raced. But then… she smirked. Inbher mind she said.

"Fine. Even if I'm the one pressing the button, it doesn't matter. The result will be the same."

She inhaled deeply, her fingers tightening around the controller.

"This is where it ends, Shan Wolf. This is where you and that bitch of a manager, Ingrid Mikage, go down."

She clicked the button.

The screen changed.

Silence.

All eyes widened in shock.

But as Rae Yoorin turned, expecting the accident video, her smug expression vanished.

The sound of moans and rhythmic slaps filled the air.

Her heart stopped.

The projector was playing a sex video.

A very specific sex video.

Her own.

Rae Yoorin's blood ran cold. On the screen, though the faces were blurred, the figures were unmistakable—her and Gang Si Won.

She gasped, stumbling back. As she wonder in her mind.

"No… no, this… this isn't…"

The murmurs grew. The shock turned into whispers.

From the corner of the stage, Shan Wolf—no longer coughing—watched her with a smile on his face.

Expression unreadable.
