Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

I locked the door behind me and looked at the pharmacy door, dented. I stepped back and rammed into it, breaking it open. I picked up the wooden panel from earlier and threw it inside the pharmacy, as well as the bag Clementine forgot to take. I looked at the door that led to the retail area; it was a wooden door, unlike the exit, which was of metal.

"You want to die?" I asked Lilly, my tone cold and uncaring. She turned to me with bloodshot eyes. "This… This is all your fault! My dad is dead because of you!" She yelled.

I chuckled, "There's no one to blame but your incompetence." I said, and I walked back into the pharmacy room.

"You wanna live?"

Lilly quickly ran inside before I could shut the door. 'At least there's some self-persevering instincts intact,' I thought.

I locked the door, well not much of a lock remained, though there was a latch, locking it I pushed a big shelf in front and leaned it against the door, 'Now what's left to do is make spears out of this panel I got.' I looked at the panel, which would come in handy in clearing the drugstore.

I could see the retail from the perforated wall; I saw them latched onto the wall. I can kill them one by one from here. I quickly hacked the wooden panel with my axe and began to work. "What are you doing?" Lilly asked, curious.

"I don't know about you, but I want to get out of here alive," I said and split the plank into 3 parts and began to sharpen them, making them pointy. "Did you have the key?" She asked, her tone malicious.

I looked at her. 'The 'pharmacy's' key?' I wondered, "I knew this was your doing; I mean, there's no one more erratic in this group than you." I said to her.

"Answer my goddamn question," Lilly gritted her teeth, ignoring my remark.

"No, I didn't," I said, and I finished making my first spear.

I stood up and put the pointy end of the spear on the edge of the hole and pushed it in, piercing the skull of the walker. I pulled back and he dropped like a sack of potatoes.

Reward: ????, ????]

The reason why I stayed at this 'XP farm' Lilly had created was this: a quest, though I didn't know what the rewards were, I could only know that when I completed the quest, and if I failed, I had a meat shield right behind me.

I continued to kill them as the kill count started to rise ever so slowly.

"Clementine said you had a clue," Lilly asked, slumped on the ground with not enough will left to even look up.

"I did," I said and groaned, pulling the spear out of one of the dead. "I found a photo of the family who probably owned this place. There was a guy that had the same outfit as the one I saw outside," I said, not looking at her.

Her heart was gripped in her chest. "Then why didn't you tell us? Tell me?"

"Because we didn't have gas," I answered. "Why did you need gas to open the pharmacy?" She asked.

"If there was something wrong with the sensor, the alarm would ring, and without the fuel, this would happen," I said and looked at her. Her head was still down as a tear fell from her eyes.

I sighed and went back to my work, which was dropping walkers like flies.

Reward: ????, ????]

I looked at the piled bodies that had reached up half the wall; 70 more and my vision would be blocked by the corpses piling up, and I wouldn't be able to kill anymore.

'Not as efficient as I thought.'

It was dark outside, and suddenly there was a powercut, leaving us in the dark and with the alarm finally off, relieving our ears for the first time in hours, we could only hear the growl and moaning of walkers, though I could see very well in the dark, which was great, I walked to the bag and retracted the flashlight, I didn't turn it on but handed it to Lilly.

"Don't turn it on, just hold onto it," I whispered. If I turned on the light, the walker would only focus on the metal wall because of the light passing through, and I didn't know if this thing could hold on 100's of walkers that were cramped inside the store.

But that other wall I made out of the walkers was keeping them away from the actual wall.

"Go to sleep. I'll keep watch," I said to her.

She looked up. 'Why is he doing this, even after what I did?' she wondered, as she slowly fell asleep.

I wasn't doing this because I liked her, though she was hot, she was just as crazy, she might kill me in the middle of the night, and I couldn't take chances like that, that aside, I couldn't sleep. I rested my head back on the wall, while Lilly slept in the distance, her hand tightly held the flashlight as if it comforted her.

I was still piling bodies as the first rays of light entered the building. Though it wasn't much, I could still see them more clearly than last night.

Lilly groaned behind me, finally awake. She slept a lot longer because of the exhaustion from last night. She looked at me, Still working Her neck snapped toward the door as she heard growls and groans from the office where her dad was.

A tear formed in her eye. "You've got to learn to let go," I said to her in a low voice. She looked at me with anger. "You don't know how it feels to lose someone close to you," She paused. "Because you've lost nothing." She yelled, aggravating the Walkers. They began to crawl on top of the corpses.

'Even if I did lose someone, I don't remember, and there's no point in sulking.'

I quickened my pace, killing more and more as they came. Snap! The spear broke, and the walkers piled on the wall, shaking it. I picked up another spear I had sharpened this morning and went to work again.

"I-I'm sorry," I heard her say in a low voice. The apology seemed genuine. "No need," I said without looking back.

She stayed quiet, and I continued to kill. I glanced back at her. "Can you pass over something to eat from the bag?" I said to her. She looked at me and felt her stomach growl with hunger.

She crawled over to the bag, set the radio aside, pulled out an energy bar, and walked toward me. "Here," she said, extending her arm to me. "Wait," I said as I pulled the spear out of two walkers' heads.

x2[Walker Killed]

I set my spear aside and was about to grab the bar when I noticed my hands were covered in blood, I looked over to the two water bottles we had, glancing around for anything else to clean my hands, Sanitizers then I heard Lilly open the packet and pulled the bar out, "Here," she said.

I smiled and bit on the bar, eating half of it in one bite, and grabbed the spear again, going back to work. "You're not eating the rest?" She asked.

"I'm rationing it," I said to her, I don't know when we'll be able to get out here. "Can I-" Lilly stopped herself from saying something. "You can eat the other half," I said.

Lilly sat on the floor looking at the energy bar with a red hue on her cheeks and began to eat, savoring every bit, especially the bits of Wesker left on the bar.
