Chapter 24 - I'm going to miss you

Even as Chelsea is wallowing in the shock of Sonia being Idia Gonzalez, another bombshell drops. Chelsea..... Chelsea...snap out of it...Sonia chides her. The most painful and surprising news is yet to come but her friend is still out of it.

Chelsea...there is another news, mmh my grandpa has given me three months to go back and inherit the family business.

Come to think of it Sonia how did you evade us all these years.

....

It was one fateful day, grandpa had a hard time convincing Idia to go school. All her classmates allegedly treated her insincerely just because of her background so she felt frustrated and mocked with their hypocritical acts. For many years she wished for a true friend not those with ulterior motives because of her background. Hence her decision to not go to school, after throwing tantrums, grandpa decided to allow her school at a different prestigious school at another country under a different alias.

....

Sonia is already done explaining but Chelsea is caught up in her own world. Hey....wow that's a scene straight from a movie. Chelsea screams excitedly clapping her hands along. Oww looks like you are very happy as I will be leaving to my country soon. Of course not her mood changes, I'm really going to miss you.

So what will you be doing now, I hope that your wicked boss feels the loss of a great secretary like you who had tolerated him this long. Oww,...that one leave him to me. According to company policy, you should submit your resignation letter a month to the due date so first thing on Monday I'm submitting my resignation letter.

For the two months I'm spending every second with you. They hugged happily after that gnawed happily on some snacks while watching a TV show.

..

The streets is bustling with people, everyone going about their daily activities what else if not as today is a Monday. Somewhere in one of the cars along the road is Sonia. Staying up late last night was the worst idea she had made last night because she woke up very late today. Coincidentally today is when she's going to tend her resignation letter.

Arriving at the company an hour later, her colleagues throw her worrying glances which she is not new to. After greeting she places her back onto her desk, and makes her way towards Craig's office.

Knock...knock..come in!

Sonia enters holding the resignation letter in her other hand, Craig not bothering to look up to her. Why are you late? Is it any important, Sonia mumbles but Craig suddenly laughs. Is it too much for me to ask or now you have grown strong wings that you can throw a question back at me. Craig says as he gets up from his seats, walking slowly he stands in front of Sonia gripping her neck he pushes her against the wall not giving her any room to resist. Gulping down in fear, Sonia pushes the letter onto his chest and runs through the door when he loosens his grip.

Still breathing heavily, she sits behind her desk not even noticing the curious looks of her colleagues. Craig back to his senses picks up the brown envelope that is already lying on his feet. Damn this girl never learns, tearing up the envelope he is astonished on seeing the heading of the letter.

Astonishment turns to anger and then laughter as he rings the intercom. Sonia still reeling from what just happened is startled seeing the boss calling. A few seconds later, Sonia is standing in front of Craig with arms folded behind her. Looking at her pretentious face, a lot of thoughts had been running in his mind on why she out of nowhere submitted her resignation letter he never saw this coming. Or maybe she has fallen for him then he will willingly approve her resignation since he doesn't want to deal with another secretary throwing themselves at him. If Sonia is aware of what's thoughts is running around Craig's head, she will have laugh bitterly because guess what the truth is far from what he is thinking but his pride will not let him ask.

So your leave has been approved as at now, pack everything that belongs to you and leave this premises.
