Chapter 42 - chapter 41

Hou passed through into his inner world where the blood dome formation was. From the outside it looked as if he disappeared, but to him he moved into the dome seeing the tents appear out of nowhere.

Roland followed Hou and felt a change, he saw his vision shift and saw tents at least out of thin air. From the shock, not only Roland, but Hafar and Ruth too, stumbled out of their rhythm and came crashing onto the ground.

"So, How'd you like the security?" Hou shouted back at them from further onwards.

"It is very hidden, isn't it?" Roland propped himself back up and tried as he helped his wife and son back up.

"Well know that you're safe here, how about you follow me and I'll explain how everything works"

Hou brought the three to his tent, and offered them some water. Roland took it and asked,

"So... What is this place?"

"This is the Hou sect, my name is Hou nice to meet you all"

"Nice to meet you properly, Hou, so is there anything we need to do?"

"Let me explain the system here. Right now, should you stay in the sect, you are all of the lowest rank. A low ranked disciples. If you have enough contribution and reason, you may become a middle ranked leader. Of course there are benefits of joining, you will be given training if you wish, in crafts or fighting. And as you saw, with enough contribution points, you can purchase different abilities. That's the breakdown, go find Penn for any jobs, or training you might want. He should also be able to find you a tent or two. You'll know who it is, he has for arms you see."

"I see, let us think for a bit, can we talk privately"

"Of course take your time" Hou left the tent and allowed the family to discuss.

Meanwhile Hou discreetly took back the abilities he bestowed to them.

Ten minutes later, Hou heard Roland can fit him and he re-entered the tent,

"So, your decision?"

"Glad to be working with you, Hou" Roland held out his hand and the two shook.

"I'm sure you'll do just fine, what skills do you all have if I may ask?"

"I don't have any, but I wanna be a fighter, killing monsters and protecting people!" The teenage son, Hafar, blurted out.

"Don't be ridiculous, I don't want to see you dying" Roland gave his son a light slap to the back of the head.

"Hmm.. how about this Roland, I bring out your son and protect him on some hints, teach him the danger of fighting, how about it?"

"Okay, but you protect him. Anyway, yeah we know odd jobs but nothing specifically, we're no artisans."

"That's fine, just go to Penn and he can tell you what we need you for. Dinner today is wolf meat stew you all go eat. And Hafar, I'll come get you next time we hunt, go find Hamar and he can tell you a bit about fighting."

Hou instructed them all what to do, and they left to get everything sorted. Hou stayed behind and layed in bed. He had spent the day experimenting and running, he was very much tired and just needed sleep.

Hou went to sleep and decided he would experiment more tomorrow, after his lessons with Yue.

Hou woke up the next morning and sat up, waiting until Yue woke up. For the whole morning, Hou and Yue once again worked on the formation to make use of another false spirit will. This time Hou understood more and only asked occasional questions on new parts. Hou also asked Yue about creating his own formations, how would he entice spirits to help him.

"Experimenting, that is the key. Different spirits like different things, some will help with beautiful swordsmanship, others will require just qi and other food. You need to first entice a spirit, then give it payment only then will it be able to pass the dao restrictions and act"

"Is it all safe?"

"No. But if you start to do anything dangerous, I should be able to sense it and stop you before anything happens."

Hou and Yue wrapped up the lesson and Hou flew out of his tent. Now he flew without any apparent cause, merely floating in the air and moving. Hou saw the movement formation had been formed, the middle with carriages and surround it people and fighters.

Hou also spotted Hafar and Hamar talking, Hafar had a makeshift sword in his hand and was swinging it while Hamar was moving his form. It seems they have become master and disciple, maybe Hafar would become a permanent member of his fighting guard later on.

Roland and Ruth both seemed to have blended in with the others, they worked small jobs for everyone, everyone who had joined previously were artisans and so they were needed for many odd jobs.

The sect set off, moving forward occasionally fighting animals and finding new parasites, and one symbiote.

On the way, Hafar had been taught and had a basic grasp of real practical combat. Hou had gained many new spirit wills which he could offer to people, Hou ended the day early as he looked at the points board and saw a surplus.

Many people had enough points for abilities and so Hou needed so he could get them all done early. Hou sat at a desk in the main pavilion tent and offered to exchange points for abilities or a larger tent, which Hou would pay points for people to make with the large amount of leather they had stored.

By the end of the day, Hou still had many false wills left but because he had been absorbing so many lately, he had many left still. Overall he had dozens of false spirit wills, many formed of multiple that have been formed together.

The most numerous being strength wills which were most common and also cheapest, therefore most people in the sect now had one or more strength will and a few had new abilities which suited their craft. Such as a carpenter who had gained an ability to create a sharp but small blade.

Hou had also gained a symbiote, it created a sword out of qi, he hid this one and was going to offer it to Hamar later on.
