Chapter 63 - CHAPTER 62

"Ow—Ow!!" The polar ice beast howled, thrashing about in pain. It crashed into an iceberg, causing the ice to shatter.

Luo Wei had no leverage to push against and was flung away, slamming into the ground with a loud thud. His vision blurred, and golden stars danced in his eyes.

"Roar!!"

As he regained his senses, the enraged polar ice beast roared and charged again.

Luo Wei, still dazed, struggled to muster his strength. His body felt heavy, and he could barely move. With no way to dodge, he swung Verrigan's fist down toward the ground in desperation.

The Sword of Justice!

By sheer luck, the sword of justice erupted from the earth, positioning itself directly beneath the beast's incoming claw. The long, energy-infused blade, crackling with holy light and flames, pierced the polar ice beast's skin.

The ice extreme beast, caught off guard, lost its footing, and with a heavy thud, it collapsed to the ground.

Despite its fall, the beast didn't relent. Its enormous claws swiped through the air, aiming straight for Luo Wei.

Holy Protection!

Luo Wei activated the Divine Protection Technique, gritting his teeth and pushing himself to run. But before he could escape, the polar ice beast's giant claws swept across him, knocking him sideways.

One of the beast's claws was thicker than his arm, like a massive club slamming into his chest.

Luo Wei's body shook violently. His vision darkened, and blood spilled from his mouth in a sickening spray.

This was with the Holy Protection Technique active. Without it, that blow might have killed him instantly.

His survival instincts kicked in, and he forced himself to his feet, staggering as he muttered to himself.

I can't afford another hit… I have to survive this… if I don't, I'll die here!

"Roar-roar!"

The polar ice beast, now back on its feet, charged again.

Luo Wei, his head spinning and his body weak, darted to the side, narrowly avoiding the next attack. Swinging his war hammer, the Hammer of Judgment blasted forth, striking the beast's nose, but only leaving a shallow wound.

"Boom!" The polar ice beast retaliated with a devastating swipe.

Luo Wei dodged it and scrambled to climb onto the beast's front limbs, quickly scaling to the top of its head.

Hammer of Justice!

Hammer of Justice!

Two rapid strikes from the Hammer of Justice collided with the beast's skull. The blows drained most of the remaining holy light from Luo Wei's body, but the results were worth it.

The ice beast staggered from the impact, its body swaying and disoriented for a moment.

Luo Wei saw an opportunity. He couldn't kill this beast, but he had to escape. Thinking quickly, he pulled out a bottle of Swiftness potion, drank it, and leaped off the beast's head.

The polar ice beast, still groggy, hadn't regained its balance. Luo Wei swiftly pulled out his staff and waved it at a nearby boulder.

Rock Mark!

"Crash."

The boulder immediately transformed into a rock puppet, which turned and charged in the opposite direction of Luo Wei's escape path.

Luo Wei, now retreating, occasionally glanced over his shoulder.

Unfortunately, his plan didn't go as expected. The two Hammer of Justice strikes hadn't kept the ice beast stunned for long. As Luo Wei had feared, the creature was starting to recover.

Not long after he'd run, the polar ice beast roared again, shaking its head in frustration, and began to regain its senses.

Luo Wei cursed under his breath, realizing his situation was worsening. He quickly aimed his staff at the ice beast's remaining eye.

Arrow of Judgment!

"Cha!"

The arrow of judgment struck the polar ice beast's only remaining eye, bursting the eyeball with a sickening pop.

"Ow—Ow!!"

The ice beast howled in agony. The sound was deafening, and even at a distance, Luo Wei's ears rang as if they might burst.

He immediately commanded the rock golem to attack. The rock golem hurled a large stone, striking the ice beast's rear and drawing its attention.

Furious, the polar ice beast gave chase, stumbling blindly without its sight, crashing into obstacles along the way.

After a few moments of confusion, the beast finally caught up to the rock puppet and crushed it with a single swipe of its claw.

Taking advantage of the chaos, Luo Wei made a quick escape, distancing himself from the beast and vanishing from its line of sight.

He breathed a sigh of relief, but his relief was short-lived.

Just as he began to slow his pace, the ground beneath him began to tremble again.

"Roar—"

The polar ice beast's roar echoed from behind him.

How can it still track me down with both eyes gone?

Luo Wei's heart raced in panic. His strength was nearly gone. The Holy Light power had nearly run out, and his physical stamina was spent. The Swiftness potion was about to expire, and he had no more tricks left.

His mind raced with thoughts of his imminent demise.

Am I going to die here? I haven't even made it to Earth yet!

As the Swiftness potion wore off, his pace slowed, and despair began to sink in.

"Roar-roar!"

The ice beast's roar grew closer, the tremors beneath his feet more intense.

I can't just wait to die—I'll fight to the very end!

With a surge of willpower, Luo Wei turned to face the oncoming monster. He knew his only hope was to get close enough to the beast's massive mouth, dive inside, and attempt an attack from within.

Here goes everything!

Fueled by desperation and fear, Luo Wei threw himself forward, screaming as he leaped into the air.

"Ahhh—"

Suddenly, a brilliant beam of light shot down from the sky, enveloping Luo Wei. As the light touched the ground, he disappeared instantly.

"Boom!"

The polar ice beast, now blind and enraged, slammed its massive body into the earth, shaking the very ground beneath it. Its eyes bled, and it spun in frenzied confusion.

At the same moment, Luo Wei landed with a powerful slam.

"Ouch!"

The world around him shifted, and Luo Wei found himself standing in the Rainbow Bridge teleportation hall, standing before a burly man in a horned helmet and a fur coat.

"Lord Uller?!" Luo Wei exclaimed in shock, rushing forward.

The figure lying on the ground quickly rose to his feet, rubbing his face in mild annoyance.

"Ah, you're Luo Wei, right?" Uller asked with a raised brow.

Luo Wei, still dazed from the battle, nodded.

"I saw your performance just now," Uller said. "It was pretty good."

Luo Wei blinked in confusion. "You… you saw the whole fight?"

Uller nodded, smirking. "I did. But you probably don't know this—when you blinded the beast, you should have covered your tracks with something strong-smelling. It would have helped you escape."

Luo Wei nodded absentmindedly before realizing something.

Wait, are you telling me I just fought that beast to the death, and you've been watching the whole time?
