Dazna wanted to defend himself.
He wasn't just an ordinary old man—he was a well-known bridge-building expert in the ninja world. His skills were unmatched when it came to constructing large-scale structures.
But when he saw Kakashi, Zabuza, and Shiro looking like they were about to explode in rage, he decided it was best to stay quiet.
"Why? Are you not convinced?"
Menma sneered, his arms crossed. "Dazna builds bridges. What about you two? What's your greatest skill? Killing people?"
Kakashi and Zabuza exchanged glances.
Silence.
Now that they thought about it… that was exactly what they were best at.
Kakashi's Raikiri? A technique designed to pierce hearts and kill enemies.
Zabuza's Silent Killing technique? It was literally used for assassinations.
Neither of them had ever built anything.
Menma smirked. "Exactly my point."
A New Perspective
Kakashi turned back to Dazna, his expression unreadable. "Do you have the blueprints for the bridge with you?"
Dazna blinked in confusion but quickly nodded. "Yeah, I have them right here."
He reached into his soaked clothes and pulled out a slightly water-damaged scroll.
He had been swept into the sea earlier, but by some miracle, the blueprints had survived. If he had lost them, all of his work would have been for nothing.
Kakashi examined the scroll before looking up with a confident smirk.
"Good. As long as we have the blueprints, rebuilding the bridge will be no problem."
Shiro frowned. "Wait… what do you mean 'no problem'?"
Kakashi rolled his shoulders. "It'll only take one jutsu."
"...?"
Shiro's frown deepened. "You're not seriously thinking of using Earth Style, are you? A bridge made with Earth Style won't be strong enough."
He wasn't wrong.
Basic Earth Style could create structures, but they weren't durable enough for long-term use. A few people could walk across a ninja-made bridge, but heavy loads, carts, and daily traffic would destroy it.
It would crumble in no time.
Ninjas weren't engineers—they lacked knowledge of material strength, structural integrity, and design stability.
Kakashi snorted. "Don't compare me to you."
He placed the blueprint on the ground, pressed his palm over it, and channeled chakra into the scroll.
"Earth Style: Progressive Transformation."
Suddenly—
Black markings spread across the broken bridge like ink bleeding into the stone.
A deep rumbling echoed as chakra surged through the structure.
Rocks and materials rose from the seabed, crushed and reshaped with surgical precision. The pieces cut, stacked, and reinforced themselves, perfectly following the blueprint's schematics.
Within seconds—
The broken, unfinished bridge was rebuilding itself.
It was like watching reality be rewritten.
A New Kind of Power
Shiro's eyes widened in disbelief.
This isn't possible… is it?
He knew this jutsu—Earth Style: Progressive Transformation—but not at this level.
How was it so precise?
How was it so strong?
And more importantly—how much chakra did Kakashi even have?!
The amount of raw power being poured into the technique was insane!
Shiro's chakra reserves weren't even close to this!
And yet, Kakashi wasn't even breaking a sweat.
Shiro clenched his fists. This isn't fair!
Why did his "brother" have so much chakra, while he had so little?!
It wasn't long before—
The bridge was fully restored.
A New Reality
Dazna stared in shock.
His hands trembled as he reached out, touching the bridge's smooth, solid surface.
It was perfect.
Exactly as he had designed it in the blueprints.
Exactly as he had imagined it.
And yet—
It had taken months of effort from his workers to build even half of the original bridge…
Kakashi had rebuilt it in less than ten minutes.
This… this is the power of ninjas?
He had always thought of ninjas as warriors, mercenaries, and killers.
But if they had power like this…
Why weren't they builders?
Why weren't they creating instead of destroying?
Kakashi turned to Shiro, Zabuza, and the others. "Do you understand now?"
Zabuza and Shiro nodded slowly.
If all ninjas could use their powers in this way…
Why would they ever need to fight for money?
The missions ninjas accepted were mostly escort jobs or assassinations. But if a single ninja could construct an entire city with their chakra—
Why even be a mercenary?
Why not build?
Why not create?
And yet…
No one had ever thought about using their power this way before.
Menma yawned. "You guys can think about that later. Right now, we have something more important to deal with."
He turned toward Naruto. "You need to gather some of the Nine Tails' chakra."
Naruto blinked. "Huh?"
"You're the Nine Tails' Jinchūriki, right?" Menma gave him a sideways glance. "Tch, another outdated concept."
"…Jinchūriki?"
Naruto frowned.
He had heard of the Nine Tails before—he knew it was inside him.
But what the hell was a Jinchūriki?
Menma groaned. "Seriously? You don't even know what that means?"
He turned to Kakashi with a glare. "What kind of teacher are you?"
Kakashi looked away, scratching his head. "...Oops."
Menma sighed. "Forget it. Just stand still and don't fight back."
Before Naruto could react, Menma tapped his forehead with two fingers.
Immediately—
Inside Naruto's Mind
Naruto's consciousness shifted.
He found himself standing in a dark, damp sewer.
Water pooled beneath his feet. The air felt heavy and oppressive.
Ahead of him stood a massive red gate—the cage that held the Nine Tails.
Behind the bars, two glowing red eyes stared at him with pure malice.
A low, guttural growl echoed through the space.
"ROOOAAAARRR!"
The sheer force of the roar shook the entire mindscape.
"Naruto… come closer… help me break this seal."
The deep, rumbling voice carried a dark temptation—a whisper of power and destruction.
An ordinary person would have been overwhelmed by the pressure alone.
But Menma?
He yawned and waved dismissively. "Yeah, yeah, cut the act, Kurama."
Silence.
The Nine Tails froze.
Its red eyes widened.
Kurama.
He knew his real name.
"W-What?!" The fox's voice stuttered. "Who the hell are you?!"
Menma smirked.
"I'm the guy who's here to collect rent."
