Wang Feng blinked, slowly adjusting his vision to the light radiating around him. This space—if it could even be called a room—resembled more of a separate dimension filled with pure energy. The ceiling was invisible, as if it vanished into eternity, while the floor was made of a crystal surface that reflected his own image like a mirror.
Wang Feng looked around with curiosity.
At the center of the space, a dragon was sleeping. The dragon was covered in oval silver scales all over its body. Its massive frame occupied half of the entire area.
The dragon's eyes slowly opened, revealing silver-purple irises with vertical pupils.
Those silver-purple eyes gazed sharply at Wang Feng, emitting a cold yet elegant aura that made the surrounding air feel frozen. Its vertical pupils narrowed slowly, observing the human before it with an almost inhuman level of scrutiny.
"You've finally arrived," the dragon's voice sounded like the rustle of falling snow—soft, yet imbued with undeniable power.
Wang Feng, still in his fusion state with the Dragon Emperor, didn't feel the overwhelming pressure from the gaze. However, Di Tian, who stood behind him, instantly knelt down fully. It was the absolute suppression of bloodline.
"You... know me?" Wang Feng asked hesitantly.
Seeing Wang Feng unaffected by the pressure radiating from its bloodline, the dragon's eyes gleamed a little brighter.
The silver dragon didn't answer right away. Its majestic body slowly moved, and its silver scales shimmered like mirrors reflecting light from no visible source. With a natural grace, it shifted its posture, bringing its large head closer to Wang Feng.
"You possess something that feels familiar to me, human," the dragon said.
Di Tian, still kneeling fully, spoke respectfully to the dragon, "Di Tian pays respect to Your Majesty."
He then explained, "Your Majesty, this human seems to be the one who released a powerful dragon aura about five years ago. He possesses a dragon bloodline of incredible purity. When I asked him where he got it from, he said it came from his Martial Soul."
The Silver Dragon turned its gaze from Wang Feng to Di Tian, her silver-purple eyes blinking slowly. "Rise, Di Tian. There's no need for excessive formality before me." Her voice remained gentle yet authoritative. She then retracted her bloodline pressure.
"Very well, Di Tian. Now I want you to leave us."
Di Tian looked hesitant. "But Your Majesty, this human—"
"I said leave!"
Though reluctant, Di Tian bowed and immediately retreated, opening a dimensional portal and stepping through it.
Now, only Wang Feng and the Silver Dragon remained in the space. The atmosphere grew unbearably tense.
"Human, let us continue our conversation," the Silver Dragon said. "But before that, I will change my form."
A blinding silver light surrounded her.
Wang Feng instinctively closed his eyes. The light slowly faded, replaced by the figure of a woman emerging from within.
The woman possessed an indescribable beauty—so perfect that no words in the world could do it justice. She had a tall, alluring, and flawless figure. Her silver hair, like flowing crystal, cascaded down to her ankles, swaying gently as if alive. Each strand sparkled with a mesmerizing silver glow.
Wang Feng couldn't help the awe that arose in his heart. The woman before him was clearly the most beautiful being he had ever seen in his life. Her beauty surpassed all worldly standards, leaving him momentarily frozen in place.
With graceful steps, the silver-haired woman approached. It was clear she wasn't wearing any footwear. Her smooth white feet, like polished jade, did not touch the ground directly, but were wrapped in a soft silver glow. Each step she took left an impression of untarnished purity.
She stopped about a meter in front of Wang Feng. From this close distance, he could clearly see her enchanting thick eyelashes. A faint, intoxicating fragrance accompanied her every movement.
As she looked at him attentively, Wang Feng felt an inexplicable nervousness flood his heart. In the face of such perfect beauty, he felt as though he was being drawn into another world.
Wang Feng watched as the woman lifted her hand, and instinctively closed his eyes. He then felt her hand press against his chest. Wang Feng immediately opened his eyes and stepped away from her.
The woman's beauty had unconsciously made Wang Feng lower his guard. He saw the silver-haired woman smile faintly, her hand still calmly outstretched.
"Relax, human," her voice flowed like a spring river. "I only want to confirm something."
Wang Feng's clenched fist slowly loosened.
He stepped forward again, this time more slowly. Wang Feng could clearly see how her silver-purple eyes radiated a mysterious light.
"You make me feel something familiar," the woman repeated what she had said when they first met. Then Wang Feng noticed she seemed to be recalling something.
Wang Feng frowned. "What do you mean?"
The woman was exploring her memories, trying to recall where she had once felt the aura within Wang Feng.
Then, as she delved into the memories she had as the Dragon God, she realized the origin of the aura.
"Human, have you ever received the inheritance of the Light Dragon King?" the woman asked.
Wang Feng was shocked; he didn't expect to hear that name again.
Seeing Wang Feng's reaction, the woman knew she was right. "Show me."
Wang Feng hesitated for a moment, but still decided to show her. After all, he was essentially a prisoner right now. If he wanted to survive longer, he had to comply—for now.
A bright golden soul ring appeared beneath Wang Feng. From his back, a pair of majestic dragon wings spread—white-golden external bones with light blue patterns on each feather tip, exuding a pure heavenly aura.
The silver-haired woman's delicate brow furrowed slightly as she sensed the aura of the Light Dragon King from the soul ring. Her violet eyes gleamed with recognition.
"This soul ring belongs to the Light Dragon King…" she whispered softly, her voice trembling faintly. "And those wings… So it's true."
The woman took a deep breath, calming herself. When she spoke again, her voice was steadier, but still carried emotional weight.
"It seems… fate has brought you here." She stepped back, putting some distance between them. "I need time to reflect on this. For now… you will stay at the Lake of Life as my guest."
She made a hand gesture, and a silver portal opened beside them.
"Di Tian!" she called.
The Golden-Eyed Black Dragon King immediately appeared from the portal, still showing respectful demeanor. "Your Majesty?"
"Prepare a place for this human to stay and let him settle there. Treat him well—he is… a special guest." There was a strange emphasis on the last words.
Di Tian looked confused but nodded. "As Your Majesty commands."
With that, she turned and walked away, her long silver hair fluttering behind her like a banner in the wind.
Di Tian led Wang Feng through the portal, leaving the woman alone in the crystal-like space.
"Light Dragon King…" she whispered to the empty room. "So that was your choice…"
Star Dou Great Forest, Lake of Life.
Xuan Zi was starting to grow anxious about Wang Feng, as shown by the slow furrowing of her brows. She immediately asked one of the soul beasts nearby, "Why are they in there for so long? It's already been over an hour."
But none of the three soul beasts responded.
Just as Xuan Zi was about to ask again, Di Tian and Wang Feng emerged from the depths of the Lake of Life.
When he came out, Wang Feng was already in the state of releasing the Shenlong Emperor Martial Soul.
Xuan Zi immediately rushed over to them. The three soul beasts assigned to guard her tried to block her path.
"Let her pass," Di Tian ordered.
They stopped blocking her upon hearing Di Tian's voice.
With nothing in her way, Xuan Zi quickly rushed to Wang Feng's side.
She inspected Wang Feng from head to toe with a vigilant gaze. "Are you alright?" she asked, fists clenched, ready to act if she found any signs of harm.
Wang Feng nodded slowly. "I'm fine, Elder. They… treated me well."
Di Tian stood several steps behind with a cold expression. "Her Majesty has decided to treat your disciple as an honored guest at the Lake of Life," he said flatly to Xuan Zi.
Xuan Zi frowned. "An honored guest? What does that mean?"
The three spirit beasts who had been watching now looked at each other with confused expressions. Bear Lord, with his large body, approached and growled lowly, "Di Tian, what's really going on? Why is this human—"
"Her Majesty's orders," Di Tian cut in sharply. "Enough!"
The air grew tense. Xuan Zi quickly pulled Wang Feng behind her in a defensive posture. "If you intend to keep my disciple as a captive—"
"We have no such intention," Di Tian suddenly said, his voice gentler. "Her Majesty has ordered that your disciple stay here temporarily. This… is an honor no other human has ever received. You should be proud."
