It's been weeks since I joined this organization. Because of the thing I said my name has spread like wildfire, earning me both enemies and allies among my colleagues of the same rank.
Some call me a madman, while others ridicule my choice.
But even among those critics, there are also those who support my decision.
Every now and then, I always heard the critic or support from others about my liking.
But I really don't care about these people's opinions. I don't bother with them, so why would they even bother with me?
Yet most of their responses are always something like this.
"She's the 7th in the Abyssal Depth..
Do you think you have a chance? Not to mention you posses no power"
Or
"Don't you know Lady Arlen was cursed?"
And honestly, I can't really be mad at them. Cursed people are feared in all lands. Individuals who are cursed usually bring bad luck, destruction, or catastrophe wherever they go.
For example, there is one famous story known across all lands about a single cursed person. This person is also known as the worst human to ever exist, having killed an uncountable number of living beings during their time centuries ago. Even after their death, their body was so cursed that the ground itself rejected it from being buried.
And that alone struck fear into the hearts of many, forever changing how people view the cursed.
But to be honest, I don't care. That's just a story of a forgotten past. It has nothing to do with the present.
Those were his thoughts as he finished putting on his uniform.
"Looking good," he mutter, pointing at the reflection of himself before leaving the room.
Stepping out, he continued walking through the hallway until he eached its exit.
But the road ahead was blocked by many people wearing the same uniform as his.
"What did the superior say?" he throw a question to the person in front of him.
That person looked at him before turning back forward.
"You're late, Mori."
"Sorry, I was distracted by my own face."
Sigh "...You didn't miss much. The superior is about to give his speech."
Their focus shifted to the person standing on the platform.
"To all lowest-rankers, I am here to deliver an important message," his words caused murmurs among them.
"Tomorrow, all twelve members of the highest rank and our leader, Her Majesty, will be holding a grand meeting here. I have been provided with a list of tasks that need to be completed in preparation for their arrival."
Hearing the superior's words, his face lit up.
A chance to see the lady again.
